Episode 1
Xuhan was an art training centre owner in Beijing for eight years but lately, he was feeling jaded and yearnin for something he doesn’t really know what yet.
He went to his old hometown, Boshan where he met a woman who intervened when a family group asked him for money as they have lost their money and can’t get back home.
The woman overheard it and said that the family was scammers. They’d already asked for money from her.
Anyway, the family was really scammers because they pretended that the woman had poked the father in his eyes.
So as not to make the issue more complicated, Xuhan said that his wife (the woman) did not mean any harm. He tried to pacify the conman. But they all ended in the police station and the conman and his gang were apprehended.
The woman, who Xuhan had now jokingly called his wife, was Du Xiaoyu.
She returned to Boshan at the same time as Xuhan. She works in a big company in Beijing that after six years she was burnt out and wanted a change.
She tried to give her resignation many times but she would chicken out at the last minute. Anyway someone in the company talked with her and advised her not to be impulsive. He said why not take some leave and clear her mind and then make her decision.
So with her beloved dog, Patton, she went back home to her mum and dad.
Her parents told her that they are closing their glass factory as it was not viable to run it anymore.
She was sad about it.
Meanwhile, Xuhan stayed in a modern Homestay and absolutely fell in love with it. He thought he finally found what he was looking for, he wants his own Homestay and Du Xiaoyu who he fell in love at first sight as well.
He went back to Beijing and sold Beijing Yihan Art and now he was ready to go back full time to Boshan.
He bought a little glass necklace pendant and gave it to Du Xiaoyu who was excited to see the pendant as being a sign that she should stay and manage her family’s glass factory.
Episode 2 – 3
The return to Boshan was so complicated, especially for Du Xiaoyu.
Her father absolutely forbade her to take over the glass factory because he said it was a thankless job.
He was abusive to those who tried to help her including a newly arrived Secretary Zhang who had been assigned to improve and promote business in the rural areas.
Secretary Zhang was very encouraging to Du Xiaoyu but the father told her to go away as his daughter is returning to Beijing.
It did not help either when Qin Sheng turned up and told the father that the company in Beijing wanted Du Xiaoyu back and they would double her salary to 400,000.
Her father told her that the most they earned as a profit from the factory was 100,000 so it was no brainer to go back to Beijing.
Du Xiaoyou however had made up her mind and now stays at Grandma’s house.
Xuhan had been looking for something to rent but everything that he likes tends to be too expensive or no longer available for lease.
The last property was Grandma’s.
Xuhan had a talk with the father, he said that if the father rents the house to him then Du Xiaoyou won’t have a house to stay in anymore which will force her to go back to Beijing. However, he can only afford 30,000 for the rent.
