Plot Summary
Shen Zhi Yao was the only heiress of the ultra rich Shen family.
To find someone to love her for herself alone, she decided to become a plain Jane. She had special makeup to make her look ordinary bordering on the unattractive, she wore huge black rimmed glasses to complete her look.
What do you know?!!! Despite her downgraded look, she snagged the handsomest guy in Tsinghua University. He became her boyfriend.
She was overjoyed that he likes her for herself, completely ignoring that he was really not that nice to her.
Her lovesickness cummulated in finally deciding to reveal the turth and went to find Qin Xiao who was in a bar. But she overheard him and his friends laughing at her expense.
Qin Xiao acknowleged that he was only with Zhi Yao because she was a useful tool to shield his white moonlight, Ran Ran. Qin Xiao knew that whoever he dated would get all the bullying at school and he could not do that to Ran Ran who was so beautiful but weak and also suffers bout of depression.
Zhi Yao was his shield. She suffered all kinds of torture like being kidnapped and all. She put up with thesre because she loves Qin Xiao but finally she woke up and had enough of Qin Xiao and Ran Ran.
She revealed her true self. She was beautiful and rich.
Despite awakening, she did not protect herself but willingly and stupidly went on her way to face danger.
Ran Ran who was dropped by Qin Xiao because he belatedly realised that he had been in love with Zhi Yao all along.
The one who is really been protecting Zhi Yao was Cheng Ye, her brother, who was not a biological sibling. He had a crush on her for years but Zhi Yao was not into him.
Apparently Cheng Ye’s parents saved and protected the mega rich Mr Shen, Zhi Yao’s father. After Cheng Ye’s parents’ death, Mr Shen took care of Cheng Ye. At one point, he had hopes that Cheng Ye and Zhi Yao would get married but he was an englightened father. He could not interfere with his daughter’s happiness. Her boyfriend/husband should be chosen by her. Aww
Cheng Ye agreed with Mr Shen.
Anyway, Zhi Yai was kidnapped again by Ran Ran’s instigation. Ran Ran was determined to end Zhi Yao’s life but Qin Xiao arrived just in time to take the knife and got fatally stabbed instead.
Zhi Yao was so upset but made peace with Qin Xiao before his death.
