Episode 7

Wei Ming’s parents came to stay and demanded for Li Shuang to take them to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Gu Xu spotted her in the hospital and scolded her for not being filial.  He told her that her father had broken his foot.

Episode 8

Li Shuang hurried to her father.  She then got a call from Wei Ming rebuking her for just leaving and ignoring his parents in the hospital.

Li Shuang told him that her father was in the hospital and really hurt himself.  She did not give Wei MIng a chance to speak before she hung up.

Wei MIng turned up and was not happy to see Gu Xu behaving like the son-in-law of the family.

Anyway, when it was time to take Li Shuang’s father back home, Wei MIng who promised to do the honour of driving her father back called at the last minute that he had a meeting and can’t come.

But then Gu Xu turned up to drive them home.

Gu Xu had mentioned to Li Shuang that he was disappointed in her.  He really thought that he was going to compete with her in their field and even looking forward to it.  Now she was just a housewife.

Actually poor Li Shuang was too old according to the standard of a workplace.  Most company do not recruit older worker, especially those with gap in their working history.

Anyway, ARK is holding a team bonding.  To make sure that Jiang Xi does not turn up in the escursion, Wei Ming said that single people are exempted because the team bonding is about family.

Li Shuang goaded Jiang Xi to turn up to test Wei MIng’s true feelings for her.

She did and she found out that Wei Ming was not really into her.  He ended up breaking with her.

Episode 9

Wei Ming found out that Jiang Xi has something on him from his computer so he reconciled with her and dumped Li Shuang who she was supposed to be meeting to give the SD card to.

Li Shuang was not having luck.  She had an interview and the new CEO of the company was Gu Xu.  He was the one who told her that she was not what they were looking for in the company.

Episode 10

Poor Li Shuang was so depressed, she started drinking secretly in the laundry room at night.

Episode 11

Wei Ming not only brike up with Jiang Xi again, he also framed her to get fired at work.  She was so depressed her brother, Jiang Hai got worried.

Episode 12

Jiang Hai called Li Shuang to report about his sister who had gone missing.  They found her in a bar.

Jiang Xi said that she was ready to do as Li Shuang wanted her to do.

Li Shuang said that they had lost the moment but she was sure Wei MIng was going to get his karma.  He was going down and they had just have to wait.

After talking to Li Shuang, Jiang Xi went back to work as if nothing happened.  Her work colleagues was giving her the cold shoulder but she braved it out.  She said that they have not really given her an official warning.

Meanwhile, Jiang Hai was crushing on Li Shuang in a big way.  He was liking her even more because she was friendly and super intelligent.  She listened and gave him advise on a business app he wanted to start.

In the meantime, Jiang Hai started to look for a job as he was still tweaking his business project.  However, during the interview day, he overheard the applicants talking about their qualifications.  He lost confidence and started to have panic attack so he left before he could be interviewed.

Li Shuang and Jiang Xi began to rely on one another.

Wei Ming parents confronted Li Shuang with a hotel bill they found in the laundry room.  They asked who she had been meeting.  Li Shuang could not help smirked especially when Wei Ming just came home and had to explain about the hotel receipt.

To pacify Li Shuang, he gave her another 500,000 to invest in her name.

Wei Ming’s mother told him that what he was doing was wrong and that it would break his family.

Wei Ming assured her that it meant nothing and that it was over.

Episode 13

Li Shuang told her parents that she wanted a divorce.  They said they support her.  Divorce is not such a bad thing.

There is a new girl at ARK.  She was from a rich family.  She was unbearable to her new colleagues.

Jiang Xi told her brother that she was jobless.

Jiang Hai found a job because of his good looks.  But he was really crushing on Li Shuang which Jiang Xi tried to dissuade because Jiang Hai was not good enough for Li Shuang.

Anyway, Jiang Hai did not give up and even offered to baby sit for Gougou when Li Shuang is busy or tied up at school.

Well, Li Shuang was indeed busy because she had become an uber driver. 🤣🤣🤣

Li Shuang and Jiang Xi are growing closer as friends.

Jiang Xi told Li Shuang that she was leaving ARK in a couple of days as she was being pushed out by Wei Ming.

Episode 14

Li Shuang asked her father to contact GuXu.

Anyway, on the day that Jiang Xi was leaving ARK, Gu Xu turned up at ARK.  Gu Xu had been hard to contact and ARK had been desperate to speak with him for a work cooperation.

Guxu then saw Jiang Xi and pretended that they know each other and it was her that made him be in touch with ARK.

So from being sacked, suddenly Jiang Xi was the woman of the hour. She was transferred back to the mainstream Production Department under Wei Ming.

Episode 15

Joyce found Wei Ming charismatic and attentive.  He was the only one who remembered her birthday.  She started crushing on him.

Episode 16

Joyce was so forceful. She replaced Mingbo as Wei Ming’s assistant on a business trip.

Li Shuang was told by someone at Rock Technology that they were hiring again. She was encouraged to apply.

At last she got a job after an intensive interview with Gu Xu.

It was hectic for her at first but Jiang Xi was giving her advice and moral support.  Meanwhile, Jiang Hai helps her with childcare after she made him realised that they were just friends and nothing could ever happened between them.  Jiang Hai agreed and said just seeing her everyday was enough for him.

They discussed what was happening with Wei Ming.  Li Shuang immediately deduced that Wei Ming was subtly seducing Joyce.  He wanted the money and prestige she brings.

Episode 17

Wei Ming blew his top when he found out that Li Shuang accepted a job offer without telling him first and against his better judgment.

Li Shuang ignored him and had finally signed a contract with her divorce lawyer.  Li Shuang agreed with the lawyer that they had to take a slow approach.

Joyce’s father visited ARK and overheard that Joyce is chasing a married man.

Her father called her so she was forced to cut her business trip with Wei Ming.

But when she spoke to her father, she categorically said that she will get Wei Ming.  She was determined to have him.

Episode 18

Jiang Xi being escorted by Gu Xu created such a buzz at the party that even Wei Ming called her in his office the next day and told her to work with Gu Xu.  He then said that he was about to be made the Vice President and he sure would promote her.  He also said that they can resume their former relationship.

Jiang Xi did not say much.

Li Shuang is collating her conjugal assets with Wei Ming in preparation for the divorce.

Jiang Xi’s mother came to the city and created quite a havoc at ARC wanting to see her son-in-law, Mr Gu.

Jiang Xi had to take her away quickly.

Meanwhile, Mingbo tried to earn points with Jiang Xi’s mother but he quickly found out that the mother is a money grabbing bitch who told him that he was not good enough for her daughter.

Episode 19

Joyce confessed to Wei Ming.  Wei Ming said he likes her too but as a boss to a subordinate.  Joyce said does not believe him.  She said that he was just in denial.

He was playing hard to get to get her more interested. It worked because she went all mental to her parents and defied them when they told her to leave for abroad the next day so she could study another masters degree.

She left the house in the rain all upset.  She was soaking wet when Wei Ming found her.  He finally confessed to her that he loves her as well and will treat her so well and will take responsibility for her.

They have now semi-cohabiting in a hotel.

Jiang Xi noticed that Wei Ming and Joyce were steeping together.  She told Li Shuang that she recognised the hair tie that Joyce gave to a colleague.  It was a hair tie she left in the hotel room when she was still with Wei Ming.

Meanwhile, poor Gougou noticed that her father hardly comes home anymore.

Episode 20

Bastard Wei Ming cut off Li Shuang’s bank card, telling her that he had so much expenses, he doesn’t have any money at present.  He then reminded her that she was now a working woman.

Gu Xu got very curious and rather appalled that Li Shuang seemed to be strapped for money so he asked Jiang Xi what was going on.

After making sure that Gu Xu can be trusted and be taken into confidence, Jiang Xi told him everything including who she was to Wei Ming and how she first met Li Shuang.

Gu Xu was so shocked of the bizarre closed friendship that had developed between Jiang Xi and Li Shuang.  But then he realised that Li Shuang had that magnetism that can’t be ignored.

So, he went to look for Li Shuang who he told to not take everything on her plate.  She had to look after herself as well.

Episode 21

Wei Ming bought Joyce a new apartment where they were more or less living together.  He had to pacify Joyce because they had become a topic of gossip at work.

Li Shuang asked him to at least turn up for Gougou’s birthday but Wei Ming said he was busy at work as he had just been promoted.

On Gougou’s birthday, Gougou was with her maternal grandpa at the play area in the shopping centre.  It so happened that Wei Ming was shopping for wedding/engagement ring for Joyce.

Gougou saw them and started shouting and running for Wei Ming who continued walking away.  Poor Gougou had and accident and ended up in the hospital.

Wei Ming turned up later at the hospital and put the blame on Li Shuang for being an unfit mother.  She should have been home with Gougou and not gallivanting.

Li Shuang was so annoyed.

Anyway. Wei Ming finally asked for a divorce.

Episode 22

Mingbo and Jiang Xi was getting on well.  Jiang Xi introduced him to Li Shuang and Gougou.

Meanwhile, Jiang Hai was doing well at work.  He was earning a lot of commission that even he was rather surprised.

Anyway, Li Shuang, with her lawyer, met up with Wei Ming and his lawyer.  Wei Ming offered Li Shuang a million as alimony but he will get custody of Gougou.

Li Shuang’s lawyer gave copies of financial records of Wei Ming and she said Li Shuang sould get 9Million and custody of Gougou.

Wei Ming put up their marital apartment for sale without consulting Li Shuang.  She was so annoyed but she can’t really do anything because as Wei Ming said she was too civilised and would not resort to anything underhanded.

Episode 23

Jiang Xi told Li Shuang that Jiang Hai could look for an apartment for her. They were packing when they got a call from Jiang Hai that the apartment that Li Shuang wanted  became unavailable.

It got so hectic but Gu Xu took over and took LI Shuang and Gougou to an old house he owned. Li Shuang and Gougou loved it.

Poor Jiang Xi!  She found out the true nature of Mingbo when she needed him most.

Jiang Hai’s boss has absconded with their renters money.  Jiang Hai was implicated and could end up in prison if he does not return the 400,000 he got in commission.  Unfortunately, he now only had 100,000 as he gave the bulk of it to his mother.

Jiang Xi once again resignedly took responsibility for her brother and she does not want him to go prison.

At first Mingbo agreed to cash in his investment of 200K but at the last moment, he changed his mind. I have to be honest, I would change my mind too as Jiang Xi’s family is a money pit.

Meanwhile, Joyce was forced to go back home when she heard that her father was unwell. When she got there, he was well but they locked her up in her room.

Wei Ming and his parents were not happy with this and became more determined to get Li Shuang to agree to an immediate divorce.

The parents went to Li Shuang’s new house. They criticised everything about the house.  Then Gu Xu turned up and accused Li Shuang that she was committing adultery with GuXu.

Li Shuang had had enough so she threw her in-laws out.

Episode 24

Finally, Joyce was able to escape from her parents’ mansion in the skimpiest skirt and high heels.🤣🤣🤣. If you are trying not to get noticed shouldn’t you be wearing plain clothes and trainers?  Not Joyce. LOL

Poor Jiang Xi was so desperate to get money to pay for her brother’s fine that she was ready to prostitute herself.

Jiang Hai could not bear it and said he would rather go to prison.  Jiang Xi was not thinking clearly.  She was so determined to go ahead with her plan but on her way to the club to meet a potential sugar daddy, Li Shuang grabbed her and told her that Jiang Xi can’t do what she was planning.

Li Shuang promised to think a way how to solve their money problem.

What Jiang Xi did was to go to her mother and appeal to her love for her favourite son.  Jiang Xi told her mother that she must return the money 150K Jiang Hai gave her and the 50K that Jiang Xi gave her so they could compensate the victim of the housing rent scam.

The mother at first would not believe that Jiang Hai was capable of dirty dealings but Jiang Xi explained that Jiang Hai was actually a victim as well by his runaway boss.

Jiang Xi broke up with Mingbo after she paid the 30K he lent her.  She also added a bit of interest to the money.

Meanwhile, Wei Ming did the dirty of Rock Technology.  He dropped their cooperation and went for a smaller company.

GuXu thought that Wei Ming started a war against Rock and OP System.  He won’t let Wei Ming get away with it.

Episode 25

Guxu gatecrashed ARK and the new company inauguration.  Guxu had his lawyer with him and told the smaller company that Rock is suing them for plagiarising Rock’s OP System.

Meanwhile, Wei Ming parents kidnapped Gougou.  Even Wei Ming was not happy with what his parents did but they explained to him that they could use Gougou as a bartering tool to facilitate a cheaper and quicker divorce from Li Shuang.

Li Shuang was inconsolable and would have agreed to anything Wei Ming demanded but Guxu was there to tell her to calm down.  He reminded Li Shuang that Wei MIng was sneaky enough to get what he wanted and not give anything back in return.  He would still try to get custody of Gougou.

Meanwhile, Jiang Xi was doing a bit of mind game with Joyce.  Jiang Xi told her that Wei Ming only cares for himself.  He was only using Joyce for what her family could give him.

It was the new year festival or Valentine’s day so there was a celebration.

Joyce invited her parents to meet Wei Ming but they told her what for?  Wei Ming was still married.

Joyce gave Wei Ming a month to get divorced.

Finally, Li Shuang decided to play dirty as well.  She will go down on Wei Ming’s underhanded  tactics.

Episode 26

Sister Wei, Director of ARK arranged an art appreciation dinner with a few of Ark directors and shareholders.

Sister Wei asked Wei Ming to bring Li Shuang who she got really on with the last time they met.

Wei Ming said that Li Shuang has some engagement at Gougou’s school so she can’t come.  Joyce attended though.

The guests were just about to sit down a long table for dinner when Li Shuang turned up.  She went mental and announced that Wei Ming had dumped her because he was having it off with Joyce.  She was so annoyed and asked Wei Ming to return Gougou back to her.

Wei Ming was about to hit her when Sister Wei warned him not to cross the line.

Li Shuang hurt her hand but she was hyped up with excitement for what she did.  She told Jiang Xi that she let Wei Ming have the full force of her ire.

Guxu turned up and saw Li Shuang’s hand.  He wanted to know who did it.  He was ready to beat up Wei Ming but both Li Shuang and Jiang Xi stopped him.  They both told him that Wei Ming was trending.

And sure enough everybody at ARK found out what happened and they were sniggered  regarding the shameless Wei Ming and Joyce.

Joyce’s parents had no choice but to agree to a marriage between Wei Ming and Joyce.

Sister Wei and the Chairman called Wei Ming.  They warned him not to. bring the office into any disrepute.  They told him to pacify Li Shuang before she does more damage.  Give her Gougou back.

Gougou and Li Shuang had a happy reunion.  Wei MIng saw how happy his daughter was despite shedding a bucketful of tears.

He also arranged for a divorce meeting.  Li Shuang agreed to a lesser alimony on the condition that she gets full custody of Gougou.

They did divorce and Wei Ming did feel rather sorry that he ended up divorced from Li Shuang who told him that they were now strangers.

Episode 27

Li Shuang started a new life alone with Gougou.  She told Guxu that she would like to start her own company.  Guxu immediately said to go for it and he will help her but Li Shuang turned down his offer.  She wanted to start on her own to prove to herself that she was really capable.

Guxu did not say anymore but he was always around bringing food for Li Shuang and Gougou and also to Li Shuang’s new company called Fly.

Meanwhile, Wei MIng was finding that Joyce was not someone who he can easily manipulate.  He got a shock when she announced that she was pregnant.  She also wanted a bigger house which Wei Ming said they could not afford and perhaps her parents could lend them the money to buy it.

Joyce was shocked.  She said that she would not dream of asking her parents for money.  She said that she trusted Wei Ming to find the money for the new house himself.

And he did by telling his parents that the villa he promised them had to wait.  He was buying a house for Joyce.  He did promised his parents that when the time is ripe he will get them a mansion rather than a villa.

His parents seemed to accept this.  When they found out that Joyce was pregnant, Wei Ming’s mother immediately said that they would move in to look after Joyce but Joyce was having none of it.  She said that her former nanny will look after her and the baby when it is born.

Episode 36

It is a happy ending forLi Shuang and Guxu.  They ended up getting married with Gougou as a flower girl.

After the sadness of Jiang Xi’s mother having a terminal illness, Jiang Xi caught the bouquet when Li Shuang tossed it during her wedding.  Jiang Xi looked at Martin, who shyly looked away but rather excited.

Jiang Hai found himself a new job and a new girlfriend.

Joyce found peace with her baby in the countryside.

Sister Wei forgave her cheating husband.  They went abroad to live.

Meanwhile, it was not quite a happy ending for Wei Ming.  He lost his new wife, he lost his new baby and lost all his money to Joyce from their divorce.

He was arrested and serving time in jail.  He was so regretful of how his life turned out.  He realised that Li Shuang and Gougou were the two most important people to him but it was now all too late.
