Carl Sagan
Carl Sagan’s study of Mars was phenomenal.
He was one of the first popularist scientists. Imagine a more charismatic and enthusiastic Brian Cox and that was Carl Sagan in the 70’s-80s. He knew how to talk to laymen and non-science minded people. Sagan was able to make everyday people understand science and enjoy it.
Sagan was also one of those scientists that believe in the existence of life elsewhere in the universe.
He was a prolific writer of science fiction and the more factual ones. He wrote a bestselling novel about extra terrestrial life contacting Earth; the book was called Contact which was adapted into a film starring Jodie Foster.
Sagan also produced a tv series which he made into a book called Cosmos. It was about space.
