Remember the infamous restoration of a fresco in Zaragoza, Spain by Cecilia Gimenez? The one with Jesus ending up resembling a rather hirsute hominid?
Well the 82 years old painter was so overwhelmed with the support of her neighbours and people of Borja; tourists flocked to the church to photograph her effort, which she accomplished “with all the love in the world”.
Anyway despite the laughter and sniggering, Cecilia Giminez felt vindicated as the Church in Borja has received tens of thousands in donation from the tourists and visitors who came in their thousands.
This inspired the indefatigable pensioner to hold her own one man show highlighting her other art works.
