Episode 1
Loving this drama. Peng Guan Ying is gorgeous as a gawky medical intern who is quite intelligent but at the moment was scrabbling in the ER because he is an undergraduate who transferred medical research to clinical practice.
With his lack of experience, he was actually rather surprised to have been hired at a foremost hospital considering that the other applicants are more qualified with more stellar medical backgrounds.
He started with another trainee, Liu Fei. It looks like they were both hired for their height and good looks.
Anyway, Liu Fei was handsome and serious. He was chosen by Zu Wen Da to mentor.
Meanwhile, Guan Ling, the hospital director made Lu Qing Qi mentor Wang Yang Ming.
Wang Yang Ming was happy to be working at the ER. He has a romantic view of what goes on but got a shock when he found that it was anything but calm.
Dr Lu worked Wang Yang Ming really hard on his first day. Dr Lu was rather impressed that despite struggling in some areas Wang Yang Ming worked diligently.
Episode 2
I love this hospital drama. This drama is a hidden gem.
Anyway, Liu Fei failed to save a patient despite giving her resuscitation for half an hour. He got upset because she was his first death.
His mentor told him that every doctor wanted to save his patient but at the same time life saving is as natural as death so every doctor has a graveyard in his heart.
Meanwhile, Wang Yang Ming was rather proud of himself when he saved a patient by giving him a tracheotomy.
Dr Lu however was not impressed because Wang Yang Ming is still a trainee and he performed the procedure in a ward rather than in the emergency room, where anything goes.
Wang Yang Ming had put the hospital in so much trouble if the patient’s family had deigned to complain. He was lucky because the family was just too grateful that he save the father.
It was a learning process for Wang Yang Ming as he had no hospital experience, in fact when he wrote the medical report, he was assuming too much. Dr Lu explained to him that he had to write down what was said and discuss rather than make a conclusion because the symptoms can be for other things.
I love the four masters of the Emergency Room.
Episode 3
Wang Yang Ming did it again. He dissolved a brain clot without first asking for permission from the guardian of the patient.
Dr Lu scolded him because the relatives of the patients were on the unruly side and it would have been havoc if something had gone wrong. However, Dr Lu also said that if Wang Yang Ming did not do anything for a dying patient, Dr Lu would have looked down on Wang Yang MIng.
Love this drama. I love the bromance of the four main doctors especially of that of Wang Yang Ming and his mentor Dr Du.
