Episode 1
Blurb: In ancient time, there were five great beasts namely of wind, thunder, water, fire and earth. There beast brought about chaos.
Nuwas who can’t bear the suffering of the living beings anymore used her power to create five spiritual beads that can control the beasts.
The beads then scattered to the mortal realm to bring peace.
However a beast leader, the Water Demon Beast was reborn and came out of the vast ocean. This beast started to disorder and confusion. No one could stand against the beast, well that is until a young hero suddenly appeared.
He was Xiaoyao. He unceasingly fought off the Water Demon Beast for seven days and seven nights underwater. At last he came out victorious.
It turned out Xiaoyao was only dreaming this scenario. Xiaoyao lives with his Aunt Li who manages a inn/restaurant.
Xiaoyao was a dreamer, a daydreamer. He wanted to be a hero.
Something intriguing happened to him. He heard from a group of merchant that there exist a Fairy Land where you can find medicine that is so potent it can bring the dead alive again. He wanted to know where the place was but he was told that it was only a hearsay.
Aunt Lin asked him to deliver takeout orders which he did reluctantly. As he went out of the inn, a man who was already half-drunk to him that he was the chosen one. Xiaoyao was chuffed and asked if the man could teach him kung fu as he looks like quite an expert in martial arts. The man said to meet up later that night.
As he was waylaid by wanting to chat to everybody, Xiaoyao jumped from building to buildings to avoid human traffic.
He met a boy who was being bullied for telling the other boys about the Fairy Island. The boy was adamant that Fairy Island exist and it had miracle medicine.
Xiaoyao was now really curious about the island and got more so when he heard that Aunt Li had collapsed. When he spoke to the physician, he was told that his aunt had been ailing for a few days, she had been poisoned and the doctor can’t do anymore for her.
Xiaoyao remembered the miracle medicine found in Fairy Island. So he went to the merchant staying at the inn to ask where the island was. The man said that he was not sure but he heard it was in the east, he then gave his hammer to Xiaoyao to borrow and a pill to take to avoid the miasma.
Xiaoyao sailed in a very dangerous sea but at last she spotted the island.
He landed and found that the mountain cave was being guarded by a statue of an ogre. He used the hammer to magically break the statue. He was then able to enter the cave which led to another world. A fairyland where there were fountains and flowers and animals. It was so lovely. But then he was suddenly zapped by lighting and saw that a fairy was targeting him.
He begged her to listen where he told her about Aunt Lin’s medical condition. Suddenly, she seemed to recognise him. She called him Xiaoyao who she met ten years ago.
He could not remember her but he pretended that he did as he does not want to lose the chance of getting the medicine for Aunt Lin.
She said she was Zhao Ling’er and asked him if he still remembered his promise ten years ago. He finally admitted that he was not the boy she met 10 years ago.
Ling’er took her to meet Grandma who recognised Xiaoyao and also mentioned his promise to marry the princess. Apparently Ling’er is a princess.
Xiaoyao was told that Grandma will conduct the wedding ceremony but Xiaoyao was shocked as he had only came for the medicine, not a marriage.
