Episode 1
Li Xia works for a games company. She was absolutely devoted to her handsome boss and happily agreed to be the first tester for their prototype virtual reality game about an Emperor falling in love.
Li Xia could not wait to do it to impress and hopefully her one-sided love would be reciprocated by her boss. But she overheard him telling one of her colleagues that he was aware that she was so in love with him but any relationship between them was never going to happen. He was much too good for a plain and common girl like her.
Li Xia was crashed. But still she said that she was still willing to go ahead and be the first one to try the game.
She was so annoyed that she decided that she was going to show them that there is more to her than meets the eye. She chose the maid’s role in the game and its hardest setting.
Li Xia ‘woke’ up like a Cinderella to three mean sisters. They told her to mop the floor over and over. And their boss lady was mean as well.
Li Xia saw her image in the mirror. If she was plain before, she was even plainer now and to cap it up, she has a large red birthmark located between her eyebrow and to the top of her left cheek. Because it was read and protruding, it looks like it was inflame.
Li Xia began to regret choosing the hardest setting so she started searching for the menu/reset button which she found in the middle of the pond.
She jumped into the pond, which was witnessed by the Emperor who was incognito as a guard. He jumped after her to the rescue.
Li Xia was so annoyed. She told him so and tried to jump again but the Emperor would not let her go. She just saw the reset menu fading away. She was concerned that it may never come back, ergo, she is trapped in this timeline.
Episode 2
The Princess Consort was so annoyed with Li Xia because she upturned the chamber pot spilling wee wees everywhere. She was told that the Prince was actually outside about to enter the chamber for a bit of hanky panky, instead, he left in disgust from the stench emanating from his consort’s room.
The Princess consort had been married for a year but had not seen any real bed action yet. So the princess took all her frustration of Li Xia and wanted to have her gone. Her solution was to marry off Li Xia to an aging Eunuch Yu.
Thinking that she had to get out of the game, Li Xia jumped into the pond again and would have died if the Prince, pretending to be eunuch once again did not save her.
Over the other side, Li Xia’s boss refused to unplug the machine at whatever cost, including the possibility of Li Xia becoming brain damaged. He said that he cannot afford to stop the machine while it is being tested because it would show in its log that it was faulty. This would not sit well with their investors.
Anyway, Li Xia talked with the prince over toasted buns. She told him about her woes and he said that killing oneself is not the answer.
The next morning, the horrid Eunuch Yu had come to collect his new bride – Lixia.
Episode 3
Eunuch Yu was determined to take Li Xia away but there was a last minute reprieve from the emperor. He just issued at dictum that it was illegal to marry off maids to eunuchs. So Li Xia was saved.
The Emperor enjoys his time with Li Xia so much because she feeds him well and actually can sleep when she is around. He asked Li Xia to make their meeting a nightly ritual.
While they were sleeping, the emperor covered her with his limited edition damask cloak, which takes 3 months to weave and sew.
When Li Xia tried to return it, he would not have as he noticed that she looks cold.
Seeing that it was expensive, Li Xia hid it where she thought was the safest place, amongst the firewoods.
Li Xia saw General Xie and the Consort Yue in a rather compromising position when she entered the consort’s quarters without knocking.
She noticed the General Xie was Fang Bo in the modern world’s doppelganger.
Consort Yue was so upset that she did not get her shag from the general so she punished Li Xia by branding her as a thief of her emerald pendant. As they can’t find the pendant at LI Xia’s bed where they hid it themselves, they search the place more and found the damask cloak instead.
They interrogated about the cloak but she refused to implicated the lovely sensitive eunuch (emperor) so she said she stole it herself.
She was beaten for it and would have been to death in General Xie did not show up and stopped the beating.
It turned out that General Xie was the emperor’s older brother.
Anyway it was the day of reading the heaven’s glory. The emperor had to shed blood into a bowl of water where a parchment was being soaked.
The blood made the parchment reveal the destiny of the emperor. It said that someone called Li Xia will be very important to him and will save his life. And also the emperor will enjoy three destinies with Li Xia.
It was only midday but the emperor was raring to meet the girl.
Then when he did meet her again, she was in pain and she confessed that she was beaten by the order of consort Xu due to the damask cloak they found in her lodging.
She told the emperor that she did not tell them that she got it from him but he had to promise not to steal again.
She then asked him if he can look around the palace for some abnormal place where there is a Exit Saving button.
He promised he would.
Despite their friendship. he did not know he name. He asked her curiously and then she said her name was Li Xia as she was leaving.
