Episode 1
I love the first episode. I love that the female lead character is a badass. So I will be continuing to the next episode.
Anyway, Han Zi Jing is a captain of elite soldier in the modern world. They were in a mission where they encountered a monstrous giant snake, just like in B-movies. She led her team out of danger but they had to set camp for the night. They found a cave; Han Zi Jing declared that she will do a reconnaissance of the cave before they all enter.
Han Zi Jing fell into an underground inlet. After more searching, she noticed a glowing dagger when she opened the dagger, she ended in another dimension or timeline.
She woke up surrounded by villager and a cantankerous woman scolding her. Han Zi Jing was confused for a moment but she knew she had to protect herself.
The screeching woman said that she was her mother and that Han Zi Jing had brought disgrace to the family. She was a harlot staying at Grandeuer Palace. Her ‘mother’ then order for Han Zi Jing to be dragged back home but Han Zi Jing used her military training to knock out all of her mother’s posse.
Someone splash water all over Han Zi jing which seemed to trigger the memory of the girl she transmigrated into. She found out the the mother was really her wicked stepmother. Han Zi Jing was an illigitimate daughter. It was her half sister who drugged her with Moxun Poison and arranged for her to stay at the Grandeur Palace brothel.
Han Zi Jing decided to go back to the mansion and have it out with her half-sister, Han Xi’Er.
Her father was at the mansion as well and would have punished Han Zi Jing but he realised that Han Zi Jing was different. She was no longer the diffident girl but a kickass girl.
Han Zi Jing slapped Han Xi’er but their father could not do anything.
Meanwhile, at the palace, the King was having a morning court but Jun Bei Yue was absent. Jun Bei Chen incited the King saying that Jun Bei Yue was ignoring the court. At that moment Jun Bei Yue turned up to report the reason of his tardiness. He had been finishing off some skirmishes and Xilling is now subdued.
Jun Bei Chen was surprised to see Jun Bei Yue because he left him in the brothel and drugged him with the Moxun Poison.
Episode 2
The Emperess and and her Jun Bei Chen tortured Mr Chen, the man who supposed to have spent the night with Han Zi Jing at the brothel. They forced him to make up a confession. When it was done, they killed him.
Now, Han Zi Jing had a very ‘dirty’ reputation and no Mr Chen to make an honest woman of her.
This did not stop Han Zi Jing who decided to join the Princess Consort selection for the fourth prince.
Despite joining the selection, Han Zi Jing made everything possible that she does not get selected but then Bei Yue chose her.
Han Zi Jing still declined but then she spotted the dagger she had been searching for on his waistland. So she changed her mind and agreed to the marriage.
Bei Yue had no time to settle Han Zi Jing into his mansion before he was summoned by the Emperor.
Bei Yue ordered that no one was allowed to take Han Zi Jing out of the mansion without his permission. He made Hongyi to be responsible for Han Zi Jing.
Hongyi who heard of Han Zi Jing’s reputation as a fallen woman, made sure Han Zi Jing’s stay at the mansion was not a comfortable one. She assigned a derelict villa for Han Zi Jing and minimal food.
Episode 3
The Empress send for Han Zi Jing to see her. Han Zi Jing went and was made to drink a tea made from Huayin Poison. Everyone knew that it was a lethal potion including Han Zi Jing but with no other choice, she drunk it.
She then staggered towards the carriage with Hongyi waiting for her. Inside the carriage, Han Zi Jing expelled the toxin out of her body by pressing sores on both her knees. Hongyi was aghast but impressed at the same time of what Han Zi Jing did. Hongyi knew that Han Zi Jing was no ordinary woman and someone not to be trifled with.
She promised Han Zi Jing that she would be respectful towards her. Han Zi Jing also told her not to mention the poison to the Fourth Prince, because as there was a strife between the Empress and the Fouth Prince, she does not want an out and out war between the two. Hongyi was true to her promise.
Meanwhile, Bei Yue ended up being incarcerated without food at the palace dungeon when he refused the King’s advice to drop Han Zi Jing. Bei Yue said that he like Han Zi Jing and determined to make her his wife.
The Emperor was so annoyed but the Empress assured him that Han Zi Jing was dying. The Emperor smiled because he knew that the the Huayin Poison will take its full effect of death on the seventh day. The day when he had to issue an edict making making Han Zi Jing the Princess Consort to the Fourth Prince.
The Ouyang sister came to visit Han Zi Jing to see what state she was in. They saw her really frail, looking like on her death’s door.
Episode 4
Bei Yue was released from prison. The Emperor said that he hope Bei Yue had time to think about how inappropriate to make Han Zi Jing his Princess Consort.
Bei Yue said he had not changed his mind and was holding the Emperor to his promise to approve the union and issue and edict for Han Zi Jing as the office Princess Consort for the Fourth Princwe.
With much annoyance, the Emperor promised.
So Bei Yue went back to the Chen Mansion with Han Zi Jing to accept the edict as it will be issued at the Chen Mansion’s address being the bride’s maiden house.
Many attended the edict reading including Bei Chen who saw how Han Zi Jing was finding it hard to keep awake and breath.
The palace eunach finally arrived with the edict and slowly read the missive. Han Zi Jing had been officially acknowledged as the new Princess Consort.
To everyone surprise, Han Zi Jing recovered in an instant.
Everyone became nervous including the eunuch.
The Emperor quickly learned about Han Zi Jing good health. He then berrated the Empress for her incompetence but the same time he ordered to leave Bei Yue and Han Zi Jing alone.
The Empress fearfully agreed but not frightened enough because now they had to target Chancellor Chen.
