Episode 1

This drama is a reunion of Hu Yi Tian with Leon Zhang from their earlier collaboration, My Roommate is a Detective.

Although this is the same era or time frame, this is an altogether different drama with the male leads playing different characters.

A guy shot dead a man at point-blank range at the train station.  The man was Ma Shi Ying, who was caught and even confessed to the shooting.

During the trial, Ma Shi Ying just smirked all the way through despite the evidence being stacked against him.

The reason was that he had acquired Russian citizenship so he had immunity.

Situ Yan, the prosecutor was so annoyed and went against the judge saying that even if the man was now Russian, he still killed a Chinese in China.

Situyan was frogmarched for contempt of court.  His friend begged him to apologise because he would be throwing his career if he refuses.

Si Tu Yan absolutely refused instead he said he will go to Harbin to answer the call of their former professor who was planning to create a new system of judiciary or something.

On the way to the train station, Situyan and his friend stopped for breakfast.  They overheard a couple of police guards being dismissive of Situyan.

Luo Shao Chuan told him younger comrade to not hire Situyan to defend him if he gets into trouble.

Situyan was so annoyed and would have confronted Luo Shan Chuan if his friend did not stop him and calm him down.

The next time Situyan saw police guard was when Luo Shan Chuan had his hand on the throat of another police guard for stealing the gun of an officer.

Situyan intervened and by looking at the evidence whch was a button, he immediately pinpointed the real culprit.  It was a food vendor.

Luo Shao Chuan was so impressed with Situyan, he insisted that Situyan ride in the first class compartment of the Orient Express.

Episode 2

What do you know?

Ma Shi YIng was one of the passengers and he ended up dead.

Luo Shao Chuan was so worried for Situyan.  Instead of arresting him for suspicion of murder, he tried to give Situyan all the money he has and told him to jump off the window and go,

Situyan told him that he did not do the murder.

He then started his investigation.

Episode 3

This is a total makjang story because it turned out that the whole passengers’ list of the first class compartment and the conductor were all working on revenge mode against Ma Shi Ying who raped a woman and then murdered her.  He also killed the young daughter of the woman.

Ma Shi Yang had 9 stab wounds which were done by the 9 vengeful individuals who were somehow involved with the dead kindly Mrs Xu.

This drama is supposed to be based on Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple and Monsieur Poirot characters.  Though this Chinese version is enjoyable and interesting it is in no way as good as the Western version.
