Sandwich is named after the Earl of Sandwich who used to ask his servants to bring him meat placed between two slices of bread. He needed the quick and convenient meal to sustain him during gambling through the late nights.
Sandwich has taken off in a big way. With employees, the sandwich is the lunchtime meal.
For 15 years as an employee, I mainly took sandwich at work.
Before I started working, I was a stay at home mum, while Peter went to work. I would make him his sandwiches. But as soon as I became employed as well, he took over with the sandwich making and has made us both our packed lunch.
I do like ham sandwich while Peter prefers cheese.
