9 May 2024: It was really out of the blue when #ZhaoLusi was officially announced by the 2024 Paris Olympics committee as one of the 50 rigorously selected torchbearers to welcome the game. Everyone was caught off guard that it immediately trended in ‘Weibo and other social media outlets.
This is a welcome news for Kelulis everywhere as well as China itself.
Zhao Lusi’s global popularity cannot be denied.
17 May 2024: Lusi left Chengdu for Toullouse, France where she was met by rapturous pockets of fans patiently waited for her at the airport.
18 May 2024: Today is the day!
Lusi will carry the Olympic Torch during Stage 10 at Gers.
Lusi had the time of her life. She really enjoyed the moment. Her happiness was so contagious, it was charming and adorable watching her doing her bit.
