Episode 1

Su Yu is being forced to get engaged with Gu Man Man by his grandfather who promised Gu Man Man’s grandfather of closer relationship one day.

However, Su Yu knew that Gu Man Man was obsessed with acquiring the Su’s business rather than a love match marriage with Su Yu.

Therefore, Su Yu canceled the engagement but Gu Man Man disappeared on the face of the earth.

Su Yu’s grandpa was heartbroken and continuously begged Su Yu to look for Gu Man Man.

One day he met a girl with curley hair big glasses who looked like Gu Man Man.

Su Yu thought she was actually Gu Man Man.

The girl was Qiao Mai who was adopted and whose adopted family treated her like a second citizen.

She was delivering something to a building when all of a sudden a man looked into her face and called her Gu Man Man.

Episode 2

A girl at work was victimising Qiao Mai because their colleagues said that Qiao Mai is the prettiest among them.

The other girl got very upset and jealous because she was the manager’s girlfriend.

She plotted to get Qiao Mai sacked by making out that Qiao Mai was a kleptomaniac.

The girl got Qiao Mai’s bag and tipped it over.  Qiao Mai’s things are scattered on the floor including the girl’s lipstick.  The manager saw it and told Qiao Mai to resign rather harshly.

Then Su Yu walked in.  He was very annoyed and told them that if they are lying about the lipstick he would sack the lot of them.

A boy said that Qiao Mai did not take the lipstick.  He saw the villain girl put the lippy inside Qiao Mai’s bag.

The Manager took the lipstick and drew extra large lips on his girlfriend’s face.

Anyway, Su Yu told Qiao Mai to go with him to his office next door where he gave her a contract to become his fiancee for a month.

Qiao Mai refused to sign and then left hurriedly.

When she got home, she asked her mother if she had a sister when they adopted her.  Her mother was very ambiguous.

Meanwhile, Su Yu’s assistant waited for her all day.

Episode 3

Qiao Mai’s mother borrowed money and invested in a get rich quickly fund.  Now she lost the lot and told Qiao Mai that they had to sell their house to pay the debt.

The house is the most important to her as it was left to them by her father. So without many options she agreed to become Suyu’s fake fiancee.

Episode 4

Grandpa was very happy to see Gu Man Man/Qiao Mai again.  He was so kind and lovely to her, Qiao Mai changed her mind and left.

Episode 5

At home, the loan shark was trying to take her brother with them.  Qiao Mai asked her mother what she did with the money she had just given her?

Her mother said that she saw a good opportunity and invested in it but it was all gone, again.

Her mother said that they just have to sell the house. When Qiao Mai refused, her mother shoved her out and this was seen by Suyu who followed her.

He paid off the loan shark.

Qiao Mai’s mother was trying to ingratiate herself to Suyu but the brother said that Qiao Mai was just the rich guy’s mistress.

Suyu was so annoyed and threatened to get the loan shark to take the boy unless he apologised on bended knees to Qiao Mai.

Suyu took her away anywhere she wanted.  Qiao Mai had too much to drink and ended up kissing a surprised Suyu.

Episode 6

Grandpa adores Manman and made her promised not to disappear again.

Suyu’s childhood sweetheart, Lin Shao Shao, was determined to catch Suyu for herself now that Gu Man Man had disappeared.

She was just about to seduce a resisting Suyu when Manman walked in.

Episode 7

Shao Shao noticed something peculiar about Manman.  Manman does not know her so Shao Shao knew that she Manman was a fake Manman😭.

Shao Shao was beginning to enjoy herself and grabbed Manman’s bag.

Manman slapped her.  Suyu turned up and warned Shao Shao that shed stepped outside the line.

Shao Shao called her brother to bemoan that she had been slapped.  Her brothe Duoduo turned up as asked who slapped her.

She told him it was Manman.

After his initial shock, he started looking for Manman which only annoyed Shao Shao.

Next, Duoduo found out where Manman lives.  He brought a couple of photos with him and showed them to Qiao Mai’s mother and brother.  He said he will give them a lot of money if they could arrange a meet-up with Manman.

Episode 8

Suyu started treating Manman as a real girlfriend which excited Qiao Mai.

They were having some intimate moments when her mother called to tell her that Lin Duoduo came to the house with a photo of her and another girl.

Her mother said that they had not told him anything.

Suyu wondered how Doudou found out where she lives.

Qiao Mai said that they should tell Grandpa the truth before someone else does.

After a while, Suyu agreed but when it came down to it they can’t tell grandpa because he said that liars are the people he hated the most.

This mini-drama, though full of tropes, is rather charming.  I like it.  Really watchable.

Episode 9

To prove to her that he really likes her, he had to cook her egg noodles like her father used to.  She said that though he was only her adoptive father, she loved him the most.

Episode 10 – 11

Luo Da, Suyu’s assistant warned him about Qiao Man that it was too coincidental to meet Manman’s doppelganger when they desperately wanted to find Manman.  Luo Da also said that Manman stole important documents before she disappeared.

Suyu was rather perturbed by this information so when he saw Qiao Man picking something from a chair in his office and trying to hide it behind her back he became suspicious.

Suyu noticed that it was just a pen so he calm down.

Anyway, he took Qiao Mai to the board meeting where they had to vote on whether to go ahead with a project to make a village a tourist spot or not.

It was a not that surprised and irritated one of the board members when Qiao Mai voted no when it was her project as Manman.

When Qiao Mai asked Suyu about it, he was not forthcoming so she left to meet Duoduo who was so cute.

Duoduo told her a lot of things and truly sympathised that she had lost her memory but was willing to help her.  He told her that he had loved her since they were babies.

Episode 12

Suyu ordered Luo Da to continue looking for the real Gu Manman.

Qiao Mai spent the day with Duoduo who was very talkative, Qiao Mai can’t get away.

Shao Shao saw them so she called Suyu to say that Manman was with another man.

Episode 13

Suyu got so jealous of Qiao Mai with another man, he was so horrible to her.  He told her that he had enough money why go to another man.

Qiao Mai was beyond insulted she left.

But the problem was just starting for Suyu.

Qiao Mai’s mother turned up at his grandfather’s house because she could not find Qiao Mai.

Grandpa got so stressed and confused about what was going on.

Episode 14

Suyu told Grandpa about Qiao Mai not being the real Manman.

Grandpa was very understanding and told Suyu that Qiao Mai might not be the real Manman but Qiao Mai has real feelings for Suyu,

Qiao Mai got home and her mother immediately asked for the tuition fees for her brother and family support as Qiao Mai had married a rich man.

Qiao Mai gave her debit card to her mother and told her that she has a new job as a lifeguard.

Episode 15

Duo Duo and Shao Shao found Manman by the seaside.

Manman told them that she was now the guardian of the sea.  Duo Duo immediately said that he wanted to be the guardian of the sea as well.

Shao Shao asked Manman if she had broken up with Suyu.

Manman said sort of..

Shao Shao told Manman not to worry as she was going to be looking after Suyu from now on.

Episode 15

Shao Shao did go to Suyu and threw herself at him.  He turned her down like she was something so irritating.

Shao Shao left him and was rather upset.

Meanwhile Suyu asked Luo Da to take his heartbeat.  Between them, they concluded that he was missing Qiao Mai.

Duo Duo was so lovely to Qiao Mai.  He told her to just be happy.

Suyu and Qiao Mai reconciled.
