Did you know?
As a child, he was know as lediable boiteux , the limping devil. This was due to his clubfoot.
Though he was rather self-conscious of his clubfoot, it did not stop him from pursuing many activities. He was rather athletic boy.
He was only an animal lover.
He had a tame bear living in his dormitory in Trinity College in Cambridge
He also had a dog which was half wolf.
He used to have a menagerie in his villa in Italy where he kept, 10 horses, eight dogs, 3 monkeys, five cats, an eagle, a crow and a falcon.
But the animal he loved most was a Newfoundland dog he called Boatswain. Byron nursed the dog when it was ill of rabies, unmindful that he might catch it himself.
When the dog finally passed away, Byron was so moved that he wrote o poem about his dog. Byron also wrote in his will that he wanted to be buried next to his dog.
