Episode 1
Blurb: From the Chronicles of the Nine Domains of Taiping.
During the 970th year of the Chao calendar, from the sky came shooting stars which were split into three. They fell into the Southwest area and three families shared the meteors. The shards provided divine powers to the three families. However, nothing is ever free in this world because the powers comes with side effects.
The Wei family who happened to get the Blood Amber Stone which enabled them to gain super speed and strenght. But without the stone, death would come calling.
The Mu Family obtained the Fantasy Stone which gave them the power for mind control. The side effect was becoming mentally screwed up and prone to going berserk.
The Mo Family ended up wtih the Profound Yang Stone. This stone is more challenging as the family needed to overcome many struggles and ordeals but they would become the strongest family of all.
The crux of the matter was that the three families became mortal enemies of each other because they needed to protect their own stone. If the three stones are gathered up together, then they would lose their power.
The Shen Family Mansion..
Shen Zhi Heng contracted a strange disease where he could only consume blood in order for him to stay ‘alive’
He and his grandmother, who was his guardian, became nomadic to protect him. They travelled the world. She often gather chicken blood for Shen Zhi Heng.
As he grew older, he has only two desire, first to find the person who turned his into blood drinking being and second to find his brother who he got separated from.
Living so long, he had seen deaths and separations.
Wow, I love love love this first episode. Really stylish and rather original.
Anyway, there was a charity gala evening at the Mi Mansion. The elite of the town attended including Shen Zhi Heng.
Another attendee was Li Ying Liang, a young government official who had been given an order to assassinate Shen Zhi Heng by whatever means.
At the mansion, the 8th wife begged her husband to introduced their baby to the crowd. At first Boss Mi declined but his 8th wife prevailed having given him the much long healthy son.
This only made the first wife irate and took it out on her blind daughter, Mi Lan. She beat up Milan who was not even healed from the last beating she got from her mother. The torture was heard by Shen Zhi Heng so he flick a little stick which flew into the palm of Mrs Mi which stopped her from further hitting Mi Lan.
Shen Zhi Heng decided to leave the party early. He was driving his new motorcar in the snowy evening when it suddenly halted. So he was on foot on his way home when he was ambushed by gun men. He killed two but the third guy had two armalites which he used similtenously to gun down Shen Zhi Heng. He check that Shen Zhi Heng was dead. He was sure he was dead as he was peppered in bullets.
He reported to Li Ying Liang that the deed was done.
Li Ying Liang called the police who went to check and found no body.
Meanwhile, Mi Lan had decided that it was better for her to be dead rather than be a punchbag to her sadistic mother. She put on a flannelette wrap and left the Mi Mansion. She walked and walked until she found an old temple where she wanted to die.
But then she head someone calling for help. It was the bleeding Shen Zhi Heng. He immediately noticed that Mi Lan was blind. Mi Lan told him that she had come to die.
Shen Zhi Heng asked if perhaps she could postpone her dying and help him live instead. He said to contact a hospital and locate a doctor, Situ Wei Lan who was the only man that could cure him.
Innocent Milan agreed at once. She even left her wrap to keep Shen Zhi Heng warm.🤣
Mi Lan walked back and was given a lift by Li Ying Liang to her house.
Mi Lan’s maid was waiting for her and took her hurridly to clean up before Mrs Mi finds her. Mi Lan washed her bloody hands in warm water. The blood was from Shen Zhi Heng’s body. Mi Lan also washed her face from the same water and miraculously she could see.
Wow. Loving it.
Episode 2
The regain of Mi Lan’s eyesight was extremely temporary. After a minute or two she was blind again.
Despite being sightless, she went out to Keats’ Hospital to look for Situ Wei Lian.
the byronesque Situ Wei Lian was a young doctor who was so sure of himself. Mi Lan made him promise to go look for the close to death Shen Zhi Heng otherwise she told him that she will answer to him. Our Mi Lan was really fierce.
As soon as it got dark, Situ Wei Lian went to look for Shen Zhi Heng and then covertly took him back to his house. He managed to remove all the bullets and make Zhi Heng Well.
After a 20 hours in a coma, Zhi Heng was starving but found that he could no longer eat his favourite steak or drink his wine.
Situ Wei Lian said that his injury this time was almost fatal that it left its side effect. Zhi Heng would more and more hunger for 🩸 🩸 blood.
Anyway, as soon as he was able to, Zhi Heng went to find Mi Lan. He went to her window and pass her a potted camelia who has little buds.
He thank her for saving him but she said she actually now own half of his life. He totally agreed.
He assured her that he will come see her again when the camelia flowers are blooming.
Li Yin Liang and his men were busy illegally forclosing on businesses. Their activities were being reported by Shen Zhi Heng’s newspaper. This was the reason why they tried to kill him.
Episode 3
Li Yin Liang could not comprehend how Shen Zhi Heng was still alive. Superintendent Chi was not very pleased to learn that Zhi Heng was alive after he was assured that Shen Zhi Heng was as dead as a dodo.
Li Yin Liang invited Shen Zhi Heng to supper at a quiet restaurant. Shen Zhi Heng turned up and was promptly bribed by Li Yin Liang. He told Shen Zhi Heng to go easy on reporting about the Business Development Agency and he will be remunerated handsomely.
Shen Zhi Heng agreed a price, Li Yin Liang’s life. He then proceeded to stuff Li Yin Liang’s mouth with his own tie and use the chopsticks to stab him on the legs. Li Yin Liang was saved from death by the arrival of Superintendent Chi. To get away, Shen Zhi Heng used Li Yin Liang as hostage.
The next day, Shen Zhi Heng and Situ Wei Lian went to visit the Mi Mansion.
They were received by Mrs Mi who told them that Mi Lan was out. Mi Lan was actually ill in her bedroom after she was locked in when her mother went to beat her again but pulling her beautiful long locks of hair. What really triggered Mi Lan to finally fight back was when her mother tried to grab the pot of camellia from Mi Lan. With their tussling, the pot fell and Mi Lan had had enough, she pushed her shocked mother. Mi Lan then grabbed her walking stick and was going for her mother who run to the door and had it locked.
Loving this drama. Very atmospheric.
Episode 4
Casting Vengo Gao as a vampire was really inspired.

Episode 24
The ending was very dramatic and those who read the book this drama was adapted from were very unhappy. The book apparently had a happy ending but well this drama did not end well with the lovers.
It was the second day of Chinese New Year. Shen Zhiheng and Mi Lan were making dumplings. Zhi Heng advised Mi Lan to perhaps she could bring some to her mother at the Mi Mansion. Her mother was alone in the house.
Mi Lan went to the mansion and found her mother. They had a heart to heart. Mi Lan grudgingly forgave the neglect and astounding cruelty of her mother towards her.
While Mi Lan was at the mansion, Mu Li Hua turned up and kidnapped Mi Lan.
Mu Li Hua then put Mi Lan into a cell with another capture, Li Ying Liang. Mu Li Hua was torturing Mi Lan when she noticed Mi Lan’s necklace. It was the Blood Amber Stone. Mu Li Hua grabbed it. With the Blood Amber Stone combined with her own Fantasy Stone, she got it made. She became so powerful that when Shen Zhi Heng came to rescue Mi Lan, Mu Li Hua made mincemeat of both Zhi Heng and vampire Si Tu.
All hopes were almost gone especially when Mu Li Hua revealed that Mi Lan is on a schooner sailing to her doom.
Poor Zhi Heng was almost zapped to his death but then Li Ying Liang turned up and push Zhi Heng to safety while he got incinerated to smithereens. Poor bad boy Li Ying Liang.
Mr Mo then appeared with his Profound Yang Stone, which is the strongest of all the stones. From his stone, he managed to cultivate a firey bird which took over Zhi Heng’s body. Finally, the fight between Zhi Heng and Mu Li Hua was even and of course Zhi Heng overpowered Mu Li Hua. She finally met her maker.
Now, it was time to save Mi Lan who had been put in a chest which was nailed shut. Fortunately, Zhi Heng found her and put her to safety while he tried to manoeuvre the schooner to land into the shore.
Weakened Mi Lan was able to shout to Zhi Heng that an injured guard was about to detonate the schooner. Zhi Heng was too late to prevent it.
Mi Lan and Zhi Heng found each other in the deep and both swam up. They found a wreckage which they used as a raft.
Huddled lovingly together, Mi Lan said that she wishes they land into a small island and be able to live freely with no constraints. Another plan was she wanted them to continue with the newspaper and she would do music.
It was then that Zhi Heng told her that she must stay with Si Tu. She must look after herself. He explained that his end is nigh. As the sun was about to rise, he will be gone. Without the Blood Amber Stone, he will be as dead as a dodo.
And the end was the sun rises… but there was the sound of a ship coming nearby.
Then the Shen Mansion was shone.
