Phobia

Kymophobia or Cymophobia

Reading that very interesting piece by Peter on surfing in the Philippines made me think of waves, the gigantic waves we had to ride back in December whilst in Pagudpud, Philippines. It was fantastic. It was fun.

It made me wonder though if there is such a thing as a fear of waves, they can be scary. Especially when you are caught unaware.

Of course there is, nowadays, a type of phobia seems to be attached to almost everything. Anyway kymophobia is the fear of waves and its motion. Kymophobia or cymophobia is also has to do with being wary of undulating and rolling landscape.
