Episode 1

I love the first episode.  Seven is just the cutest and Kenny is always drop-dead gorgeous in suits.

The story is believable but a tragic comedy to start with.

Ning Meng was a finance graduate and interned at Lu Ji MIng’s company.  She wanted to be in the product development but seeing that she was a very capable secretary, she was made Lu Ji Ming’s secretary with a promise of transfer in three years’ time 1 April 2022.

It was that day and she was so looking forward to it.

After starting work promptly, being the go-between of directors and clients to Lu Ji MIng she was agog for the end of the day., the day.  Her three years is up.

She became more excited when Lu Ji Ming asked her to book a restaurant for the two of them after the award ceremony that they had just attended.

During dinner, he gave her a Chanel bag but she said she did not want it.  Then there were flowers and cakes being delivered and she got nervous but not as nervous as Lu Ji MIng thinking that Ning Meng has a crush on him when she kept reminding him what is the significance of 1 April aside from being an April’s fool day.

She told him that she was promised a transfer to Project development.  She doesn’t want to be a secretary anymore.

“You can’t”, he said immediately then started telling her that she should be grateful as she has a cushy job that even a chimpanzee with a little higher IQ can do.

Their argument got worst as she got slightly merry with red wine.  She insisted for him to go to her house, where she showed him an untidy apartment and everything in it has something to do with him as his secretary.  She told him she was tired of it.  She wanted a life of her own.

It ended with her throwing him out with his shoes and the Chanel back out of her door.

Love the drama.

Episode 2

No matter what Ning Meng says to Lu Ji Ming, she was met with the same puerile and demeaning comments that she doesn’t have the ability and capability to become a successful investor.  She was better off as a secretary.

However, as a sweetener, she was given twice her salary and 10 days extra to take a holiday before resuming her job.

It was embedded in her psyche to become an investor so she could rescue and encourage potential entrepreneurs, remembering that her father was once that entrepreneur who no one gave the time of day.

Given that Ji MIng won’t give her any choice, she gave him her resignation paper.

Episode 3

Ji Ming went ballistic and shouted at Ning Meng to leave at once.  He then qualified it by saying she could go to the product development.

Ning Meng was so happy but Ji Ming was upset because he relied on Ning Meng greatly as she was the one he trusted the most.

He told her that he was giving her two months to make her mark at Division 2 and if does not work, she had to return as his secretary or leave his company altogether.

Ning Meng was treated with suspicion at Division 2.  Mr Qiu, the division leader thought that Ning Meng was spying for Ji Ming so he asked his second in command to task Ning Meng with the tedious job, and then with a project that had been left on the sideline for so long because of its complicated background.

Ning Meng was now working for Shi Ying.

Ning Meng was as surprised as Ji Ming to see her outside the apartment of Ceng Yu Hang.

Ning Meng said that she had moved into the opposite apartment.

Ji Ming asked her how much Shi Ying was paying her to afford a plush apartment.

Ning Meng told him that he knew she did not leave because of money.

Anyway, Shi Ying was very happy with Ning Meng and was giving her more work.

Episode 9

Eaglestone and Venture Capital were working together to invest in Y2 Project.  It got so frustrating for Ning Meng as she was being treated abominably by both Mr Feng of Y2 and Ji Ming of Venture Capital.

Mr Feng thought that she was too young and too lowly to be in charge of the Y2 while Ji Ming was asking for documents he needed one item at a time and she almost had to do battle for them when she asked the very uncooperative Mr Feng.

She later learned that Ju Ming had actually been rather indulgent of her.  So she apologised to him but he thought she was not sincere.

So when he got drunk and had her called to fetch him from a bar, she went.

She was surprised to see a face from the past.

It was Su Wei Ran, her college senior and crush.

Episode 14

They were drinking on the hotel/motel rooftop when Ning Meng tripped after stepping into a beer bottle.

She accidentally fell on top of Ju Ming who was sitting on a chair.  Her lips touched his lips which shocked them both but they pretended that nothing happened.

But something happened because Ning Meng finally saw Ju Ming as a rather fanciable guy.

Episode 15

In the post-accidental kiss, Ning Meng and Ju Ming became more awkward with each other.

Ning Meng tried to avoid him but it was not easy because Ju Ming had almost camped at Ceng Yu Hang’s apartment opposite Ning Meng’s place.

To get away from him, Ning Meng volunteered to attend a workshop of entrepreneurs looking for investors.

Ning Meng was surprised to find that Ju Mng was one of the judges.

During their free time, Ning Meng wanted to get away for a while and go boating but her plan was scuppered by Ju Ming who wanted to speak with her.

So they ended up in the middle of the lake and had no way to get back as they both can’t paddle towards the bank.

Ji Ming said that they had to speak about what happened.  He said that it was a mistake that they were drunk.  He added that he hopes she was not into him.  All he could offer her was friendship.

Ning Meng said that she absolutely does not fancy him.  She said that she had someone she already liked after he said that he liked someone else.

Ji Ming still wanted to know who she likes.

No way that they could get back to the shore, In the end, they had to be towed into the bank of the lake.

Episode 16

Ning Meng realised that she had become a semi-permanent member of the Lu Family.  She was always being asked to bring Ji Ming to see his father.  No matter how much she told Ji Ming’s stepmother that she no longer works for Ji Ming or at his company, the stepmother still relies on Ning Meng.

The family get-together was to celebrate Ji Ming’s birthday.  It started awkwardly but ended chaotically immediately because Ji Ming and his father do not see eye-to-eye.  They are so much alike.  Ji Ming could not help but bring out the reason why his mother left.  In the end, Ji Ming walked out in disgust.

Poor Ning Meng had to follow him and later fed him his birthday noodles in her apartment.

Ning Meng’s best friend had come to visit.  Ning Meng went to get You Qi at the airport.  She then noticed Ji MIng also being at the airport and was hugging a woman.

Ning Meng was rather shocked. Is Han Yi Meng the woman that Ji Ming said he likes?

Episode 20

Ji Ming and Han Yi Meng went to see a movie.  But Ji Ming got distracted when he saw Ning Meng was on a date with Wei Ran and they were looking like they were having such a good time.

Ji Ming was livid with jealousy.

Episode 21

Yi Meng realised that Ji Ming and Ning Meng have a natural affinity.  They were just so natural together.

So she decided to have a heart-to-heart talk with Ji Ming.  They agreed that they were really not meant to be and whatever romantic feelings he had for her were not there anymore.

Episode 22

Yi Meng left,

Meanwhile, Hu Hang told Ji Ming to go get Ning Meng because she had really became pretty with many suitors including Su Wei Ran.

Ji Ming did not waste any time.  He went to Ning Meng’s apartment as asked to speak with her.  After going rather round and round at first and even telling Ning Meng that Wei Ran was untrustworthy, he finally told her that he liked her.

Ning Meng was not very impressed.  She told him that she has a boyfriend.

Yes, she was now dating Wei Ran.

Ji MIng declared that they seemed to have missed the moment.

She agreed.

Poor Ji Ming became a different man. Very depressive.

Ji Ming announced the dissolution of Joint Capital.  Poor Ji Ming lost everything, his car, his house and his job.
