1001: Nature of Friendship

Friendship is one relationship that when nurtured will last a lifetime. This type of relationship is so special that it has been studied again and again by sociologist, scientists, psychologists and anyone else who really have the time to find out.

Tv shows have also been made of this form of attachment. In fact one of my most favourite tv shows, which I think is above the rest of most comedy shows is called Friends. It was such a good show that it lasted for several series/season and left such a fond and nostalgic memories to viewers and fans.  Even the heiress, Paris Hilton was inspired to look for a BFF in front of the camera: the surest way to not find a lifelong friends.

Apparently the start to a beautiful friendship is a smile.  If you catch someone else’s eyes, give them a smile.  It is hard to ignore a smile freely given. 🙂

But what is friendship? Why do we need friends? When do we not need a friend? What makes a friend?

St Augustine might have been the one to start the fashion of writing autobiographies.  He began it in the latter part of the 4th century when he was in his forties.  The autobiography which he called Confessions was made up of 13 books.  It talked about his wanton life as a lustful young man.
