Episode 1
Qi Nian is a manga artist but she was not very good with the storytelling parts when it came to romance.
With her latest manga, the readers complained that the boy and the girl in her story had overcome many problems and tribulations and only to have the briefest of unromantic ending.
Zhou Xin Xin, her editor, warned her that if her writing does not improve, their manager might let her go; give her the sack.
Zhou Xin Xin told her to find inspiration of a heart-pounding love story.
Qi Nian told Zhou Xin Xin asked what is a heart-thumping love story. Xin Xin explained about looking at your lover in the eyes and your heartbeats quicken, your throat dries, and feel a bit faint.
Qi Nian just doesn’t know what Xin Xin was talking about. She was outside pondering about a heart-stopping love story when a dog came to her and ate her sweets or was it beef jerky?
Anyway, the dog has a name tag. He is called Qi Bao.
Qi Bao has some sort of electronic digital contraption which made Qi Bao moved. Qi Nian held on to his lead and then ended up on the pier when a handsome man was waiting.
Qi Nian felt her first heart-pounding moment. She finally realised what Zhou Xin Xin meant while she looked at the handsome stranger’s eyes.
Accidentally, they fell over with him on top of her. Qi Bao jumped over them making the gorgeous guy kissed her on the lips.
She was absolutely entranced.
He apologised to her. She wanted to get is number but she received a call from Zhou Xin Xin telling her that her deadline for her new manga was in an hour’s time.
Zhou Xin Xin asked the stranger to wait for her as she will be back in an hour.
Zhou Xin Xin was pleasantly surprised when Qi Nian presented her first draft of her new story. It was was a man kissing her girl.
Zhou Xin Xin wanted to know where she got her inspiration.
Qi Nian said it happened to her now, not long ago.
Zhou Xin Xin wanted to know who the man was, and that was she remembered that she asked the man to wait for her.
He was gone when she got there.
Now her hunt for the handsome stranger began. She later found out that he was a professor of architecture at Chunming University where her two best friends work/study. He is Ji Yan Xin.
She attended his class and he remembered her.
Bonus scene: Ji Yan Xin told the girl who his grandfather chose for him to marry that he was not really into her when she came to his house and totally ignore his dog.
Episode 2
Prof Ji had this puzzle box that normal mortal beings won’t be able to open and yet Qi Nian opened it easily. He was impressed. He said that it could be opened into ways, in some mathematical ways but Qi Nian did not use any of his equational methods instead she told him that she is familiar with this type of box because her father is an expert in ancient puzzle boxes.
Prof Ji said that there was a prize to whoever opens the box. He wanted to know what was her request/
She said that she wanted to see him every day. He granted it by making her his very first TA (Teaching Assistant) He found later that she was so competent.
Prof Ji is not only a professor by career, he also owns an architectural firm and when he was away, Qi Nian work so hard everyone was completing her to Prof Ji afterwards.
Prof Ji has a condition where he can’t remember names.
Qi Nian and Prof Ji had an agreement that he would keep her as his TA if she could make him remember her name, she has seven days to do it.
Qi Nian is enjoying her research about love, imagining her reenacting a cute scene in the Japanese live-action movie, Close Range Love, where the lead student girl hid in the teacher’s podium. The teacher then kissed her secretly while in class.
Episode 3
Qi Nian found out that her girlie flatmate was actually a boy. A very talented manga, a cos-playing boy called Key.
Qi Nian met Prof Ji’s grandpa who seemed to approve of her.
Episode 4
Qi Nian left her job as a TA because she is not actually a student at the university.
Prof Ji misses her.
Qi Nian who was feverish went to the symposium where Prof Ji was going to show his project. Qi Nian was to give him the file for his project but she fainted as she was leaving.
Prof Ji had to abandon his part in the symposium to take Qi NIan to the hospital.
Qi Nian confessed to Prof Ji inside the bus in front of an avid audience.
Prof Ji did not give her a direct answer when she said that she intends to pursue him.
Episode 5
Qi Nian told Xin Xin that she had really fallen in love with Prof Ji and determined to woo him.
She went to his house and got herself hired as his housekeeper. He told her that there are three things she must comply with. First, not to interfere with his work, second, don’t go to the forbidden room no matter what she hears, and third, she cannot stay overnight and if she does, she must stay in her room throughout the night.
She told Key about the forbidden room. He made her so curious, she was very tempted to open the door and go explore.
Episode 6
Yap, Prof Ji told her to leave because he found her in the forbidden room.
It looks like Key is actually Prof Ji’s runaway brother.
Qi Nian went back to see Prof Ji and they sort of made up, not as lovers but as employee and boss.
