Episode 1

The Chao Empire had conquered the 5 nations and only Yebei is left for General Xie to colonise.

Yebei is made up of seven tribes that are pugnacious. The tribes lived in the lowland/grassland.

Ye Ling Shuang grew up treated like a pariah because she talked about what would happen before it happened which frightened the people so to contain her, her father,  Ye Jing Qing sealed her celestial power.

This however did not stop her from getting into trouble.  The latest of her supposed transgression was leaving the camp with Princess Rui without permission.

They did return safely but it was deemed suitable to separate her from Princess Rui so her father decided to send her to the Blackwater tribe after the Wolf Festival.

Ye agreed to leave but begged her father to unseal her celestial powers which her father locked since she was seven.

The 7 tribes of Yebei gathered together for the festival.  There was singing, dancing, and carousing when the wolf god (CGI could be better) appeared and was going directly for Princess Rui.

Ye saved her but at the same time, she put herself in danger as the wolf had now decided to attack her.  But then a godlike warrior appeared and helped her use the dagger to cut the wolf.

Instead of being lauded for saving the Princess, Ye was berated for killing the wolf god.  An old woman screeched that doom in coming.

The kind stranger noticed how she was being attacked constantly so Ye was given the token of Chao as protection from whoever bullies her.

When the stranger asked her why she was being bullied.

Ye replied that it was her fate.

The stranger said that fate is an excuse by the weak, no one is born cursed.

It was then announced that the Emperor of Chao chose Princess Rui to be his Empress to ally Yebei with Chao.

Ye went to see the gorgeous General Xie, who she found out was the kind stranger.  She told him that she would go in place of Princess Rui and marry the Emperor herself.

General Xie was annoyed that a nobody would deign to marry his emperor.

Ye said that she was from a noble birth as well.

When she thought that the General would not help her she appear to be resigned but asked him instead to drink the milk tea especially brewed for him by Queen Lan.

He drank the tea and pretended to feel faint.  Ye put a dagger against his throat but he was playing with her and grabbed her and put the dagger on her instead.

I love the first episode.  I’ve missed Willam Feng

Episode 2

Yi Wu You is one of the Winged people who visit Yebei often to look for the starstone.  He found out that both Princess Rui and Ye, who he likes will be travelling to Tianqi.

Jie Zhuying is in love with the crown princess of Yebei.  The Crown Princess and Jie Zhuying met when the Crown Princess was sent to study in the Capital. Knowing of their relationship, it was passed to Princess Rui to marry the Emperor.

Ye cut off her ties with her father.  She told him that she will enter the palace with Rui.  She owed Rui so much as she was the only light in her gloomy life.

Yi Wuyou begged her not to go but she was determined to go because Rui is the most important person in her life and she was to protect her at all costs.

Ye travelled with Rui. Wuyou turned up to rescue Ye but she begged him to take Rui instead

Later on, Ye realised that General Xie was actually the Emperor.

Episode 3

The Yebei clan heard of the abduction of Princess Rui so they decided to attack the Chao army.

The Yebei king attacked General Xie who was too powerful and killed the king.

Ye Jing Qing cast the Hengchen skyfire spell which incinerated everyone but General Xie just walked away from the fireball unscathed.  Ye Jing Qing could not believe how powerful General Xie was.

The women from Yebei were sent to the Imperial of Music  & Dance Academy (brothel) but Ye asked a rather reasonable General Xie Yu’an to send her to the Bureau of Astrology.

Supervisor Jie Hai Tian allowed her to stay at the bureau after she promised him that she could locate the Divine Mirror for him.

Leng Tianxi who was a winged woman became Concubine Tian after she promised to serve the Emperor and had her celestial power sealed off.

Promising herself that she would be completely loyal to the Emperor, she was disappointed when he did not show up that night to consummate their union.l

Meanwhile, Ye started working at the Bureau of Astronomy.  That night, she noticed her amulet glowing and when she looked at it, it started speaking saying that he was Astrologer Yun Wen who is trapped in her amulet.

Episode 4

Crown Princess in charge of Yebei.  They are protected by General Jie Chu Ying.

Divining the best place for the Ceremony of stars within 10 days.  She had been given the name of Bai Lu.

I have heard that Shao Feng is too old for Xiaoran but what I see is very strong chemistry.  Shao Feng is as sexy as ever.

Superintendent Jie vs Chancellor Fan.

Wuyou once told her that if he happens to be in Tianqi, she could find him at Moon Tower.

I am really loving this drama.  There is a freshness to it.

Anyway, Ye Jing Qing, Ye Lingshuang’s father is bedridden but being looked after by Wuyou.  Ye Jing Qing asked Wuyou for a favour; to look after Ye when he has gone.  He said that Ye is in Tianqi.

Wuyou said that he thought Ye is dead and how would Ye Jing Qing know that she was still alive.

Ye Jing Qing said he knows because Ye is favoured by the Truth Master.  He said that he knows Wuyou was looking for the starstone; only by staying near Ye would Wuyou finds the stone.

Wuyou assured Ye Jing Qing that even without the starstone, he will protect Ye.

Ye Jing Qing said that he knew that Wuyou was devoted and truly loves Ye, unfortunately, Ye can only stand next to the Emperor.  Ye Jing Qing then died.  Whoa.  So Ye and the Emperor are really fated.

Episode 5

Part of Ye’s task at the Bureau was to divine the best time for the Emperor to sleep with his many concubines.

When she went to present the ovulation calendar to the concubines, they were very underwhelmed.  They told her that it has no use as the Emperor never visited any of them. The closest to him was  Concubine Tian and yet she was not getting any bedroom joy from him either.

Ye researched thoroughly for the best venue to hold the Ceremony of Stars but then she learned from Concubine Tian that the Emperor really does not believe in hocus pocus.

Despite, Superintendent Jiu discouraging her to present her findings she still insisted on revealing her idea.

The Emperor liked it because it actually echo what he already had in mind.

The Emperor found out that his order for Yebei’s relocation was corrupted by Superintendent Jiu.

The Superintendent order the mass killing of everyone but his General Jiu who is in love with Yebei’s Crown Princess kept them alive which meant he went against the corrupted order of the Emperor.

Someone had to pay for going against the order of the Emperor.  It is either Superintendent Jiu who corrupted the order or his son, who would go against the order, even if is it corrupted.

Superintendent Jiu begged the Emperor to spare his son and let him pay for the transgression instead.

Episode 6

General Jiu witnessed the Crown Princess using her cultivation to search the huge lake for the magic mirror.  But their jubilation was interrupted by riders who handed General Jiu a missive from the Emperor.

It was an announcement of Superintendent Jiu execution due to treason which obviously upset General Jiu, who was summoned back to the Capital.

General Jiu had to seek permission to bury his parents but the Emperor refused to see him.  The General knelt down for many days and nights.

Bai Lu went to see General Jiu and asked him where the Crown Princess was.

The General told her where to find them.

The Emperor heard that Bailu was the only one who went to check on General Jiu.

Bailu was summoned by the Emperor.

Xiaoran is so cute, I must admit.  Oh, her chemistry with Shao Feng cannot be ignored.

Anyway, the Emperor wanted to know what the General told her but she did not say much so the Emperor said that as she was lying he might execute her as well.

Bailu said that if the Emperor wanted to execute someone she has the best candidate.  She then gave him a report about the construction of the Ceremony of Stars altar.  Instead of the obsidian, the altar was supposed to be made up of, they used a four times cheaper inkstone but still asked the treasury for money equal to the price of obsidian

The man in charge is the son of Fan Ru Hai, who had just been made to replace Superintendent Jiu to manage military matters.

Love this drama.

Episode 7

Guan Yi, an official from The Bureau of Astrology was arrested after he became the scapegoat for the stolen money from the altar construction.  He was then killed in prison which made it appear that he hanged himself.

Meanwhile, Bai Lu went to see the Yebei clan after General Jiu told her where they were hiding.  Still the same treatment, the Yebei soldiers hated her but the Crown Princess trusted her.  The Crown Princess said that she plans to sneak in and kill the Emperor during the Ceremony of Stars.

Bailu was taken aback but then the Crown Princess told her that during the Yebei battle, Ye’s father cast the Skyfire Spell which incinerated everyone but the Emperor just walked free from it.

Bailu was shocked and said that she heard that the Emperor has a super armour that makes him invincible.  Bailu said she would help and try to find a way for the Emperor not to wear his armour on the day of the ceremony.

They reckoned that the Emperor is protected by the Truth Masters that can bend time and space.

Bailu started searching for places where she could find the secret of the Emperor.  She sneaked into a forbidden building only to find the Emperor inside.

The Emperor was intrigued by her.

Episode 8

Ye warned the Crown Princess that her contact at the palace cannot be trusted but she was ignored.

The Crown Princess said that do or die, she will try to assassinate the Emperor.

Ye met Wu You again at the Moon Tower restaurant.  She was so happy to see him but he told her that he lost Rui.  Rui was there with him but was gone the next morning.  He searched for her everywhere despite being wounded.  But who he found was Ye Jing Qing who was fatally wounded.  He did try to look after him but he was far too gone.

Wu You warned Ye about joining the assassination plot.  He reminded her that not a single day at Yebei that she was treated well by the people so she does not owe them anything.

Ye, though, was beyond listening.

Even the Emperor who found out about the Yebei refugees who he got intel of trying to assassinate him during the Ceremony of the Stars asked BaiLu who she will choose.  Him or the Yebei’s Crown Princess.

Ye procrastinated with her decision.  She answered that she had never thought of it.

The Emperor said that he hoped she could return to play chess with him again.

Episode 9

The Ceremony of Stars became a bloody affair.

Qi Hai Lian, the Crown Princess of Yebei was able to sneak into the palace with her men by dressing like one of the soldiers.

She then used her cultivation to encase the Emperor inside a big water bubble.  She then went inside and attack the Emperor.

But the Emperor was able to take care of himself.  He did notice that his cuts takes more time to heal and disappear.  He reckon that he needs the Divine Mirror.

I must said the action and CGI is not really good but still watchable.

Bailu watching from outside knew that the Emperor prepared for every eventuality. She can’t help herself but lend a hand to the Yebei people.  In front of the Emperor, she showed which side she was on as she threw a magic crystal at Qi Hai Lian.  The crystal opened up a vortex in which  Qi Hai Lian and her remaining men escaped into.

The Emperor was gutted at Bailu treachery as he had always treated well and even indulged her but she was unrepentant.

Meanwhile, the soldiers looked for Qi Hai Lian and her men.  General Jiu found her.  He stabbed himself and told her to go but later on when he was in front of the Emperor who saw right through him, he admitted that he could not kill Hai Lian because she is the love of his life.  The Emperor was in tears because he had always treated General Jiu like his own son and yet he protected a woman who was trying to kill the Emperor.

General Jiu felt guilty and ashamed and begged the Emperor not to kill Qi Hsi Lian who had been captured.

The Emperor said he will not kill her but General Jiu had to seal the celestial power of the Lian.

General Jiu had to agree and brought Lian to the hooded men who sealed the celestial power of the Crown Princess.

The Crown Princess was aggrieved and later told Bailu back in prison that she felt lame.

Bailu told her that she shouldn’t because she had her celestial power sealed when she was just seven by two mysterious white robe men.

A soldier of the Emperor overheard it and reported what he heard.  He said that it looks like Bailu met the Truth Master.

Anyway, the Emperor was asked how the prisoners are going to be punished. They said that for Bailu’s treachery, she should be beheaded.

Episode 10

The Emperor is very benevolent.  He freed the Crown Princess with her men on the proviso that she and her seven Yebei clans will migrate to Yuezhou.

The Emperor had assigned General Jiu as the Governor of Yuezhou and see to it the resettlement of the Yebei clans.

He further added that General Jiu will no longer be known as Jiu but instead he could restart his life as Chu Ying.

Chu Ying was heartbroken because he does not want to leave the Emperor.

The Emperor told him to live his life.

Meanwhile, Bai Lu was about to be beheaded when at the last minute, a rider from the palace announced that she was pardoned and the Emperor wanted to see her.

The Emperor was intrigued by Bailu being another chosen one by the Truth Master.  He tasked her to find them within three months.

Episode 11

Bailu did a disappearing act that worried the Emperor, especially with Grand Steward Fan asking him to punish Bailu for her role in the failed assassination.

The Emperor told the Grand Steward was actually the one who warned him that there will be an assassination during the ceremony of stars which is why he was prepared for it.  He then told the Grand Steward that Bailu had been useful.

The Emperor was covering for Bailu, of course.  Bailu then turned up and told the Emperor that she did not disappear but actually carrying a task for him.  Finally, he understood what task she was talking about.  He told the Grand Steward to go while asking Bailu to remain.

Bailu is as cheeky as ever.  She was told by the Emperor that she cannot ask for an extension. She only has three months.

Bailu agreed.

The Emperor admires her chutzpah.

Meanwhile, Chu Ying travelled with the Princess and her soldiers back to Yebei.  When she got there, she started saying that she had good news but was interrupted by a palace soldier who presented and edict to her and Chu Ying.

The Emperor said that Qi Hai Lian had shown bravery as well as a willingness to be at one with Chao so she is elevated to Princess Qihaling (or something). He said ordered she was to marry Chuying.  Between them, they will move the Yebei people to Yuezhou with immediate effect.

The Yebei people were up in arms.  They think that Princess Lian had sold out.  They said they can’t leave Yebei because their history is there.  A woman said that the graves of her children, husband and other family were in Yebei.

Princess Qihaling told Chuying that she was not marrying him.

Back at Chao, it was Concubine Tian’s birthday which is celebrated at the harem.  Bailu was also there.

The Emperor passed by and was quite gratified at first that it was happy and peaceful at his harem.  But it changed in a heartbeat when Concubine Tian had a turn.

She was shaking and almost howling at the full moon.  She going berserk.

The Emperor ordered his special task force to take Concubine Tian down.

Bailu and the Concubine Tian tried to pacify her but she was getting worst.  The special task force was just outside her villa ready to shoot but Bailu too the silver hairpin of Concubine Tian and used it to pierce her finger and palm.  This visibly calmed her down.

Episode 12

The Emperor had ordered his task force to protect Bailu so she was followed wherever she goes.

She went to the Moon Tower Restaurant and secretly saw WuYou.

Wuyou asked her about Concubine Tian.

She told him that she was getting better but became very unwell.  WuYou was very surprised that Concubine Tian got better.

He told her that Concubine Tian was gifted to the Emperor.  But as she is from a winged clan, it was in her genes to be faithful and loyal to the clan.  She would not be able to help herself when there is a blood moon.

Back in the palace, Bailu went back to looking for the Truth Master.

She saw a light coming from the middle of the pond at the South Palace so she dived in.  She saw a monolith underneath with sketching but she had to swim up for air.

The Emperor turned up in time to see her all soaked and shivering.  He was so alarmed, he gave her his wrap coat.

He told her that she was so stupid to look for a mythical Truth Master.

Episode 13

It was the Emperor’s Natal Day but Bailu noticed that the palace was not celebrating.  She asked the Emperor why he was not having a party.

He told her that his real birthday is a secret as advised to him so no one can use it to hex him.

Bailu, however, was not letting his ‘birthday’ be uncelebrated so she took him on a date to the lantern festival.

He was incognito and they were just like a pair of lovers holding hands while watching what was going on in the town centre.  At one point, they looked at each other a bit too long and both realised that they are attracted to one another.

Bai Lu was so shocked, she ran off, followed by the Emperor.  Just others after a date, he took her home and they were awkward saying goodnight to each other.  Both excitedly crushing at each other.

When they saw each other again, the Emperor told more about himself to Bailu.  He explained why he was partial to the Fan.  He said that they were his last living relatives. Old Madam Fan was the one who brought him up.

But he realised that he had to curtail Grand Steward Fan’s ambition especially when the Grand Steward asked that Zuo Jintian, the head of the military becomes the Governor General of Yuezhou.

The Emperor did not really say no so Grand Steward already alerted Zuo Jintian of the promotion.  But ruminating about it with Bailu, he agreed that Grand Steward and Zuojian will have too much power so the Emperor gave the position to Chu Ying.

Zuo Jintian was so miffed he ordered to kill Chuying army.  And also Bailu as without it the Emperor would have not changed his mind.

Many are giving this drama a bad review.  I know it has a lot of faults but I am actually loving this drama.

Episode 14

Qi Hai Lian with her core guards went to look for the Boro/Toro?, a mysterious clan who could help them reach Yuezhou safely.

It was a trek which became perilous for everyone when the earth open ready to swallow anyone who falls into the crevice.

Qi Hai Lian shouted into the crevice that she will pay 70% of their salt to the Boro if they guide them to Yuezhou

When they returned to their camp, no one was there but dead bodies.

A guard of Chuying came riding in telling the group that Zuo Jintian attacked and took some of the Yebeis as prisoners.

Qi Hai Lian offered herself to Zuo Jintian to kill in return of her clan.

Chuying said that Zuo Jintian was really after him so he offered himself instead

They were both taken as prisoners.

At the palace, Bai Lu was arrested because it had come to Concubine Tian’s attention that she had been meeting a winged clan.

As Bailu would not say what her relationship with the winged clan was, the Emperor ordered her to be thrown into prison.

The stress gave the Emperor one of his migraine which worried Concubine Tian.  She ordered to let Bailu out of prison because perhaps she could cure the Emperor of his malady the way she cured Concubine Tian of hers.

Episode 15

Bailu cured the Emperor and was told by Concubine Tian that she does not have to return to the prison cell.

Concubine Tian told the Emperor that she knew he had Bailu locked up because he got jealous when Bailu met up with someone from the winged clan.  She added that Grand Steward Fan had something to do with setting up Bailu.

The Emperor summoned Grand Steward Fan for almost abetting Zuo Jintian.  He learned that Qi Hai Lian and Chuying had been thrown into a well and the supply for the Yebei people had been cut off by the order of Zuo Jintian.

Grand Steward Fan went home and completely broke any kind of relationship with Zuo Jintian by ordering his kind daughter-in-law, Zuo Jintian’s daughter, to commit suicide by hanging.

Fan Ping her husband was very upset.  He told his father that he might not love his wife but she was kind and gentle to his family.  Grand Steward Fan was monstrous.

Meanwhile, Wuyou sent a letter to Bailu telling her that 4 May is the best time to unseal her celestial power.

Bailu went to the Emperor and told him that she must be in seclusion for three days to divine when the best time for him to travel and see and meet his people was.  She said to him that she must not be disturbed at all costs.

The Emperor who likes her humoured her.

So for three days, Bailu performed the unsealing of her celestial power. She ended up collapsing by the force;

Episode 16

The Emperor gatecrashed Bailu’s isolation because he just had to see her.  Good thing too because he found her unconscious/sleeping on the floor.  To wake her up, he sprinkled water on her face.

This actually quite a good thing because Bailu would have stayed in the other realm to be with Princess Rui.

Anyway, the Emperor asked Bailu if she wanted to go travel to his kingdom with him

Bailu categorically said no.

Bailu learned later that the Emperor might go to Youzhou and will see Chuying and Lian.  Now she wanted to go but she can’t have a moment with the Emperor to ask him if she can go with him after all.

She tried everything to see the Emperor but he had become elusive.  But when he allowed her to see him, she immediately told him that she really wanted to go with him.

Episode 17

Grand Steward Fan connived with Ci Can from behind the Emperor’s back.

Chuyung asked Qing Heng to marry him so they could get dowry and money from the Emperor to use to buy food for the people.

He was excited when she agreed because she loves him as she kisses him.

Wuyou still believes that Ye/Bailu will carry out her revenge against the Emperor.

Yun Wen had acquired a human form.  Bailu wanted him to help her create the time-traveling passage.  Bailu wished to go back to Ruogan Peak where Rui was.

She managed this feat and saw the time when Wu You was shot with an arrow while holding Rui.

Rui confessed to Wuyou that she had always liked him but now he had to let her go as she wanted to stay at Yebei.  She remove his grasp from her hand and she fell to her death.

Ye was heartbroken at what she saw.

Episode 20

She was so heartbroken, the Emperor found her crying at the fortune fountain🤣.

The Emperor told Bailu that he will protect her and that the best way he can do so was to make her his Empress.  Marry him.

Bailu declined his offer.  She told him that he has a full harem as it is but the Emperor said that he never goes to them.

Bailu instead asked the Emperor to let her go, let her leave.  She added that she only loves one person and she is gone.

Bailu fell ill.  The Emperor summoned all the best physicians in and around the palace but not one can cure the comatose Bailu.

The Emperor kept a vigil near Bailu.

One of the astrologers who was quite close to Bailu remembered Yu Wen and he asked him to come and cure Bailu.

The Emperor allowed him to see Bailu as he was getting desperate.  Yu Wen checked Bailu’s qi and said that she is cursed and she has only 24 hours to live if the quack curser is not found and apprehended.

The Emperor sent his soldiers to go house to house but they can’t find the curser🤣

But the situation was getting grimmer so the Emperor decided to join the search.  He found the place. He was immediately surrounded by dozens of fighters but he was almost immortal so in no time he was able to subdue them.  He then threw his lance straight to the chanting curser.

The Emperor rushed back to the palace to check on Bailu who had miraculously gotten better.  She saw the blood on his shoulder which flowed to his bloody hands.

The Emperor sexily smirked that he fought for her so he had to show her that he was not left unscathed.  Bailu was in between being concerned and annoyed at the Emperor.

He was too quick.  He had Bailu in his arms and kissed her and she kissed him back. ❤️  Between excitement and shock, Bailu fainted.

Bailu thought though that she needed to see and save Rui before she could fully give in to loving the Emperor.

Episode 21 – 22

I must say, Bailu is becoming tiresome.  Her friendship with Rui was an obsession.  I think she has a lesbian love for Rui because she said she loves Rui more than anyone, and the way she was behaving and sacrificing herself and certainly her love for the Emperor.

Anyway, Wuyou helped Bailu to procure the ice crystals to allow her to time travel.

With the help of Yu Wen, she was on her way to Yebei right at the time when General Xie saved her from the wolf.

She saw Rui and hugged and kissed her and would never let her go.  Rui complained that Ye was hugging her too tightly and behaving even stranger than usual.

Anyway, she was determined to save Rui.

Ye/Bailu made herself look womanly and more beautiful to attract General Xie so that he will choose to marry her from the onset rather than having Rui travel to Tangqi to marry him, the Emperor.

General Xie was certainly attracted and agreed to everything Ye requested including promising to make sure that the Emperor marries her.

They got drunk and when they woke up in the morning they were in bed together.

General Xie told Bailu not to get up yet.

Ye was shocked and quickly realised that the Emperor time travelled with her.  Anyway, she made him promise that he will make peace with the Yebei which he did.

Bailu was sad to leave Rui and made plans for Rui to visit her in Tangqi where Wuyou was also based.  Bailu was also relieved to leave Yebei at the same time.

Before they could return to Tangqi, a clan decided to attack Qi Hai Zhen Yu.  It was a complete massacre.

The body of Rui was later brought to the camp where Bailu had a breakdown.  Nothing had changed.  Rui still died.

They came back to their timeline where Bailu would not have anything to do with the Emperor.

She was so weak because as Yu Wen said, time travel affects her physiology and mentality.  Repeated time traveling would make one confuse what is real from what was illusionary.

But Bailu was obsessed.  She wanted to travel again to save Rui.

The Emperor found out what she intended to do so he bought all the ice crystals in the market and black markets.  The Emperor was also greatly affected by the time travel so not wanting Bailu to suffer more he asked Yu Wen to create a time-travel loop again where the Emperor destroyed the loop mechanism.

Bailu was incensed but will not give up.

Realising this, Yu Wen decided to leave so Bailu can’t time travel anymore.  He was saving her from herself.

Episode 23 

Mr Gu, another of Bai Lu’s trusted colleagues told her that the Emperor did not actually destroy the time travel corridor. He actually went back to rescue Rui but was unsuccessful.

As previously told by Yu Wen time traveling has a very ruinous effect on the mind and body.  And sure enough, when Bailu went to see the Emperor who was eating dumplings to celebrate his real birthday, he suddenly fell ill and went berserk.  He pushed Bailu away and started attacking his trusty bodyguard.

Bailu bravely faced him and told him she is Bailu.  Finally, the Emperor was able to calm down but he collapsed and comatose for a few days until Bailu gave him a pill soaked in her blood.

The pill was so good 🤣🤣🤣 because almost instantly the Emperor woke up and knew immediately what Bailu did as he looked at the still raw scar on her finger. He warned her not to do it again as he suddenly grabbed Bailu to him on his bed.

Bailu was not complaining.  She told him that she wanted to be his concubine.

The Emperor said that she is not his woman or chattel. She is his Empress. Aww, They are so cute.

Meanwhile, Wuyou heard the wedding plans of Bailu and the Emperor.  This sets his hackle immediately.  He said that he will make himself the new Emperor for Bailu.

He went trekking to find Allouka in the forest to make her fix his magic lance.  The former Allouka was dead replaced by a girl who said that she needs a stone for the tip of the lance.  The stone should be near someone who had been blessed by the Truth Masters.  It so happened that he had the stone that Bailu had given him for safekeeping.

In no time, Wuyou had the most powerful lance.

Episode 24

This is a very sad episode because Concubine Tian and brave Feng Yin died protecting the Emperor.

Episode 25

It looks like most of the drama budget went into this last episode.  It was really exciting though it feels like the finale was too randomly ended.

Anyway, it was a bloody wedding.  The gates were opened for those who wanted to witness the wedding so WuYou with his winged clan managed to get in pretty easily.  Immediately, they started slaying those who get in their way.

Bailu was beautiful in her wedding dress.  She was on her way to the wedding venue when her palanquin stopped because the gates were firmly shut.

Bailu was then advised that assassins got in and the Emperor ordered for her to leave and be safe.

Bailu declined and behaved like the Empress that she would be.  She ordered the gates to be opened.  She then saw the piles of bodies on the ground and it kept piling up as the fight was not over.

General Xie escorted her until she got to the palace and saw the Emperor fighting for his life against Wu You.  The Emperor was badly wounded but he managed to fatally stab WuYou who died in Bailu’s arms.

She then rushed to the Emperor and begged him to allow a proper burial for WuYou.

The Emperor agreed and said that Wuyou will be posthumously made the Emperor of the Winged Clan and will be given a grand funeral.

Meanwhile, Grand Steward Fan was arrested for being the mastermind of the insurrection.  His second son fell off a cliff while being chased. The fan riches were confiscated. Grand Steward Fan later committed suicide in prison.  His first son was found to be innocent of everything but demoted to being just a commoner.

Bailu became the right hand man of the Emperor.  Between them, then managed to construct the canal within a year.

The Emperor became ill, though he did recover after some good medicine.  But after sixteen years, he abdicated to make way for his son, who was a just and able ruler.

Everyone is at peace at last.

I have to say, I really enjoyed this drama.  It has enough story that would keep you following right through the end.
