The Philippine Dining Table
We had a sumptous dinner for Peter’s birthday whilst in the Philippines.
We had dinugoan, which is made with pork and some offals cooked in pig’s blood. We also have sisig, which was topped with cheese, again delicious. We had menudo, we had aubergine with bagoong, we had mechado, we had fried daing. These delicious food were bought from our local turo-turo which is located just a few doors away from where my mother lives.
We had a great time after we had such a hectic time getting to know the new Manila once again. We were absolutely knackered with the amount of walking and shopping we did, we could not raise up enough energy to go out to dinner.
Thank God for turo-turo and it cost so little too. In most restaurants a serving of a dish would normally cost no lesser than 300 pesos but with the turo-turo a serving is about 20 pesos. So we just bought everything that was on offer and they were so delicious.
The birthday boy was certainly impressed and so happy.
It was truly delicious especially shared with families and friend with lots of laughter and joyous conversation.
