Episode 1

The first episode is really interesting, a slice of life kind of drama.

Anyway, Ma Jia is a brilliant surgeon who is very competitive.  He aspires to be the director of the cardiothoracic Department as soon as possible.

As he is indeed one of the best, the role was more or less in the bag.  He was so excited about it and went to find his wife to tell her the good news as it also happened to be their wedding anniversary.

His wife Liu Xiaoxian for for a news agency and that moment was not a good frame of mind as her news project who she worked really hard with her team almost day and night was suddenly cancelled just before it aired.

So when Ma Jia called to tell her that he was outside and will wait for her, she did not really give it much thought.

She went home and was already in bed when her furious husband came home to tell her that he had waited hours for her outside her building.

She admitted that she saw his message but thought he was waiting for her at home.

Ma Jia asked her why she did not call him when she did not find him at home.

Xiaoxian told him that she was not well and to stop trying to pick a fight.

Ma Jia threw his gift at the bed and reminded her that it was their anniversary.

Anyway, they did make up in the end.

Two and a half weeks later, Ma Jia’s mentor Director Liang told him of the bad news.  He did not get the post to head the department.  Instead it was given to Jiang Da Qiao who just came back from Africa.

Ma Jia went mental and reminded Director Liang who far superior he was compared to Jiang Da Qiao.

Director Liang told Ma Jia that it was out of his hand.  The decision to give the post to Dr Jiang was up to the committee.

Dr Jiang’s first thing he did was to wait for his beloved 15 year old daughter from her school.  They were both very happy to see each other.

Jiang Yao told her father that her mother who Dr Jiang was divorced from has a new boyfriend.  Jiang Yao asked if she could live with her father.

Dr Jiang was all for it and gave her the news that he was to stay for good to be near her.
