Episode 1 Truth & Justice only by the Law
“Is the truth truly righteous?”
It started with a mock court case about euthanasia at the Hankuk University of Law. There was a break of half an hour and when it was over Professor Seo was still away.
A student playing the security guard was asked to look for the professor and when she found him, he was foaming in the mouth and looked dead.
Her scream brought the court to a complete halt.
The student remained at the court, then in walked Prosecutor Yang who saw the forensic already busy at work.
The police found something in Professor Seo’s pocket which looked like a suicide note which Prosecutor Yang ignored as it looked like Prof Seo had been murdered.
Whoa, interesting. Loving this drama already.
My only gripe with this drama was that it has to be paused almost sequence after sequence to make sense of the subtitle. And you will need to understand it because the topics are really contemporary issues and really riveting.
Like, when Prosecutor Yang, who is also a professor asked his student about a scenerio when a woman and her lover had consensual sex videoed and then the woman broke up the relationship, the lover filmed the video of the tape and then sent it to the woman’s husband, the lover was tried in court and found him guilty on the first and second trial but when the case reached the Supreme Court he was acquitted.
Prof Yang wanted to know why?
No one of the students was willing to answer the question.
It was left to Han Joon Hwi to give an answer.
Apparently, it is unlawful to directly film a body but if you film the body on a film, that is another matter. This is like kissing someone and kissing the photo of that someone. They are different. How interesting.
But as I say, they do talk too fast and you could hardly keep up with the sub.
It was found that Han Joon Hwi was rather advanced amongst his peers because he had completed the second round of judicial exams.
I am so glad to see Kim Bum again.
Professor Yang is called the Yangcrates of Justice because he was a terror professor.
Kong Sol A was interrogated by the professor to get her to reveal whether she knew the true meaning of bribery. But the questioning got the better of her and ended with her almost vomiting in class.
Despite his teaching method, his students were like captive scared rabbits and like the adrenalin rush.
It looks like Professor Seo was involved in a bribery case but the court found him not guilty. It involved a very huge sum of money. Professor Yang was the prosecuting lawyer and he lost and because of it he resigned and became a professor.
Professor Yang got more interesting because he actually wears an electronic tag on his ankle. What? Why?
Then this episode ended with Professor Yang being arrested for the murder of Prof Seo.
Han Joo Hwi was heartbroken to learn that Prof Seo tested positive for drug addiction. The prof was his uncle.
Love it. Looking forward to the next episode tomorrow.
Episode 2
The episode started with a flashback of how Kang Sol A first met Prosecutor Yang. Kang Sol A hit a bully who had been targeting her sister.
It was unfortunate for her that the bully was the daughter of a chief prosecutor.
During the meeting with Prosecutor Yang, she was asked if she would rather pay damages or go to a juvenile. Kang Sol A said that she would not apologise to someone who had been bullying her sister.
The chief prosecutor turned up and told Prosecutor Yang to send the delinquent girl to prison after Kang Sol A refused to apologised.
Prosecutor Yang said that it looked like it was the Chief Prosecutor’s daughter who needed to apologise.
The chief prosecutor was livid.
There are some shockers in this episode.
Apparently, Professor Seo was the hit-and-run driver of Prosecutor Yang. Professor Seo hired Lee Man Ho who raped a little girl.
After Lee Man Ho got out of prison he blackmailed Professor Seo into hiring him as his driver. Lee Man Ho saw and remember the car number plate of the hit and run driver.
Professor Yang who is an obsessive jigsaw puzzler solved the murder of Professor Seo. He said that the real killer who pushed the professor from the stair was Han Joon Hwi. An evidence was left on the stairs, one of Prof Seo’s glasses’ nose pads was still on the stairs. The glasses were then changed by someone.
Was Prof Yang right? More revelation next weak.
Episode 3
Poor Joon Hwi was ostracised because his school thought he killed his own uncle for his inheritance.
Meanwhile, Professor Kang was stabbed while showering in prison. His assailant was someone he sent to prison as a prosecutor.
Professor Kang has a rare blood type and would die imminently if he doesn’t get a blood transfusion.
It so happened that the person who could donate blood to him was Lee Man Ho.
Joon Hwi, however, told him not to give his blood to Professor Kang.
