Cast

This film really is more the back story of the guardians.  Somehow they were interconnected 1000 years ago.  They were all victims of their time and upbringing.So love the two films.  They were so fresh and funny.

The guardians were so looking forward to having their 49th paragon which meant they can reincarnate themselves.

Their candidate was of course Kim So Hong, the brother of Kim Ja Hong from the first film.

Kim So Hong was accidentally shot by Private Won Dong-yeon.  Together with First Lieutenant Park Moo-shin, Dong Yeon buried the body of Kim So Hong and then declared him as AWOL.

The guardians are trying to prove that Kim So Hong was wronged by Dong Yeon and Park Moo Shin in so many levels.

They did not only shot him and illegally buried him but actually killed him because the two both knew that Kim So Hong was still alive when they buried him.

Kim So Hong was shocked to know these because Dong Yeon and Park Moo Shin were his best friends in the army.

In the end, the guardian court decided that Kim So Hong was so wrong so he was allowed for an immediate reincarnation.

Kim So Hong though was so half-hearted to be able to live again because being alive is not all that is cracked up to be.  Living is hard.  (I hear you, lol).

As to the guardians they had to wait for their own reincarnation because they were supposed to lead their charge not to interfere too much in their human lives, which they did a lot.

BTW, in their previous life, Gang-rim was a son of a general, who adopted an orphan, Haewonmak who he cherish more than his son.  Gang-rim became jealous of Haewonmak especially when he heard his father telling Haewonmak that he will be in charge of subduing the enemy.

The enemy was a minority tribe in which the family of Lee Deok-choon was a part of.

Deok Choon saw her parents killed by Haewonmak.  Deok Choon managed to get away with the children into the forest.  One day they were found by Haewonmak.  Instead of killing them, Haewonmak started nurturing them.

Haewonmak and Deok Choon developed and uneasy friendship.

The general was dying during another battle.  Gang-rim was so disgusted with his father that he ignored his plea for help and just left him to die.

But after a while, he went looking for him but he can’t find the body.

As his father was dead, he became the new general and one of his first actions was to hunt down Haewonmak.

He fatally stabbed Haewonmak but from behind him, Deok Choon stabbed him.  With his last dying breath, he struck Deok Choon with his sword.

They were all dead together 1000 years ago.
