Episode 1
I love the first episode. It is intriguing and the acting and location is quite good.
Wen Xiang had come to Shanghai to find Wang Ya, the best detective in Shanghai.
On the first day of her arrival, she found out that Wang Ya was no longer investigating and his agency had closed down.
It so happened that there was a suspicious death in town.
Zhen Zhen the town pathologist could not find any evidence of murder but reckoned the dead Xu Jie died from being scared to death.
Wen Xiang trespassed into the where the death occurred. She told Chief Zheng and Dr Zhen that she could smell something strange in the room and sure enough they found a pill that give off the smell.
Wen Xiang asked Chief Zheng where she could find Wang Ya
Chief Zheng who happened to be friends with Wang Ya made a not too serious deal with Wen Xiang. She helped solved the case of Xu Jie and he would then take her to Wang Ya.
What Wen Xiang did not know was that she had met Wang Ya already and he had been helping her with another case in town.
Anyway, another death happened and Wen Xiang and Wang Ya got caught in the middle of it. They were both arrested.
Wen Xiang confessed to Wang Ya (the guy) that she had come to Shanghai to find Wang Ya.
Wang Ya was intrigued.
Wen Xiang said that she did not know how Wang Ya looked like but he saved her live once upon a time.
She would have drowned if Wang Ya did not jumped into the river to save her.
Episode 2
Wen Xiang and Wang Ya started working together to find out who the real killer was. They used puppetry to smoke out the killer during a festival in the plaza.
Their ingenious action was witness by Mo Xi.
Episode 3
Moxi wanted to recruit Wen Xiang into his magic troupe but she was not interested because she was determined to find Wang Ya and asked him to make her his detective disciple.
They solved the case of the three murdered guys. The culprit was the son of the Fang family who the three guys murdered and robbed.
Wen Xiang finally found out that the guy she had been running around with was Wang Ya.
Wang Ya became incommunicado after they solved the case. What happened 5 years ago that ended Wang Ya’s career as a police office came to the fore once again.
Wei Xiang found out that Wang Ya killed his best friend whether by mistake or premiditated.
Episode 4
I am really loving this drama more than I thought I would. I am not really partial to Republican dramas but there are so many twists and turns into this which make it interesting.
Anyway, Chief Zheng was overcome with joy when Wen Xiang told him that Zhen Zhen had agreed to go to the Magic show.
So they went to the theatre and Wang Ya turned up too. He looked so handsome clean shave, newly barbered and in a beautifully fitted suit.
`The show was well attended including by Major Tom, the American who served as Governor General. The show was really exciting but turned hairy when before their eyes they saw Moxi’s beautiful female assistant who was flying on air plunged to her death on the floor.
A very shocked Moxi was arrested but Wei Xiang said that it does not make sense. Why would he kill someone during his show.
But Major Tom got it in for Moxi.
Episode 5
Wang Ya started helping Wei Xiang, Zhen Zhen and Chief Zheng to investigate the case against Moxi because of the envelope he received during the magic show.
Chief Zheng was shocked to see the reappearance of the black envelope from five years ago. They think it has something to do with what happened at the magic show.
A journalist and her photographer went to interview Moxi in prision. The photographer used his old fashion flashbulb to take a photo of Moxi. But just like a flash of light, Moxi was gone right before their eyes.
