Episode 1
Archeologists dug up a massive statue of a Buddha’s head which was blindfolded. It was mysterious from the get-go.
Anyway, Jung Ki Hoon was called by a professor to the university to meet up with a couple of monks.
The monks wanted Jung Ki Hoon to research the recently dug-up Buddha. They told him that the Buddha was buried because it was possessed by an evil spirit.
Strange things started happening to those who looks into the Buddha’s eyes.
It also started raining black rain.
Jung Ki Hoon is separated from his wife and this might have something to do with the death of their beloved daughter.
Episode 2
The Buddha was displayed at the national centre of Jinyang.
Lee Soo Jin was Jung Ki Hoon’s ex-wife. She saw the courier who was supposed to be in prison in the centre.
Meanwhile, Kwak Yong Joon had just gotten out of prison. He immediately gathered his posse and went to look for Han Do Kyung who they beat up.
Kwak Yong Joon held Han do Kyung responsible for him ending up in prison.
At the centre, it turned chaotic when everyone became violent.
For some reason, Soo Jin who was catatonic with fear just stayed standing in the middle of the road and yet remained untouched.
Episode 3
Jinyang was closed to everyone. No one can get in or get out which was a problem for Chief Han Seok Hee and Jung Ki Hoon.
Meanwhile, Kwak Yong Joon was brutally lording it inside the centre where people who had not been affected by the zombie-like condition yet managed to lock themselves in including, Soo Jin, Han Dok Kyung and the governor, Kwon Joong Soo.
The monks were having a strange happening at the temple. Their Buddha was crying blood.
Monk Il Jo was very concerned when he saw a photo of the Buddha now displayed at the centre when he saw that the blindfold had been removed from it.
Episode 4 – 6
This is quite a good story but at just over 30 minutes each episode, the story and the characters were not fully developed.
To create some scenes to be more dramatic, the pacing was slowed down. So instead of being dramatic, it looked stupid.
The particular scene was when Soo Jin witness her daughter run over by a truck. Instead of running towards her daughter, she collapsed a few feet away in the middle of the traffic crying for her daughter.
Anyway, the black rain was apparently not a bad thing. It was actually a portentous warning that an evil spirit is on the lurk.
The evil was in the statue and how it got there was because of a wicked monk who was beheaded for hit misdeeds.
Instead of dying immediately, the headless monk went around and around the Buddha statue. The cursed Buddha created untold death and damage until monks managed to contain it by blindfolding it and attaching some talisman scripts to stop it from further mayhem.
Ki Hoon and Soo Jin almost killed one another when they were both under the influence of the Buddha but in the end the thought of their daughter made them be mindful of each other.
They reconciled and worked together to investigate unsolved mysteries.
It is very watchable.
