Quick Precis

When Haishi needed help most, she was saved by Fang Zhu

Episode 1

The first episode is beautifully shot, the CGI was really good. The scenery was very panoramic.

Xu Kai Cheng looks so handsome as a young emperor. William Chan’s handsomeness was not enhanced by his hairstyle at all but having said that he was still very handsome.

Yang Mi still looks like she was in her early twenties.

But the girl who played young Hanshi is really beautiful.  She will be a real beauty one day.

Anyway, Haishi comes from a fishing family.  Her father and two uncles took her fishing.  They tied her like an anchor. Then they told her to swim down and when she sees a mermaid they told her to grab hold of her because she has the luminous pearl.  Just one pearl could pay their tribune.

Haishi was a fearless girl.  Even her father asked if she was scared at all but she smiled and said she was ready.

She went swimming deeper and deeper until she saw a whirlpool with many fishes.  She swam towards it but she became overwhelmed by the amount of fish coming out from it.

She would have drowned if a mermaid did not save her.  The mermaid brought her into the surface.

Hainshi swam towards the boat.  She then pointed to the mermaid who stayed partly on the surface of the water smiling at them.

The father grabbed Haishi by the throat and started squeezing it.  The sight of a human murdering his innocent daughter made the mermaid tear up.  Every tear that fell into the water immediately turned into a luminous pearl.

Haishi’s two uncles were ready with their net to catch the pearls.

They had more than enough but the father still squeezed on Haishi’s throat though he apologised for what he was doing.  He said that it was a necessity as the greedy emperor likes his pearls.

Finally, the father lets go of Haishi.  Then they noticed a huge wave coming at them with sharks in them.

Their boat capsized and uncles were bitten by sharks.  Her father helped Haishi climb into the capsized boat.  Her father was too late the sharks got him as well.

Meanwhile, Haishi jumped into the water to help her father.  Sharks were about to get her when they suddenly stopped.

The mermaid had saved her. The kind mermaid touched palms with her and energy from the mermaid seemed to have passed into Haishi.

When she woke up, she was inside the boat which had been turned around and righted.  She noticed the number of pearls beside her and a silvery mark on her palm.

In the meantime, the soldiers collecting tribune were in her village.  They were dissatisfied with the quality of pearls they collected from the villagers.

The General threatened to kill them all if better pearls were not presented to him.  The soldiers had just started rounding up the people when Haishi turned up with the luminous pearl.

The General was finally happy but he pocketed the pearls for himself and then asked his soldiers if they had received any luminous pearls.  The soldiers all shouted ‘NO’. So the general order to kill everyone and burn the village.

Haishi’s mother told her to run and she did, She got rescued by a masked man in white.  Clever Haishi was able to save two pearls for herself.

The masked man asked her if she wanted to go with him to the capital.  Haishi confirmed that she would.

Again the man said to her that she has a choice.  If she was a girl, her privileges will be a constraint but if she was a boy, she could be anyone and can do anything.  He asked her to make a choice.

Haishi quickly said that she’s a boy.

On their way to the Capital, they had to rescue the Emperor who were amused by black ninja assassins.

Haishi wanted to kill the Emperor herself but she was stopped by Fang Zhu.

Haishi formally became a boy disciple of Fang Zhu.  As she was now a part of his family she became a Fang as well.  It seemed that Fang Zhu like collecting displaced children because Fang Haishi also gained a disciple older brother, Fang Zhouying.

He became Fang Hainzhi’s training partner and they trained from dawn till dusk in all forms of martial arts.

The Emperor is bored so he summoned Fang Zhu who is the leader of his Secret Force.

Episode 2

Fang Haishi had grown into an annoying young woman who also just discovered sexuality and she was crushing on her master.

She nags Fang Zhu to send her to work in the palace but at the same time, she was dreaming of feeling her master.  Naughty girl.  She would have wet dreams and would wake up flustered. 🤣🤣🤣

Xu Kai Cheng is a standout as the Emperor.  He is just gorgeous.  He looks good as an indolent monarch.

Episode 3

Zhe Liu entered the palace to join the fabric department through the recommendation of her sister, who was fabric manager.

Most of the time, Fang Zhu has a good relationship with the Emperor, after all Fang Zhu is known as the king’s hidden knife in the forest (or something).  But sometimes, when the king is particularly distressed, he tend to use the calm Fang Zhu as his personal punching bag.

The king had summoned Fang Zhu to tell him that after so many years, Jichang is coming back, and with was the Princess of Zhunian.

The Princess is being sent as a concubine to the King and the king was not amused because his harem is full.

He ordered Fang Zhu to kill her but Fang Zhu reminded the King that they will start a war if he did as he was told.  Afterall Princess Ti Lan is the biological sister of Empress Zizan.

Empress Zizan is the king’s love and soulmate but might have died.

The King went mad and told Fang Zhu to obey him.

If this is not stressful enough, Fang Zhu found his disciple Fang Hanshi acting on her own and investigated the assassin during the Lantern Festival.

The mission to meet Jinchang (the Fourth Prince) and the Princess was given to Fang Zhouying who was ordered by the King to escort Jinchang alone as he does not want to see the Princess.  He doesn’t want to enter Tianci City.

I have to admit I am still trying to warm to YangMi but at the moment she is just to spoilt and undisciplined.  It looks like Fang Zhu was not a good master as his disciple is so unruly.

Anyway, Fang Zhu sneaked into the departing army led by Fang Zhouying.  It was really to late to send her home so he told her to behave.

They’ve met the Jianching and the princess.  Fang Zhouying realised that good back to the municipality is a lot tougher than leaving it.

They asked the magistrate to provide the extra manpower.  He said he could only give 1000 soldiers.

Anyway, they discussed the route they were taking with the magistrate and that Fang Hanshi will dress up as the princess.

But as they were leaving the tent, Fang Zhouying noticed that the magistrate was behaving rather suspiciously.

The next day as expected they were ambushed but their assassins knew which carriage to attack.

Episode 4

The King and Jancheng met after so many years.  The king was really happy to see his brother but it became apparent that Jancheng was childlike, not all up there.

The King then summoned the Junfei Pavillon after learning how they went against his dictum and did everything to save the princess.

Fang Zhu only brought Zhouying with him which incensed the King.

He then asked that Zhouying be lashed 200 times which shocked Fang Zhu who said he would like to share the punishment.

The king watched them being beaten up until Zhouying fainted.

Fang Zhu took back Zhouying to the pavilion where Hanshi was already waiting.

Fang Zhu had had enough of her and told her to leave the pavilion.  He said that she was so naughty she refused to mend her ways and does and she pleased and Zhouying had to pay for her actions.

Anyway, Xu Kai Cheng is so gorgeous as a king, he is owning this drama.  He was drinking when his head eunuch reminded him that his new bride was still waiting outside.

He finally ordered to let them in and noticed that Talin was the spitting image of Zizan.  This only made the king more irate and told the eunuch to place the princess and her made more or less under house arrest inside the villa.

Episode 5

Fang Hanshi just do not get what Jinfeng Villa was for which was frustrating for Fang Zhu.

Finally he said if she kills the emperor, Fang Zhu will kill her himself. He said that the king is his best friend and he would give his life for him in a heartbeat.

The king knew that Hanshi was dying to kill him and he said she was welcome to do it but she had to do it soon because there is a queue of people wanting to him as well.

Poor Talin was embarrassed by the King.  He showed her how she does not matter to him.  In fact he wanted to use her as a reward to either Fang Zhu or Fang Hanshi.

The princess was aghast because she sort of know that it would be a lesbian relationship with Hanshi if they get together.  The princess accidentally felt Hanshi chest when they were riding a horse.

Episode 6 

This is a very slow-moving episode.  As Emperor Xu always says, “Boring!”

Hanshi had to take into account whether Jingfeng Villa is not just a criminal tool of the King.

Zhouying is enjoying a secret romance with a deluded Liu who was in love with the God of the Wind.

Episode 7

General Tang was leaving Tianqi City.  The emperor issued a decree that Tilan is allowed to bid General Tang goodbye.

One of Tilan’s ladies’ maids said that though she was allowed, there is a law that consorts are not allowed to mingle with men.

So Tilan had a cold bath to make herself ill.

The Emperor ordered that Fang Hanshi attends the Imperial examination.

As there was a physical examination, Fang Zhouying railroad the examiner by turning up insisting that he was Fang Hanshi.

Fang Hanshi got it but her classmate was not making it easy for her.

They tried to gang up on her but she was too good in martial art.

Episode 8

Yang Mi is absolutely gorgeous but this role is not for her.

Her beautiful unlined face is very young looking but she cannot hide her experience and cynicism of the world which Haishi should not have.

The character needed to be played by a younger girl with an innocent expression and flat chest. Zhou Ye would have been perfect.

Anyway, during the exam, Hanshi wrote a critique about the rumour of the Emperor’s love of luminous pearl.

She based her essay on her personal history.

The Emperor was not upset with Hanshi but about how he was now perceived by the common people as an autocratic ruler

He went on a tirade during morning court about overtaxing the people in his name.  He taxed them 10 percent but his agent went asking for 100% causing desperation to the peoplel

He was so annoyed with the ministers that were in charge he had them punished.

He then gave the first honour to Hanshi for her essay because she made him aware of what was going on.

Fang Zhu was summoned to the palace where he received a right bollocking from the Emperor.

Fang Zhu said that had been investigated the pearl case had now all the evidence against all the people involved with the case.

The next test for Hanshi was archery on horseback.  It would have been pretty routine for her but someone spooked her horse.  So it became tenacious but still Hanshi remembered what master had taught her.  Know thy horse as thou know thyself.

Zhouying continuous to stalk Zhe Liu.  He secretly gave her a fuffy bunny because Tilan loved the rabbit Haishi gave her.

I am loving the chemistry between the Emperor and Tilan while it is non-existent between Haishi and Fang Zhu.

Episode 9

Haishi won the third game but then someone threw a poison on her back so she fell into the water.

Fang Zhu immediately dove in to save her and the Emperor ordered a lockdown for investigation.

Madam Ju, the Headmistress of Fabrics saw Fang Zhu sucking the poison on Haishi’s shoulder.  She noticed also that Haishi could only be a woman with her long hair unbound and falling into her naked shoulder.

Madam Ju was brokenhearted as she had been carrying a one-sided love for Fang Zhu for the longest time.  She was engaged to Fang Zhu but he refused to marry her.

It was the General who ordered the poisoning on Fang Haishi but they used a minor soldier to take the fall.

The Emperor was beginning to suspect that Fang Zhu was having homosexual feelings for Haishi because Fang Zhu always said to punish him instead every time Haishi gets into trouble.

Meanwhile, even in near death, Haishi can’t help dreaming of having a love affair with Fang Zhu.

Fang Zhu had risen from the dead.  He was announced as he attend the morning court.  Everyone was surprised but very welcoming except for the General.

Fang Zhu came to see him later o and warned the General to leave his people alone or else…

The Emperor continued to toy with Tilan.  He sent for her from the Yu’an palace for some servicing🤣.  But when she started to get close to him he went mental.

Episode 10

Tilan exacerbated the situation when she mentioned that she was agreeable to a menage a trois with Zizan, the Emperor beloved wife and Tilan’s doppelganger’s sister.

This really tipped the Emperor to the edge and ordered that he never want to see her again so she is being banished to the South Palace, which is the Siberia of palaces.  It is as good as a prison as it si dilapidated as it has been abandoned.

Fang Zhi is looking better with his new hairstyle.

Despite banishing Tilan to the South Palace, he can’t help but go see her.

But the sight of her makes him sad for Zizan so he told the bemused Tilan that he could never be happy ever again with Zizan.

Meanwhie, Haishi had to dress up as a woman to get away from her hoard of adoring fans who learned of her bravery.

For the first time, Youdo appeared on the scene and saw Haishi girl.

Youdo was the owner of the haberdashery.  He told his assistant that the girl who just came out was beautiful.

The assistant said it was a man dressed in women’s clothes

Youdo just said ‘senseless’

Haishi heard that as Fang Zhu is back in action, he is now expected to marry Madam Ju.

This upset Haishi, she sat in the rain until rescued by Fang Zhu.

The Emperor can’t help himself.  He started to obsess about Tilan.

Haishi had become the new palace minister.

Episode 11

Meanwhile, the Emperor was worried about Tilan’s rabbit so he called ZheLiu to find out what was ailing the rabbit.

It was found that it was clean vegetables.

Haishi had become the new palace minister.  She saw the Emperor and asked him about being transferred to Huangquan immediately.

She can’t take seeing Fang Zhu married to Madam Ju

Episode 12

Haishi is still as insubordinate as ever. She has not learned any military etiquette.  She is giving women a bad name for her temperament and lack of discipline. She is always letting her heart overrule her commonsense which is frustrating Zhouying.

The Emperor felt guilty about Tilan.

Meanwhile, Haishi confessed indirectly her feelings for Shifu.  He said that he shouldn’t do anything to raise her hope because she might do something that she shouldn’t.

Mentally, Fang Zhu was thinking that he cannot return her feelings because he is not a free man.

He had long ago given his life as a Baixi to Emperor Xu.  He pledged his life to take all the misfortune and hardship for the emperor.

Episode 20

For some reason, Tilan dressed up like Zizan which annoyed the Emperor.  So he again lost his respect for her and told her that she can never be like her sister.  So if she can’t understand that he will show her and force himself to her.

I don’t think it was exactly rape as she did not say ‘no or stop’.  She did not even do much complaining nor fight back, she just laid there quietly and thought of what colour to paint the palace ceiling.

Episode 21

The morning after…

While the Emperor was being dressed by the Eunuch, Tilan was still in bed undressed.  The king’s head eunuch gave her a bowl of brown liquid.

When she asked what it was, the eunuch rather nervously said that it was a contraceptive concoction which she must drink.

Tilan drank it while the eunuch was still in the middle to tell her that she was not allowed to have a baby yet as there is currently a vacancy for an Empress who was expected to provide the male heir.

The Emperor saw that Tilan drank the liquid and said that at least she knows her place.

The Emperor perhaps felt a little guilty because he announced during morning court that provisions, money, and medicine will be sent out to Zhinian.

Poor Tilan had a bad side effect from the contraceptive concoction which almost cost her life which was noticed by General Tang, Tang Qianzi and he was rather upset about it.

Meanwhile, Fang Zhu told Haishi that since it was her day-off he would take her to see her mother she had not seen since she was a girl.

Her mother was so happy to see her and Fang Zhu.  Before long the mother was asking Fang Zhu’s family background and how much he earns.  The usual thing is you ask someone you want your daughter to marry.

Anyway, as Madam Ju is dead, the now blind Liuzhu is now the madam of the fabric court and moved into Madam Ju’s quarter.

While slowly getting used to her surrounding, Liiuzhu found three pieces of cloths with Braille writing on it.  Madam Ju had left intel that Fang Zhu was having it off with Haishi who was really a girl.

Poor Liuzhu was shocked.

Episode 22

This is a non-episode.  The highlight is that Lord Chang broke his egg and weed his pants! 🤣🤣🤣

Episode 23

An old woman and her grandson blocked the way of Fang Zhu’s carriage.  She then announced that Fang Zhu was a coward hiding in the shadows pretending to be dead after he caused untold deaths to many people.  She then died as she had taken poison before she did her grandstanding.  Her young grandson also collapsed.

Fang Zhu ordered to take them away.  He had the boy in the carriage with him.  As they were traveling the boy suddenly moved and plunged a knife on Fang Zhu’s shoulder.  The knife was poisoned.

The news about Fang Zhu’s accuser trended and every storyteller in town made use of it.  And this is how Fang Haishi found out about it

She was supposed to go to the border to patrol but she went to find the Emperor in the palace instead.  She asked him to make her a member of imperial guards and she would be protecting the palace.

The Emperor agreed but when Fang Zhu found out about it, he was mighty upset with Haishi.  He told her that she was always disregarding his order, he warned her that she could only do this at a certain point.

Haishi accused Fang Zhu of being untrue to himself.  She said that she wanted to stay as an imperial guard so she could always be at Fang Zhu’s side.  She said that she knew he was in love with her but he was denying his feelings.  She then snogged him but after a while, he pushed her away from him rather too hard.

The humiliated Haishi was on the floor and told him that she would never repeat this mistake again.

Episode 24

As the Emperor and his childlike brother felt the need for more relatives around them, publicised that they want to be in contact.

Chu Lin Lang turned up as as the Emperor said, as she was pretty, then she is a relative and granted her own mansion in Tianqi City with millions of money and so many servants.

She immediately settled in the mansion and Chu Ji Chang became her constant visitor.

The Emperor gave a welcome party for the Princess and asked Tilan to attend as the hostess

The Emperor got jealous of Haishi always around Tilan

When the Emperor brought Tilan to Zizan’s room for sex, Haishi wanted to watch but was stopped by Mu De Qing.

But then the Emperor came out with a bleeding Tilan in his arms after some 50 Shade of Gray eroticism.🤗🤗🤗

Apparently, it was a uterine bleed which was from her sickness as she had not been taking the medication to combat the effect of her allergies to the contraceptive concoction.

Haishi became an agony aunt to the Emperor who wanted to know what he should do if a gentle girl appears to him but despite wanting to treat her kindly he wanted to punish her.

Haishi told him to treat the girl lovingly and try to be with her all the time because the appearance of the girl in his life was a second chance.  The girl obviously made his heart beat again

Episode 25

I have to be honest here before I was loving the Emperor and Tilan’s story but after I heard about a live stream the actress who played Tilan did where she compared her love story with the emperor to that of Sang Qi and Deputy Chief Yan of A Female Student Arrives at the Imperial College, I gone off Tilan and the Emperor.  To the actress, you do not just dismiss any other drama in favour of yours especially when you are not even leading!!!

Anyway, the Emperor found his little drama queen refusing to take her medicine so he told her that from now on he would treat her better.

Haishi reported to Fang Zhu that something was not quite right with Princess Yanling.  The princess was wearing lotus perfume rather than a peony scent.

Fang Zhu said that they cannot just suspect someone who had been elevated by the Emperor.

Fang Zhu was asked to be suspended from his position while the case of the case of the old woman and her grandson was being investigated.  Fang Zhu agreed

The Emperor was upset with Fang Zhu for just giving in easily.

Princess Yangling almost had an accident while gathering lotus flowers on the pond.  Fang Zhu appeared to save her.

Suddenly Haishi had a radar alert and started investigating the princess who seemed to had taken a fancy to Fang Zhu.

Episode 26

Haishi was so jealous of Princess Yanling who was flirting with Fang Zhu she started being more full-on with her feelings with the master.

Fang Zhouying saw the confrontation between the master and Haishi where she told the master that she will not take the hairpin from him if he refused to talk about what she is in his heart.

When the master told that it does not matter to him what she does with the hairpin.  He could even throw it away if she wanted to which she did in a fit of temper.

It broke on the ground.

Fang Zhouying was shocked st what he saw.  He then spoke to the master and told him that Haishi was at a marriageable age and should now be allowed to be a girl.

The master told him to leave.

You Du came to see Zhouying and Haishi talk about perfumes.  They noticed how much he looked like the master.  Seriously I can’t see anything the same at all but apparently, they were almost a doppelganger.

The master saw how Haishi seems to click with You Du that he was jealous.

Meanwhile, he warned Haishi to stay away from Princess Yanling.

Suddenly all the hormones bubbling inside of Haishi started imploding.  She shouted at the Fang Zhu for being so masterful and for treating her like an outsider.

No wonder, the master was having a hard time deciding what to do with her, she is a total shrew.

I must say William Chan is looking really handsome with his current hairstyle

Episode 27

The Emperor was left wondering who Princess Yanling liked.  Was it Fang Zhu or Haishi?

Meanwhile, Haishi found out something about Princess Yanling.  Her former nursemaid said that the princess had a bad scar on her arm from falling off a horse and dragged several feet.

Wanting to find out more about the Princess, Haishi inveigled herself to go to the horse show with the master and the Emperor.  The Princess was also invited and so was Talin but she was too frail to go.

The Emperor started throwing Yanling and Fang Zhu together.

The Emperor has truly fallen in love with gentle Tilan who is becoming boring.

Haishi found out that Princess Yanling might not be a fake one after all because she found a bad scar on the princess’s arm as she helped her from falling off a horse.

Episode 28

Tilan was diagnosed with infertility caused by excessive contraceptive drug intake.

Tilan and the Emperor were very upset about it but he promised Tilan that he was going to cure her.

Meanwhile, Haishi told Zhouying that she will marry the master one day.

Unfortunately for her, the Emperor issued an edict for Fang Zhu to marry Princess Yanling.

This was to prevent Fang Zhu from being banished from Tiang City (Capital)

Fang Zhu spoke to Hashi about the marriage.

Haishi said that it was a good union as the Princess really likes him.

Fang Zhu thought that Haishi had fallen out of love with him and now crushing with YouDo that is why she was not overly bothered that he was marrying Princess Yanling

The wedding was set and Prince Jichang had tasked Haishi to do the wedding shopping.

Haishi was then helped by Youdo whose family most of the shops in the Capital.

Episode 29

Fang Zhu asked the Emperor’s permission to send Haishi for secondment back to Huangquan Pass immediately.

The Emperor commented that Fang Zhu was a bit harsh on Haishi. Why not let Haishi go after the wedding?

Fang Zhu was insistent.

Fang Zhu had told Haishi that it was about time for her to think of the marriage thing.  He wanted her to resign from the army and lead a quiet life and revert back to being a girl.  He said he will marry her off to anyone she has in her heart in a year’s time.

Haishi spent days saying goodbye to everyone before her secondment starts.

She then left fairly early the next morning returning the jade ring back to Fang Zhu

Fang Zhu was very sad about it because it was his most treasured possession given to him by his father when he was a little boy and he really wanted Haishi to have it.

It is the wedding.

It went chaotic.

Princess Yanling made the Emperor drink the poisoned wedding wine which killed him immediately.

Yanling then divulged that her army has surrounded the palace.  It was a coup but not quite.

Because the Emperor is not dead.  The palace was actually ready for any insurrection because the Emperor with Fang Zhu had knew that the Princess is a fake

Episode 30

Princess Yanling was actually Nie Rouling.

Nie Rouling is a cousin of the real princess Yanling, thus was some resemblance.  Rouling also used to visit the palace as her aunt was the past Emperor’s consort

Rouling chose to kill herself rather than reveal the real mastermind.  But beforehand she warned that her death will be avenged.

Now that Fang Zhu is free again, Haishi was flirting again while drunk.

Anyway, Youdo came to see Fang Zhu and told him that he was surrendering Haishi, not because of Fang Zhu but he knew that she was so obsessed with her master.  He would not stand a chance that the master is a free agent again

The master said that his life is not his own and he has not much long to live.

Youdo further explained that there is no reason why the master can’t be together with the Haishi, even one day of being together with the master would be just like heaven on earth to the horny Haishi🤣.  So there is no longer any excuse for the master for any further prevarication.  Just go for it.

Meanwhile, the boring Tilan had completely replaced her sister in the Emperor’s affection.

The Emperor had ordered to remove the portrait painting of Zizan and put away all her belongings including the dragon tail pendant.

Episode 47

Tilan’s pregnancy is beset by ill-health due to the long-term effect of the contraceptive concoction.  The Emperor ordered her to spend time resting.

The Emperor promised her that once she had the baby, he will issue an edict that it will be his successor whether it was a boy or a girl.  He would also make her his empress.

Soulan the Crown Prince of Zhinian came to visit his sister.  Tilan was happy to see him.

Soulan saw the dragon tail necklace around Tilan’s neck.  He told her that he was so happy that the amulet is blessing her.  He also said that he had the expert monk on dragon tail with him but he is not allowed in the palace.

So he insisted that his sister give him her necklace so he could ask the monk to bless it to maximise its potency for good luck and protection.  It would protect her baby and the kingdom.

Tilan was convinced and gave the necklace to Soulan.

Soulan went to General Tang and told him a different story. He said to General Tang that his sister was a sex slave of the Emperor.  She is a victim of domestic violence, Tilan was black and blue from beating.  Aside from that she also suffers from race discrimination, ergo, the reason why her pregnancy had not been announced, she was not good enough to carry the bloodline of the emperor.  Soulan said that Tilan was asking for help.

With this damning report and evidenced by Tilan’s treasured dragon tail pendant, General Tang believed Soulan.

General Tang remembered that he personally saw the Emperor strangling Tilan once and forced her to take in the contraceptive drug.  The General asked Soulan what he would like him to do.

Soulan said that they had to kill the Emperor and make Tilan’s baby the new ruler.  Soulan had it all planned.  He said that if Tilan has a girl, Soulan already has a baby boy to pretend as Tilan’s baby. They could make it look like Tilan had twins.  Tilan could become the queen dowager.

Meanwhile, Haishi and Jianming (Fang Zhu) were enjoying their newly married life in the middle of nowhere.  They live in a lovely cottage in the thick of the forest.

Haishi was loving it because Jianming had become younger and even better looking. The little minx was always cold so he had to make her red hot. 🤗🤗🤗

But these two were not really used to the quiet life.  They were bored silly so they actually ‘welcomed’ the news that the palace was under attack.  They could not wait to get some action in the fighting arena.

The Emperor did not want to tell Lord Jianming because he had already let him go and gave him a fake death so he could disappear.

Haishi and Jianming did not think even for one second not to protect the Emperor and the palace, so they went on their separate ways.  Jianming to the palace and Haishi to get reinforcement.

The Emperor was ready to fight but his composure crumbled when he found out that Tilan had been kidnapped.

OMG, this episode is exciting.

Episode 48

A lot of tears were shed in this episode by yours truly.  But to be honest, I did not understand what really happened in the end.

Anyway, the Emperor went really mental when he found out that Tilan was kidnapped.

Everyone said that he had to stay in the palace for safety as well as the empire’s commander in chief.  He had to lead the empire.

I must say, I almost gagged🤣🤣🤣 when he said, I can’t abandon my love.  Huh????

So against better judgment, he ordered 20 of the elitist soldiers to go with him because he said if the assailants could take Tilan away, he could take her back.

And he did.

Mu De Qing made me cry. When the Emperor tried to retire him with enough money. Mu De Qing refused because he had been with the Emperor most of his life, the Emperor is his family.

On their way back to the palace, they were ambushed by soldiers led by Su Ming, the traitor.

Poor Emperor had to multitask.  Fighting the hundreds of soldiers as well as soothing the screaming Tilan, who was on the onset of giving birth prematurely.

But suddenly, Jianming robed in white came flying by and started fighting the soldiers and told the Emperor to look after Tilan

Tilan was taken to a derelict warehouse while MuDeQing and Bixi acted as her midwives.

Meanwhile, Soulan with his Zhinian soldiers came to attack.  Only the Emperor was there for protection.

And in the end, there were just too many soldiers for him and he got distracted as well when he heard the sound of a baby crying.

The Zhinian soldiers stabbed the Emperor to the wall.  Tilan came out and saw what happened. She run to the Emperor and covered him with her body as the soldiers came to finish him off.

The Emperor was heartbroken and asked Tilan why she did it.

Tilan said that she could not live without him and then died in his arms

Finally, Jianming came and killed every soldier as fast as a hurricane.

He told the Emperor to go with him. He will take him to Physician Liu

The Emperor said that he would like to die with Tilan.  And he was very tired.  He told Jianming to look after Dasheng and his baby.

The Emperor died.

Meanwhile, at the palace gate, General Tang was on the winning side until a signal was seen of the arrival of Madam Pearl and her soldiers.

The palace opened to welcome Madam Pearl who was a whirlwind in white massacring anyone that gets on her way. It was a beautiful balletic scene.

She got to General Tang and defeated him almost instantly.

Haishi/Madam Pearl then got a message that Tilan had died.  Haishi told General Tang that he was instrumental in the death of Tilan.

He was so overcome with guilt, he killed himself.

The new prince was being examined by the royal doctor who said that the baby had not much time to live.  The baby was too premature.

The doctor said he can’t do anything anymore.

It was a sad affair when, Haishi got to the palace because she found out immediately that her beloved husband was first and foremost a bureaucrat rather than a lover, her lover.

Without consulting her, Jianming elected himself as the baby’s bai xi, he will get all the baby’s illness so it could live.

Haishi said that she will stay in the palace to look after the baby.

Jianming told Haishi that he was very tired and fell on her lap and ‘died’?

Now, this gets confusing for me because at least a couple of emperors died and yet in the end Haishi is looking after another child Emperor who was telling her of an excellent teacher he wanted her to meet.

Is this mysterious teacher Jianming?!!!

Yes, he is the Grand Teacher of the young Emperor.  You have to watch to the very end, past the credits.  Jianming is alive and wearing his masked again. (Thanks, Becks)

By the way, Zhouying had gone back to the grassland as he was a real prince of Huku and became Kublai Khan or Babaha Khan, the Black Mane Khan.  He had a happy ending with the blind Zhe Liu, who told him that she had been with him since the beginning as she had been stalking him.  That is a blind adoration. 🤗
