Episode1
I like the first episode, so much so I would like to carry on to the next one.
Wu Shiyi is a feisty and intelligent woman who is now in her thirties.
By all intent and purposes, she should be a successful woman but she is dragged down by a thoughtless father who creates chaos and as a result, Shiyi had to pay for the eventual damages.
Shiyi is not only affected financially but her love life suffers as well as her father is her priority. So her long-time boyfriend cheated on her and she found out about it and she beat him up.
Yes she beat him up because she can, she is a strong woman, she works as a bodyguard.
Unfortunately, she does not get the choice assignment anymore because of her age. After a recent work examination, it was decided that she was not as agile as her younger colleague.
To add insult to injury, she was tasked with deliveries instead of guarding someone.
She was delivering an important document to a company when she noticed another delivery person who was behaving rather strangely.
After she had her document signed and stamped by the boss, she would have gone but the other delivery person was niggling at her.
She returned to the company and the delivery guy holding a knife to CEO Hou Zhirong.
Quick witted Shiyi pretended to be a secretary and brought water into the room for the CEO. She was able to get behind the assailant and fell him to the ground. She then left as quickly as she can because she was late for the next part of her delivery.
Because of it, she was suspended from work for a month.
CEO Hou Zhirong ended in the hospital. His son, Hou Jie was with him. The CEO moaned at his good-for-nothing son, who can’t settle into the job in their constructions company, The CEO told his son that he feared that Hou Jie would bankrupt the company which has been passed to him by his family.
Hou Jie just did not care. His passion is women and doing dangerous stunts like joining a rescue mission but going solo, not a team player at all.
Episode 2
Hou Jie started receiving death threats so Hou Zhirong hired a bodyguard for his son.
He had Wu Shiyi in mind. She is mature and can control his son.
Episode 3
Wu Shiyi may be mature by her charge is so immature. He put her in a lot of troublesome situations just to test her.
The latest one of his antics was to gatecrash the wedding of a girlfriend who dumped him unceremoniously days before her wedding to someone else;
He got his back on her by announcing during the weddings to her inlaws, parents, friends and families that she was basically a gold-digging harlot.
Episode 4
Despite trying to concentrate at work, someone was sabotaging his reputation and good work.
Someone hacked into his computer and issued an email saying that the company is a dinosaur and his father had dated ideas.
His father believed that he did not write the email but it just got too much for his father when during a presentation of Hou Jie’s project, the projector screen showed women in skimpy outfits.
His father told him off for having his brain on other things.
Wu Shiyi showed a video to the CEO of Hou Jie working on the project all night.
The CEO was forced to apologise to his son but he said the project design is now useless because it obviously got on the wrong hands already.
Episode 5
Hou Jie was upset that Xiao Han, the newly recruited designer did not get invited to the party that celebrates winning a commission based on Xiao Han’s design.
Hou Zhi Rong said that Xiao Han is just a staff. He doesn’t have managerial skills.
Still, Hou Jie felt bad for Xiao Han.
So he was especially nice to Xiao Han at work but he found that his father was right, Xiao Han was really nervy, he won’t be able to manage Project 8.
meanwhile, during the party, Wawa introduced herself to Hou Jie. Wawa was sent by her manager to attract Hou Jie but it looks like Wawa was crushing.
Ma Yong continues to plot against HouZhirong and Hou Jie because he overheard the father and son conversation about Ma Rong being an outsider.
Hai Xing invited Xiao Chen to dinner at his restaurant. He can’t believe that she actually said yes.
Episode 6
Shiyi’s father had a heart attack after going to Da Peng’s apartment. The father went to apologise to Dapeng thinking that Shiyi did Dapeng wrong by having an affair. Instead, the father found Dapeng already living with another woman. He put two and two together and realised that it was Dapeng who had done the cheating but had spread gossips that it was Shiyi.
Episode 7
Ma Yong and Xiaomin had stolen 20,000,000 from the company and deposited it at Solomon Island.
Episode 8
Hou Jie and Shiyi found Ma Yong and Xiaomin in flagrante delicto when they return to the office to retrieve an SD card.
Ma Yong begged Hou Jie not to tell his father as it was forbidden to have an office romance.
Wa Wa is trying to encroach into Hou Jie’s life. She called him to ask him to get her somewhere to stay as her current abode is inhabitable.
Then when the director on her live streaming wanted to have her hair cut really short, she called Hou Jie to complain that she was being bullied.
Episode 9
Ma Yong let it slip ‘accidentally’ that Hou Zhirong paid off Huang Yue so she breaks up with Hou Jue.
Hou Jue went to confirm this with Huang Yue who said that she was paid 1,000,000 to leave Hou Jue. She said she needed the money to open a bakery and pay off her parents’ debt.
Hou Jue felt sorry for her and ended up apologising. He is so soft-hearted, he took Shiyi to a jewelry store to buy a necklace for Wa Wa, who he thinks is pitiful.
Episode 10
Wa Wa blurted that Hou Jue was more than a boyfriend. He had already asked to marry her and given her a ring but she was too scared to lose it so she dare not wear it.
The director in her shoot liked the romance of it and he instructed to ask her fiance to shoot a footage of them choosing a wedding dress.
Hou Jue did not know anything about it so he played along at first even having his photo taken with Wa Wa and the wedding store owner.
It finally twigged on him when the cameramen kept taking a reaction shoot of him. When he complained they said that it was natural to take his photo as he was the groom. WaWa/Lulu’s fiance.
Hou Jue at least denied it and said that they were just friends. He then immediately left with Shiyi. But it was his own fault, he was always running after the conniving Wawa.
Hou Jue is a sucker for helping women. Probably this time, he let Wawa down because he was beginning to see Shiyi as a woman especially when Lan Qi, a college friend/sweetheart of Shiyi suddenly turned up.
He saw that Lan Qi was a vast improvement from Shiyi’s last boyfriend.
Episode 11
Hou Jue went on a rescue mission but being enthusiastic rather than capable, he ended up the one being rescued by his team and Shiyi. But he did redeem himself because he found a body or someone missing.
Bao Xiao Han saw from his Weibo chats that Hou Jue was marrying Wawa/lulu. He immediately bought a wedding present for them and gave it to Hou Zhi Rong to score a point.
Hou Zhi Rong was absolutely fuming that Hou Jue was getting married without telling him. He called Hou Jue who did not deny the wedding just to irritate his father who he had not forgiven for interfering with his last love affair.
Anyway, Hou Jue forgave Wawa/Lili and agreed to meet up for lunch.l
During lunch, he noticed that she was not wearing her necklace, she said that it was too valuable but she does bring it with her everywhere and just to prove it, she took it from her handbag and showed him the necklace.
He said it was just a necklace.
He said he was going to the toilet.
Wawa said she was going too.
Wawa/lulu’s manager disguised as a pregnant woman went ahead to the toilet.
Of course, Shiyi had to follow Hou Jue.
Lulu went to the loo but came out after handing the necklace to her manager. She then went out of the toilet to give her handbag to Shiyi to look after.
The manager let herself out and went to dispose of her false stomach and wig to the bin outside.
They were back at the table, suddenly Lulu started screeching that her necklace was gone and her prime suspect was Shiyi. She fitted Shiyi in because she was scared that Shiyi tells Hou Jue that she sometimes doubles as a call girl to rich businessmen. She knew Shiyi overheard her when talking to her manager over the phone previously.
The three ended up at the police station. There is no evidence against or to completely clear her.
Anyway, Wawa was making such a scene and Hou Jue was not believing her and he got more annoyed with her when Shiyi was recalled by her agency because they received a report.
Hou Jue was really annoyed with Wawa who said that he should be comforting and not scolding her.
Hou Jue to told her to go away.
Shiyi and Hou Jue drove back to the restaurant to find evidence.
Episode 12
Shiyi found the false pregnant stomach as well the long wig which the police took for forensic.
Shiyi was replaced by a male bodyguard.
Episode 13
Shiyi was back at the training centre/HQ. Her duty was now to become a horse trial or a human punchbags by new trainees and learners of self-defence like Hai Xing.
Hou Jue was at the training centre begging the management to be more lenient to Shiyi as he believed wholeheartedly that she was innocent.
The boss said that it is company rule to recall their people who are under investigation.
Hou Jue was stunned to see how Shiyi was being punched, kicked and thrown about and then he saw Hai Xing doing it to Shiyi.
Hou Jue went mental and started punching Hai Xing.
Hou Zhirong met Xiao Xian at the golf course, they seemed to be attracted with one another. Yuck.
So if Shiyi ends up with Hou Jue, Xiao Xian will become the stepmother of her best friend Shiyi?
Episode 14
Hou Jue met up with Wawa to try and reason with her again.
She was unmoved at first but when he said that when the police find out the truth, she was on her own.
The next day, Wawa called asking Hou Jue to go to the police station with her.
She was just about to tell all but the police ushered her manager and that they had found the necklace with her.
They would have been jailed but Hou Jue bailed them out.
Wawa decided to cut her working relationship with her manager as she was going back to her parents in the rural area.
Episode15
Shiyi is back at guarding Hou Jue. They were falling in love.
Hou Zhurong with a 29 years age gap with Xiao Qian are also falling in love
Episode 16
Hou Zhurong and Xiao Qian are officially in a relationship but Zhurong asked her to keep it a secret for now.
Despite being a secret, Xiao Qian is getting fringe benefits from the relationship. Zhruong lent her his car to fetch her family from the airport who had come to stay with her.
Zhurong then arranged an exclusive club for an expensive for her whole family. Then he lent them his villa.
Yep, Xiao Qian is certainly lucky with Zhurong’s money.
Poor Hai Xing found out about her family so came to ask Xiao Qian to bring her family to his restaurant.
Xiao Qian dumped him for the rich Zhurong.
Poor Hou Jue would be left with nothing with Ma Yong sabotaging the business as well.
Shiyi was invited to a wedding which she turned down at first but Hou Jue insisted that she goes and bring him with her.
Episode 17
Hou Jue arranged for a make-over for Shiyi.
She looks lovely and expensive. At the wedding, her ex was there with his new wife and also Lan Qi.
Later Hou Jue hijacked the wedding by confessing to Shiyi and asking her to be his girlfriend. I must say I don’t like tropes like this because I feel sorry for the bride and groom because it is their day.
Xiaomei also went to the stage and announced that she was pregnant with Dapeng’s baby.
Episode 18
Xiao Qian is enjoying her new boyfriend and the wealth that goes with him. The poker-faced Xiao Qian had turned gooey every time she was with Zhirong.
As a reward, he told her that she should quit her job and move permanently to the villa with all her family. She can then travel all over the world with them with no expense spared.
Xiao Qian said that she will think about it. I thought she was a feisty and independent woman but then she was willing to consider being a kept woman of a man 29 years older than her. But then again, Zhirong is really handsome with generous.
As much as he was enjoying his new love life, Zhirong asked Hou Jue to go on a blind date with the daughter of his business friends.
Hou Jue was ok with it and tried to see if Shiyi would get jealous.
Hai Xing needed rescuing as his jeep fell into the lake.
Shiyi had a moment when he saw Hai Xing in the water.
Hou Jue later confessed that he was phobic about water.
