Episode 1

The first episode is so cute and engaging and makes me want to proceed to the next.  Therefore, I really had to stop myself as I need to write a summary.

So here is a quick one.

Gu Xun and Yue Qian Ling go to the same university.

Yue Qian Ling developed an immediate crush of Gu Xun when they met during a WipeOut/paintballing exercise.

Gu Xun was not moved by her because he thought that though she is very pretty, she is a bit of a snake as she would sacrifice any of her teammates during paintballing.

But it got more complicated.  What Gu Xun did not know was that his goddess, Sticky Dough Twist, is none other than Yue Qian Ling in ‘real life’.

Gu Xun is a budding games developer/designer.  No matter how complicated his design, Sticky Dough Twist can overcome it which made Gu Xun the more interested in her and no one else. Sticky Dough Twist is the e-game ID of Yue Qian Ling.

Yue Qian Ling did not know that her games/online confidant ‘Campus Hunk’ was Gu Xun.

As fate would have it, Gu Xun started working at HC Games as Yue Qian Ling was finalising her resignation.

So that is the gist of the story so far.

Episode 2

Qian Ling got another chance to be near Gu Xun  as she had been rehired by HC Games but he only knows her as the snake girl.

Episode 3

Qian Ling was working hard in her drawings.

Meanwhile, Gu Xun was busy recruiting a team for his department which is in competition with Project Department 1, headed by Jiang Shi Yi, the manager of Qian Ling  at HC Games.

Jiang Shi Yi and Gu Xun do not get on as there seemed to be some history between them that is yet to be revealed.

Episode 4

Qian Ling and Gu Xun are still clueless that they each other’s crush, although Gu Xun is beginning to thing that Qian Ling may be Sticky Dough Twist.

It was New Year’s Eve countdown, they were both looking at the firework display when they spotted each other.

Episode 5

Both Gu Xun and Qian Liang had to make up for PE for them to graduate.  They became partners for the dragon dance.

As advised to her by Campus Hunk, she tried to look like as gentle and naive as she can to capture Gu Xun’s attention as men like these kind of characters in a girl.  So this was what Qian Ling did which rather annoy Gu Xun as she appears like an airhead.  He likes strong women or woman like Sticky Dough.

Campus Hunk advised Sticky Dough to confess to her crush so that she won’t have any regret in the future.

Qian Liang applied to join 9th Business Unit but was turned down by Gu Xun because she was late submitting her design for just a few minutes, though through no fault of her own.  Her internet was sabotaged.

Gu Xun humiliated without any thought that she might get upset.  Still she persevered to get him to like her.

Episode 6

It seemed it might work but then during graduation day, he overheard her telling another girl that she did not really like Gu Xun at all.  She was just pretending because of work.

What Gu Xun did not know was that Qian Liang was trying to discourage the other girl from confessing to Gu Xun.  Because she will confess to him herself; she will follow Campus Hunk’s advice.

Episode 7

Qian Liang decided to confess as advised by Campus Hunk, afterall, it is graduation day.  She went to Gu Xun.  She bravely told him that she had always like him.

Right that moment, Gu Xun got a message that Sticky Dough was online. To cut a long story on this matter, Qian Liang lent her ID gaming account to her cousin who will also confess to someone else.

Anyway, Gu Xun looked Qian Liang straight in the eyes with his microphone on as he was about to give a speech, so everyone heard how nasty he was in turning down Qian Liang, the belle of the school.

I don’t like you. Not now. Not ever. You are just not my type.

Poor Qian Ling.  She was not only turned down but humiliated as well. Qian Liang was catatonic with shock.

Gu Xun saw her and felt a little guilty when she went walking in the rain.

The incident made her finally give up on Gu Xun but the experience changed her as noticed by her esport team.  She was fearlessly suicidal player suddenly.

They asked her what happened so she confessed that she was rejected by her crush that morning.

Campus Hunk could hardly hide his joy because it meant he still has a chance with Sticky Dough.

But then Sticky Dough made a big revelation.  Her crush was Gu Xun, giving her team mates the name of her university.

They were all shocked, especially Gu Xun.  He unknowingly rejected Sticky Dough, his crush in the most embarassing way.

Episode 8

Chen Xin Yi who was such an introverted girl was hired a secretary to Jiang Jun Nan.  She was finding it hard to assimilate to her colleagues because of her extreme shyness.  She was really stressed because she can’t really do her job which entails talking to people.

Jiang Jun Nan later found that she was ready with a resignation letter.

Gu Xun found out that Qian Ling is his new neighbour.  She is now a different girl.  Really feisty and no longer the girl who used to chase him.

Jiang Jun Nan noticed how aggressive Qian Ling had become but Gu Xun, she had become more attractive.

He was now trying to chase her but she was not giving him the time of day.

But then he had a little bit of distraction at work.  A drawing of Hero’s Path had been leaked so Gu Xun fired the illustrator who showed the drawing to his university friends.

Gu Xun and Jiang Jun Nan had to look for an illustrator for Lin Zhi, the character in Hero’s Path.

Jiang Jun Nan got excited when he found an artist named Sleep Till Wake who was good at drawing.

Jiang Jun Nan and Gu Xun found her at the Domination Arcade.

Finally, Qian Ling found out that Gu Xun is Campus Hunk.  She went mental and would not listen to Gu Xun’s explanation.

He tried everything including jumping from a great height when she told him that that might be a way for him to show how serious he was at asking for forgiveness. But she stopped him in the end when he was about to jump.

Gu Xun said that he did tell her that he was Campus Hunk but she laughed it off.  Qian Ling suddenly remember the incident on the lift when he did tell her.

Anyway, he is really trying to get her to forgive him but it does not help as well that he was so jealous of any man who approaches her.

Episode 13

Qian Ling continues to give Gu Xun the cold shoulder.  This only made Gu Xun to be a little keener.  He knocked on Qian Ling’s door but got a shock when Chen Xin Yi answered the door.

Chen Xin Yi was as surprised to find the boss looking for Qian Ling at ther apartment.

Later, Qian Ling told Xin Yi that Gu Xun is her neighbour who lives on the opposite apartment.

Xinyi proved to be the ideal housemate because she cleaned and organised Qian Ling’s room without being asked.  But Xinyi found a hidden framed drawing of Guxun’s face inside Qian Ling’s wardrobe cabinet.  Xinyi put two and two together that Qian Ling and Guxun are into each other despite Qian Ling in denial.  She then decided to help them get together.

So when Gu Xun took Qian Ling to Being for an emergency meeting with a popular martial artist to be the face of Hero’s Path Lin Zhi, Xinyi upgraded Qian Ling’s economy seat to business class so she is nearer Gu Xun using her own airmiles.

Guxun reinbursed her later and was suitably grateful.

Working in two competing department is putting Qian Ling between two rocks.  She was being made to choose by Jiang Yi Shi where her loyalty lioes.

I must say I can’t dislike Jiang Yi Shi because he has so much charisma.

Episode 14

Qian Ling was being encouraged by Gu Xun to transfer full time at 9th Business Unit but she refused because she had just been promoted as Leader for Love Broker.

Gu Xun smirked and made a bet with her that she would transfer to his department sooner and later.

They are getting really touchy feely as witnessed by Qian Ling’s mother who had come to visit.

Guxun apply his charm offensive and his future mother-in-law was all for nurturing a love relationship between the two young adults.

Before she left, she asked Gu Xun to look after Qian Ling well.  Gu Xun could not be happier to comply.

And good thing too because there seemed to be a stalker after Qian Ling.

Episode 15

Gu Xun is realising that everyone seems to love Qian Ling.  He was jealous of Tang Xin for being Qian Ling’s childhood sweetheart.

There was also Su Feng who was about to confess to Qian Ling so what else can Gu Xun do but  to sabotage the confession time.

Then there was the stalker who turned out to be the security guard within the apartment complex.  Gu Xun managed to catch him in the act as he sneaked into Qian Ling’s apartment thinking that Gu Xun had gone on a business trip as they wanted him to believe.

Episode 16

Qian Ling had finally allowed by Jiang Yi Shi to leave Project Department No 1 (?) and move fully at 9th Business Unit.

Gu Xun was happy about it but at the same time unhappy that Su Feng was way into Qian Ling.

That night, Qian Ling locked herself out of her apartment as her digital key lock had run out of battery.  So she had to stay at Gu Xun’s apartment for the night.  They had a movie night where he tried it on with her but Qian Ling was playing it cool.

Episode 17

It turned out the mothers of Qian Ling and Gu Xun were classmates.  They tried to set Qian Ling and Gu Xun on a blinddate.

Qian Ling guessed that it was Gu Xun she was going to meet but Gu Xun did not.

Qian Ling was rather excited about the date so she dolled up and went to the theatre for the date.  The it got late and Gu Xun was no show.  She called her mother to check that it was really Gu Xun she was meeting.  Her mother told her to give Gu Xun more time as he will surely be there.

He left it at the last minute to go find her because he seriously did not know that she was the arranged blinddate.  He only found out when he saw the post-it note reminder on her computer where she was going. He hurried but  he did get caught in the traffic.

He was so sorry especially when he later saw a downcasted Qian Ling coming home.

He apologised profusely but she just blanked him.  He suddenly remembered how humiliated she was when he rejected her confession in front of everyone during graduation day.  He promised himself that he will never make her feel bad again.

Qian Ling tried to be braved and nonchalant but her apartment door was playing up again.  She was so furious she had to ask Gu Xun to bring her his tool box.  She then started hammering the lock until the locksmith turned up.

She was told that the door lock was fixed.  But when she tried it out to throw out Gu Xun who was inside her apartment, the door was still playing up so Gu Xun had to spend the night in her apartment as the locksmith refused to return until the morning.

Anyway, moving on.. at work Gu Xun was overworked and over stressed because he had to beg the investors to give him another five days to complete the promo of Hero’s Path.

Episode 18

Not long now to the end.  Despite the many sweet moments between Gu Xun and Qian Ling, it is always Qian Ling who seemed to be doing the real chasing.

After a successful launch or promo during expo of Hero’s Path, Gu Xun felt hyped up and asked Jiang Jun Nan to prepare the apartment as a romantic place to propose to Qian Ling.

Unfortunately, Su Feng got in their first an proposed.

Gu Xun saw Qian Ling looking happy with Su Feng so he gave up on his plan to confess.

So it was left to Qian Ling once again to make Gu Xun realised that he was her one true love.

Meanwhile, Jun Nan started to see Xinyi in a different light.  She is cute.

Episode 19

Finally, it happened… the confession and it was hijacked by the cute kids in the background.

The script had rather gone stale, too meandering and kept the confession scene postponed so many times and when it finally happened, it was really a none event. Boring.

I am keeping with this drama because it is a shame to drop it now as it is almost over and the leads are cute.

Youku markets this drama as ‘She fell first but he fell harder’.  I don’t really see this though as every sodding time, Qian Ling was the one who was really running after Gu Xun.

The confession she was expecting did not happen because Gu Xun prioritised his work again.  He could not even spare her five minutes to get the confession over and done with and put her out of her misery. 🤣🤣🤣

Anyway, he left her waiting for the confession but he told her that he had to leave for the office as they are in big trouble. A compnay lodged a complaint that Hero’s Path plagiarised their game, or at least Gu Xun’s father sold the rights to a triple A game to the company.

Guxun had three days to investigate and so he left town without really making Qian Ling know where he was going.  The poor girl worried and when she found out that he was in his hometown, she took the overnight fast train to go to him.

He said he could not call her because his phone was out of power and yet he had his earbuds on when she finally found him.

She pretended to be upset all of 5 seconds and then made up because he finally confessed that he  already had a crush on her starting when he was Campus Hunk.  She was his first love.

Anyway, Qian Ling stated the obvious that she likes him too and he was her first love as well.

Now, they had to find evidence that Gu Xun’s long dead father did not sell the copyright to his triple A game.  They found his laptop to begin with.

Episode 20

Qian Ling and Gu Xun managed to find th copyright of the NPC which was put under Gu Xun’s name by his father.

So the plagiarism malarkey is over.

Now that Qian Ling and Gu Xun are official, Gu Xun found it frustrating that Qian Ling wanted to keep their relationship a secret when he wanted was to be just like any young lovers.

Episode 21

Gu Xun was finding it hard to hide the fact that Qian Ling is now his girlfriend so their colleagues started to notice.

His mother, Gu Yun Ping, visited Gu Xun at home but found an underdressed Qian Ling instead.

Gu Yun Ping was quite excited about the beautiful Qian Ling but then she became furious when she found out that Gu Xun was working as a games developer just like his father.  Gu Yun Ping gave Gu Xun an ultimatum, either resign from his job immediately or he is no longer her son.

Meanwhile, Xinyi drunkenly confessed to Jiang Jun Nan that she likes him.  This freaked out Jun Nan who left her alone at a restaurant.

He went to find Gu Xun to talk about it but Qian Ling was there as well.  Qian Ling scolded him for treating Xinyi abominably.

Jun Nan started to see Xinyi under a different light which was affecting his common sense.

Episode 22

This drama has really gone downhill.  Why did both Qian Ling and Xinyi turned into brainless bimbos?

Why did the scriptwriter create a scenario where is really would not go anywhere?!!!  Is this a filler so this drama could stretch to 24 episodes?!!!

Anyway, HC Games investors were planning to sell the Hero’s Path to Walter Games.  Gu Xun knew that he can’t really do anything about it so he went to make a deal with Walter Games which somehow made both Qian Ling and Xinyi demented with unfounded rage.
