I love this painting by Giovanni Bellini. It is absolutely awe-inspiring.
Apparently it took about four years to complete this painting. It was started in 1475 and completed in 1479. It was done in oil.
Giovanni Bellini was an Italian Renaissance painter. He was born in 1430 in Venice.

Peter and I went to the Easter Sunday service today at our local Church. It was a lovely service.
Today, the Easter service was about not fearing death. This is one of the lessons in Christ, our Lord’s death and resurrection. Provided we believe in Him and lead a good life we will be with HIM after we passed on.
Our vicar said that the egg, chocolate eggs, lol, for Easter is symbolic breaking the wall of death into life. It is resurrection into a new life.
Each Easter we are given a chance to die the sin and be renewed, thus, the service also encapsulates a baptismal ceremony where one is asked to promise to do away with sinning and forgive and forget all the harms done to self.
One of the songs sang was this beautiful hymn Take My life and Let it be by France Havergal. This was beautifully sang by the choir whilst we were taking communion.

Good Friday is a very important event in the Christian faith. This day reminds us of how God, The Father, has given us his only Begotten Son, to suffer and then die for all our sins, thereby cleansing the world of sin. And those who believe in Him shall have an everlasting life with the Father in paradise.
Good Friday is in effect a jump-start for anyone to live a good, obedient to the Lord’s great mercies and manifesto. It makes us evolve from just being human into good children of the Highest Being.
