Apparently, this drama has two segments, namely Blinding Elephant and The Last Straw that run parallel because of a connection with an unsolved crime from 9 years ago.
Episode 1
It started with a car accident on Nanjing Ring Road where there was a six-car pile up. Lu Nan was one of the cars in the pile up. He was helping the people to get out of the cars when another car collided with the pile up.
Anyway, after he had done his bit, Lu Nan went to Nanjing Court where he had been invited as a judge to assess death penalty cases.
One of the cases that looked at first was a case of a woman whose dismembered body was found in several locations. They have ascertained the murder weapon but mysteriously it had 5 DNA specimens lifted from it.
Lu Nan became acquainted with Ran Sen who was Tian Lan’s lawyer. The lawyer said that there is more to the case than meets the eyes. Everybody knows something but they are not telling.
The had lasted basically unsolved for nine years because there were so many suspects they can’t ascertain the culprit.
Whoa, what an intriguing ending to this episode. Lu Nan saw the police officer in the warehouse which is supposed to when the Mengqing was hiding.
