Quick Precis

Mu Ting Zhou is a certified A-lister actor, adored like god by his many fans.

This cold and temperamental actor met an accident which caused him to lose his memory.

His amnesia resulted in him thinking that he was the Royal Grand Tutor of Ancient time and Ming Wei, who is a young actress was his royal princess.

Poor innocent Ming Wei is confused by her idol’s grandstanding and utter craziness.

It sounds fun.

Episode 1

Mu Ting Zhou is a very popular actor, who is considered one of the best in the business.  He is really focused on each role he takes and would go to great lengths to research the character.

He was being driven in a car when he noticed a girl in hanfu standing next to his life-size photo in a billboard at a bus stop.   The girl looked so good next to Mu Ting Zhou’s advertisement for lipstick and he realised it.

It looks like they were destined to meet because it turned out Ming Wei, the girl is an aspiring actress and also part-time as an interpreter.

She was the interpreter hired by the Italian businessman who was meeting Mu Ting Zhou.

In the end, she was redundant as Mu ting Zhou was fluent in Italian.

The meeting did not end there because a young guy was in the same restaurant.  He was on a date with another girl which upset Ming Wei as she was also dating him.

She broke up with him despite him saying that the girl refused to break up.

Anyway, Mu Ting Zhou’s new historical drama is casting the female lead.  Mu Ting Zhou was in attendance when they were choosing the girl among four candidates.

Mu Ting Zhou put a lot on input and subsequently, Ming Wei got the job.

She started going to lectures that might be able to help her with her role.  She met Mu Ting Zhou.

As he was rather hard to deal with as she had found out before, Ming Wei tried to keep away from him but as luck would have it, they got into the same lift together.

To make it less awkward, Ming Wei said that she was hoping she could learn from Mu Ting Zhou more about acting.

Mu Ting Zhou took her seriously and said he was willing to train her during his free time but she had to show sincerity.  He then moved towards her which rather scare Ming Wei.

Episode 2

Ming Wei made it clear that she was not prepared to sell herself.  She passed Mu Ting Zhou’s test and told her that he was prepared to give her a day to prove herself as an actress.

Her first day was terrible. The director was getting frustrated because take after take, Ming Wei was just not getting it right.

She was so embarrassed she ate her lunch crouching on the ground stopping herself from bursting into tears.

Chen Zhang was a friendly actor who tried to cheer her up.

What Ming Wei did not know was that Mu Ting Zhou had been convincing the director to give her a chance.  She is a newbie but she has a hidden talent.

Ming Wei’s ex-boyfriend Cheng Yao came to the set.  He is a chaebol and an investor in drama productions.

Episode 3

This episode is cute.

Anyway, Cheng Yao made MIng Wei think that it was all due to his investment that she got the role of the female lead.  She owed it all to him.

Ming Wei was very upset about it and thought of giving up the part but the penalty fee was more than she could afford.

She promised Cheng Yao that she will transfer all the money she gets after the drama had wrapped.

Tingzhou, through his agent, Xiao Zhao, corrected what Ming Wei was led to believe.  It was all due to Tingzhou that she got the part.  Tingzhou fought for her.

Ming Wei was so happy she hugged Tingzhou.

This drama has another drama within it.  It is the drama that they were filming.  It is a historical costume drama where Ming Wei plays Princess Ming Hua and Tingzhou was the Grand Tutor.

The Grand Tutor saw that the young Princess Ming Hua was falling for him so he requested the Emperor to transfer him to the North Border.  The Grand Tutor has feelings for the Princess as well but he comes from a very humble background.

Princess Ming Hua was upset and tried to give the Grand Tutor her pouch with the promise that she will wait for him no matter how long.

The Grand Tutor turned down the pouch and told her that he was never coming back.

The Grand Tutor was now leading the army but as soon as he heard that the palace was being besieged he returned and almost singlehandedly defeated the usurpers.

He found Princess MInghua fighting off someone trying to kill her.

Thankfully, he was there to save her and she hugged him in love and gratitude.

Now, everything had settled in the kingdom and the Crown Prince was not sitting on the throne as the new Emperor.

He noticed that his sister who saved him was really so into the newly promoted Minister, who used to be the Grand Tutor

Will he marry his beloved sister to a minister?

Anyway, the director had told Tingzhou and Ming Wei that a kissing scene was integral to the story.  He acknowledged that Tingzhou never did kissing scenes in all his dramas and films but…

Tingzhou said he would do it.

Tingzhou spent a day with Ming Wei taking her to the cinema watching a film with torrid kissing scenes apparently to unlock the emotion.

He then drove her to a scenic romantic place and told her to get on with it.  Telling her to kiss him.

Ming Wei thought that he was liking her for real and she got bashful and told him that they were moving too fast.

Tingzhou said that they need to practice the kissing scene.

Ming Wei realised what he was after so she prepared for a kiss but she became shy.

He reminded her that they would be shooting the kiss, so she was ready this time and went for a kiss and noticed how nervous and stressed he was.  She noticed that he was not used to kissing.

She told him that she will be alright during the shoot.

Meanwhile, her sister Ming Qiao came to visit her but saw Xiao Zhao instead.

One thing I noticed with this drama is the editing.  It is so jerky, some scenes do not make sense. But It is enjoyable.

Episode 4

The Emperor had told the Grand Tutor/Minister that he was now of marriageable age so he should get married.  The Emperor said that he only has to say who he wanted to marry and he will grant it.

The Grand Tutor Minister and Princess Ming Hua got married but not to each other.

The Emperor said that the Minister can marry anyone but not his sister.

Ming Hua was very upset that the Grand Tutor was marrying someone else.  But she kissed him to remember her by and told him that she will marry as well on the same day as the Grand Tutor gets married.

She then left him sobbing his eyes out as he cannot go against the Emperor’s edict.

Then years on, Princess Ming Hua went to see the Grand Tutor begging him to save her two children who were going to be put to death because her consort husband had been found guilty of treason.

She went down on her knees begging which broke Grand Tutor’s heart.  He told her that his one mission in life was to make sure she never beg from anyone in her life.  He assured her that even if it costs his life he will beg the Emperor to pardon her children.

With a last hug, they parted.

The Grand Tutor went to see the Emperor but he was prevented to, he fought the guards and managed to reach the Emperor’s Court.  He begged the Emperor from outside to pardon the Princess’s children but the Emperor remained unmoved.

Princess Ming Hua heard that her children has been sent for termination so she ordered her lady in waiting to prepare her poison.  They dressed her in a beautiful jade floaty hanfu.  She drank her poisoned wine and laid down never to wake.  So sad.

Meanwhile, the Grand Tutor aged overnight.  He knew he was defeated so staggered off home.

Their drama is a wrap.

Episode 5

It is  wrap. But Tingzhou was feeling uneasy.  He was taking it personally.  He can’t let go of the drama as if it had become a part of him. He seemed possessed by the drama of is character.

Anyway, it was time for dubbing.  He made it certain that his dubbing coincided with Ming Wei’s dubbing time.

It was not a smooth one as Tingzhou was behaving like a lovesick man.  He kept making mistakes that even Ming Wei was surprised.

Anyway, they did finish.

Tingzhou offered Ming Wei a lift during a rainy evening but Ming Wei said that she was going to meet up with girlfriends as they will be bridesmaids to another friend.  Tingzhou was going to confess to her but her taxi had arrived.

Episode 6

Tingzhou was kicking himself for not making his move with Ming Wei.  He was rather destructed he crashed his car.

When he came to all he could think was Princess Ming Hua and their aborted love story.  He thought that in their next lifetime he will never let anyone keep them apart.  He then fell unconscious again inside his car.

Ming Wei was with her friends discussing why Ming Wei was even chosen as a bridesmaid when she really did not get on with the bride.  The bride said that they can choose any style of bridesmaids’ dress, so the friends laughingly agreed to choose the really expensive ones.

Ming Wei then heard that Tingzhou had an accident and in the hospital.

Actually this drama is pretty boring so don’t bother to watch!
