Episode 1

I have to admit that episode one is just so-so.   There is no chemistry between the leads yet.

The story is also nothing really to write about.

It is not quite boring but bordering to it.

I am sure though that it will improve, well, I hope so.

Her family was forced to leave their farm to live near their relatives who look down on them.

Their relatives treated them abominably.   As soon as the patriarch of the family died (the grandfather) Xie Jiang Er’s father was only given a very small piece of land which they then took back from him to give to the Commandery Prince by the Su Family.

Anyway, Xie Jiang Er, was annoyed and reluctant to leave Yuyangli Village but she has the deed sale of their land and determined to buy it back.

Anyway, her family can’t be together and she and her brother had to stay with their uncle and aunt and their daughter, who was unhappy of having cousins from the hicks living with them as well as going to the same academy as her.

Xie Jiang Er first met Zhao Xian Qian in the market place where she accidentally stepped on his beloved cricket.  She did not know that he was the commander prince and was annoyed with him when he told her off after killing his cricket.

The next time they met was in the academy.

Xie Jiang Er seemed can’t settle in the academy because during a mid-term test, she was making a mess of her test paper rather than answer it.  She was sent to the faculty room.  On her way there, she Xian Qian again with his two friends.

As soon as she entered the room, she saw the burning test papers everywhere.  She got a broom to put the fire out but the teacher came and immediately blamed her for burning the papers on her first day in class.

It is not getting any better for her yet but still, it lacks excitement.

Episode 2

Xie Jiang Er determination to buy back their small land is not abating.  She had now got a part-time job as a cleaner/librarian at the Commandery Prince manor.

She was told by the housekeeper that she must not touch the tassel because it is old and falling apart but it is very sacredly sentimental to the Prince.

When she saw the same tassel at Xianqian’s desk at school, which she was searching.  She grabbed the tassel and looking at it.

Xianqian caught her in the act.  She asked him if he was the commandery prince of Julu.

He grabbed the tassel from her and then took out her farm’s deed of sale and tore it to pieces.

They were both upset.

Her life in the academy started to improve when one of her cousins, Su Wei became more sympathetic towards her.

Xie Jiang Er learned embroidery and needlework so she could repair the Prince tassel, which is called Gentleman’s Tassel😊

When Xianqian found out about a maid making the tassel, he went to look for her.

He found her in the changing room, half-naked.  He could see her naked back.

He fell in love with her back.🤪

He waited for her outside and when he saw her, he was so surprised to find out that it was Xie Jiang Er.

He said that she was too thin.

But he ordered that the servants including his library maid should be given more food.

Xiaoqian is being ordered to return to the capital to marry Shen Zhou Wen, who he had been betrothed since he was a boy.

Episode 3

Xie Jiang Er had a stupid moment.  She went to the playground while the boys were playing Cuyu (ancient football).  And of course, the ball landed on her forehead.

While she was flirting, her young brother was being bullied.

When she arrived, it was too late.  A nasty guy had already grabbed their father’s token.

Episode 4

Xiaoqian was falling in love with Xie Jiang Er.

Su Wei has a crush on Zhong Si Fan and thought that it was mutual because he accepted the cookies she baked.  But there was a misunderstanding, the cookies were given to Xiaoqian who thought that Xie Jiang Er was in love with him.

But Su Wei found out from Si Fan that he did not received the cookies and did not write her a note asking to meet up.

It was Xiaoqian who wrote the note and was so annoyed when Xie Jiang Er did not show up.

Xie Jiang Er stood in for Si Fan as the harvest festival goddess for her family.  The celebration was gatecrashed by Xiaoqin who ordered to take Xie Jiang Er by his guard which confused the family and ruined the celebration.

Cong Wen who was attending the celebration asked his father to lend him his army to take back Xie Jiang Er.

So they went to Xiaoqian manor and they were met by the palace army.

Yes, this drama is finally getting more interesting.
