Episode 1

I love this first episode. Qin Lan is just as stunningly gorgeous and perfect as Dr Tang.

Dr Tang was the shining star of Kermede Medical Centre in the US when Liu Feng first met her.

Over the years, Liu Feng who is now the Vice President of Anle Heart Centre had watched her progress and courted her to return to China.

She did return and became the first female Director of Anle ever. But she found out that it was not a bed of roses to start with because she made an enemy with Director Song Bao De as it was his department that was given to Dr Tang.

In retaliation, Song Bao De chose the most taciturn surgeons to assist Dr Tang. They were Jiang Bai Le, Long Xiang Dong, Qin Da Zhong and Zhou Da.

These doctors are very misogynist and gossiped that Dr. Tang got her position for being the ex-girlfriend of Vice President Liu.  They hate women who rely on men to get promoted.

They were dismissive of her and had already asked to be transferred.

Anyway, Dr Tang got to find out about their attitude and told them that there were so procedures in the hospital which will not allow them to transfer at will.

Their first case was a total aorta replacement using the David Operation on a sixteen-year-old girl.

The surgeons are thinking that Dr Tang was overreaching herself.

The young patient said that her father died of Marfan Syndrome and she knew how it was grueling if the surgery does not fully work.

She told Dr Tang that she would rather not be resuscitated if the surgery fails.  She would not want to live like a vegetable for the rest of her life.

The operation was a success and showed the misogynist doctor what she could do.

Episode 2

VP Liu was very ambitious for the hospital so he started putting ideas on Dr Tang that an artificial heart is the way to go forward for heart transplants.

Dr Tang declined to be a part of it but VP Liu was not giving up.

The next patients were a husband and wife who had a car crash.

Dr Tang operated on the wife, who begged Dr Tang to check on her husband.

Dr Tang asked where the husband was and found him under Director Cui’s neurosurgery department.

Just like the other doctors, Director Cui was patronising towards Dr Tang.  But they had a bet which Dr Tang won.

She correctly gave a prognosis that the husband had myoma, a benign tumor that tends to break up the veins and arteries or the brain which can then cause an aneurysm.

Episode 3

I am loving this medical drama.  The characters are personable.  There are also funny moments.

This third episode is about heart transplant.

A former patient Dr Tang operated on in the US was admitted to the hospital.  She has only at least a year to live with her current heart.

Then as luck would have it a heart became available.  Dr Tang was ready to operate, she had harvested the ‘new’ heart and ready to transplant but she was stopped by VP Lie and Commander Ouyang.

They said that there is a person who was more deserving of the heart who is now on his way to the hospital. Without the heart, he has only three days to live.

Dr Tang was upset for her old patient but the hospital said that they had to follow the rules otherwise doctors would be giving away heart willy-nilly, therefore, there would not be equality.

Dr Tang sadly had to comply with the rules but afterwards she determinedly told VP Liu that perhaps an artificial heart has a place in heart transplantation.

Episode 4

Dr Tang met Ye Yi Ming in the neighbourhood where she was looking for an apartment as she had decided to stay in China.

Dr Tang and her team started to get along better.  They were very concerned when she was smacked by an autistic young patient when she was examining him.

It turned out that he had a bit of a phobia with men in white coat and later on with white lights so his heart operation had to be postponed for a few hours.

The boy story got more complicated when his real who had tried to abandon him turned up in guilt.  He was very remorseful for abandoning the boy.

Dr Tang was surprised by Liu Feng’s wife who turned up at the hospital warning her to not break up her family.

Dr Tang was totally gobsmacked and later told Liu Feng to sort the issue out with his wife.  Tell her that there was nothing between them,  not then, ten years ago and not now.
