Episode 1
Yey, a new Zhang Miao Yi drama and with Dylan Kuo too. Yes!!!
The first episode is so cute. It makes you want to proceed to the next one which is a sign that it is an interesting drama.
Anyway, Shen Ke Yi was on a bridal sedan which was on a street parade side by side with a funeral cortege of her ‘dead’ groom, Prince Jin. Superstition has it that the dead Prince Jin’s spirit will come back home to the Capital to his wife.
Shen Ke Yi was a substitute bride for her elder sister. Keyi is the illigitimate daughter of the Prime Minister. She grew up in the street brought up by her nanny after the death of her mother when she was very very young.
As the Prime Minister and his wife did not like their own daughter to be a widow from her wedding night, they made Shen Ke Yi a substitute bride for her elder sister. When the marriage issue came about, Ke Yi was not bothered at first with marrying a dead man because she reckoned she and her nanny will have a permanent home and food on the table. So she resigned herself. But the Nanny told her that this kind of life was not for Keyi so she told her to escape.
What Keyi did not know was that her father and stepmother went to Empress Dowager to say that it was better that Shen Ke Yi is killed so she could travel to the afterlife with Prince Jin.
The Dowager was shocked with the suggestion of the parents but when she found out that Keyi escaped, she had a second thought and perhaps it was not a bad idea to kill Keyi and be buried with Prince Jin.
Keyi got into trouble escaping and ended up rescuing a very wounded soldier who she did not know was her husband, Prince Jin.
She took Prince Jin to safety and nursed him but then why she was fetching some water, her stepmother got her.
Episode 2
Keyi was rescued by Prince Jin from being sacrificed. He took her back to his mansion but when she woke up the next morning, she was told she had to leave.
When she refused to leave because Madam Qin who works for her stepmother told her that she needed to steal a jade token from Prince Jin if Keyi wanted to see her nanny ever again.
So poor Keyi was expelled and thrown outside.
Meanwhile, Prince Jin went to the palace during morning court and almost killed Prime Minister Shen after he found out that the minister was the reason why there were no food was sent to his troop as the minister had embezzled the money.
Episode 3
The Emperor encouragement that Princen Jin and Sehn Keyi should have a baby as soon as possible.
Keyi was all for it but Prince Jin was still suspicious of her but despite it, he can’t help being attracted to her because she reminds him of his gentle caring mother.
They were having lunch when assassins attack. Prince Jin could not really believe that Keyi would put herself in danger to protect him but she did. She took an arrow for him.
Prince Jin staged a vigil outside of the tent where Keyi was being seen to. He asked his sister to update him of Keyi’s condition.
He was so relieved when she finally woke up.
Episode 4
One of the assassins was captured and tortured to confession. He gave a extensive map of the Wen Mansion which he said came from Shen Ke Yi.
Prince Jin believed him and started to punish poor Ke Yi including making her kneel outside until the rain stopped.
Episode 5
One of her maid signalled to her not to drink the water. Keyi realised that she had been poisoned. She had to spend the night outside in the open because Madam Xin had locked Keyi’s room.
Poor Keyi was subjected to beating by her maids led by Madam Xin.
The maid who felt pity on her went to Prince Jin and told them what was happening. At that same moment, he noticed that the map Keyi supposed to have given to the assassin was written on a different kind of paper that is not use in his mansion.
He began to realise that Keyi was a victim.
He saved her from the maids who he punished but still kept Madam Xin so he could keep an eye on her.
The doctor found out the extent of Keyi’s injury which shocked Princess Yunyang, Prinve Jin’s sister.
Prince Jin felt guilty of how he mistreated Keyi so he asked her how he could compensate.
She told him that she wanted to be able to wander around the mansion.
Prince Jin gave her his jade token, the token she wanted to steal from him. Keyi was aghast to take it especially when she heard that the jade was given to him by his father and it is death exempt token. Whoever has it cannot be punished by death.
Episode 17
Keyi found out the Prince Jin was about to marry the Princess of Liang State. She was so gutted and when she saw Prince Jin, she confronted him about.
He really can’t deny it. She called him a liar and then she fainted.
The doctor said that Keyi is three months pregnant.
Prince Jin was happy about the baby but also very concerned that Keyi was very unhappy.

Episode 23
Keyi is now divorced from Prince Jin. She still refuses to tell him that she did not lose the baby.
Yunqing finally tied the knot with Guard Wan but she collapsed and died on their wedding night.
Episode 24
It is a happy ending but the romantic bit was not long enough.
