Episode 1
The drama started with Cui Shan going to a bar owned by Yu Sheng, who was playing the piano.
After his piece, Yu Sheng introduced himself to Cui Shan and told him that he was a fan and enjoyed her show
Cui Shan was a ballet dancer. She said that she was only happy when dancing because the real world is bad.
Yu Sheng offered Cui Shan a sweet wine.
Cui Shan like the sweet wine but said that she was leaving today. She was walking by the motorway and when she got to the bridge, she jumped into the traffic below which seemed to have coincided with a body being thrown into the Hucheng River.
The body was found in the water later naked. It was the body of Yi Bing, who was an online personality.
Lu Xiao of Haigang Police was investigating with his newbie partner, Fang Yi Tong, who was very admiring of Lu Xiao as he was famous for his deductive thinking and policing in spite of still being young.
The body of Yi Bing was taken to forensics. An initial inspection found that the body had 27 wounds and 9 weapons were used. Also, there was evidence that animals caused some of the wounds.
Lu Xiao and Yi Tong went to Yi Bing studio to meet up with her assistant who was very cooperative.
She said that a few days ago, she came to work and got the fright of her life when she found a naked body inside the life-size office aquarium.
Even, Yi Bing who has a hangover from all-night drinking in a bar got scared as well but refused to call the police for the prank. Yes, it was a prank because the body in the tank was a fake one.
Anyway, Yi Bing and Xiao Xia loaded the fake body in a box and took it to the woods and buried it.
Yi Bing then said that this fake body will not frighten her. She then gave Yi Bing a few days’ holidays.
Lu Xiao and Yi Tong were led by Xiao Xia to the place where the fake body was buried.
It was taken to the forensics who found that the wounds on the fake body were exactly the same as that on Yi Bing.
Then an unknown man was shown later curving a doll. Behind him were polaroid photos of women.
Episode 2
Yi Tong was very impressed with Lu Xiao keen knowledge of the district. She can’t help but comment that he was a human SATNAV.
Anyway, they found their suspect who they think killed YiBing.
The man was Zhang Bai Ye who they just fished out from the river in his car.
Forensics said that he had been dead a day after Yi Bing.
When they looked into the CCTV, they found that someone had entered the boot of Zhang Bai Ye’s car as he was driving along.
Meanwhile, the dead-tired Lu Xiao went home to find his girlfriend waiting for him patiently and industriously. She had arranged all his work clothes by the day ready for him.
He confided to her that his latest case was too complicated.
He then took her right hand and pretended to put a ring on it. She told him that it was the wrong hand; it should be the left. He was holding to her left hand and made such a song and dance of trying to take something out from his trousers pocket while Jiang Yi Ran waited excitedly. He was just pranking her. He then fell asleep on her lap. She tucked him into the sofa and then let herself out of the apartment.
Whoa, Cui Shan is not dead. She was still dancing ballet but got the fright of her life when she got on the bus and saw a black hooded man who followed her all the way to her apartment.
I have to say that the editing of this drama is not very good. It is very confusing plus the fact that the story of Cui Shan seemed rather redundant.
The next day, Lu Xiao and his team found the signal from the killer who murdered Zhang Bai Ye. The signal led them to the market.
Lu Xiao saw Jiang Yi Ran shopping for their hotpot but told her off for wearing her police uniform outside of work.
Jiang Yi Ran said that she was in a hurry. She left him to his mission.
Lu Xiao and his strong team suddenly lost the signal when they got near the river.
Yitong said that it looks like they were dealing with a water ghost.
Episode 3
Another fake body was found by the riverside.
Jiang Yi Ran was actually a Medical Examiner who came to the site to see the fake body. She said that she recognised the face. It looked like Cheng Li Jun, her senior at school.
Meanwhile, it was Yi Ran and Lu Xiao’s tenth anniversary together. Lu Xiao made a lot of effort to make it as romantic as possible but all Yi Ran wanted was to pin him down for a wedding proposal. But still he looked adamant but Yi Ran being the lovely girl that she was, let it pass.
She told him that the next day, which was his day off, she was going to the mountains for her father’s death anniversary and she wanted Lu Xiao to go with her.
Lu Xiao told her that he was going to work as they are really busy with the serial killer case.
Again, Yi Ran understood. But it felt like she was going to be in danger. I hope not because she is so pretty and lovely.
Lu Xiao was at work. He heard his colleagues talking about delays in their salaries. Being the weekend they will not be paid until Monday.
Lu Xiao left the room and called a jeweler telling them that his installment for the ring will be delayed.
The shopkeeper said that it had been six and a half months but he will give him more time.
Ahh so Lu Xiao has a ring for Yi Ran already.
