Episode 1
The first episode is funny and really enjoyable.
Yu Jian and Liang Jie have really good chemistry.
The period setting is during the end of the Qing Dynasty to the cusp of the Republican Era.
Kong Xue Li had just come back from abroad and had been made the sheriff. He had to work with a young coroner, Fang Dong while mightily flirting with Lian Hai Ping, the beautiful owner of a restaurant.
Kong Xue Li was trying to implement his modern ideas against the antiquities of China who still believes in the old mambo jumbos.
Their first case was the infamous Red Feast Invitation.
Apparently whoever received an invitation and take it up will never be seen again.
One of the police received one while at home. His worried mother dragged him to the police station to report it.
Detective Kong who dresses in a western three-piece suit complete with a deerstalker hat a la Sherlock Holmes, to the mother and son to leave the invitation with him. He will go to the feast himself.
The feast apparently was every man’s dream. Lots of women, food, drinks, gambling, and entertainment hosted by the fox fairy.
The villagers bade Sheriff Kong goodbye not expecting to see him again.
When Sheriff Kong got to the venue, he was far from intimidated. He had the time of his life.
Love this drama, it is like lifted from a comic book and almost like a slapstick comedy.
Episode 2
Man!! Where should I start? Leave it I am not going to complain…. Was great in start but started getting me irritated after the 14 episode.
So dull and full of holes also, has the same problem as every other drama… Man is cretin and woman is the symbol greatness… Relationship dynamics totally tilted in all the wrong ways possible.
Start until the 14episode was great as it delivered as much as it said it would do. The stars that o gave are purely based on first 14episodes
In every stage after the female lead breaks up with the male lead she superficially pursues another man and yet male lead wags his tail not just that, every time in the episodes there are times where other characters try to legitimize her action or she shows emotions as if she loves and carres about the male lead… To simply put it, it’s cringey and wrong.
Does that mean it is not worth wasting my time on it? Thanks for the warning.
