Plot Summary
The start is very interesting. Deception already.
Feng Jing Chen and Jiang Zhiyu are childhood sweethearts.
They parted for a while after Zhiyu went to study abroad.
When she returned, they started the procedure of getting married.
Unfortunately, it was not as easy as they had to follow the Feng Family tradition.
Any union had to be approved by an oracle. Jing Chen had to draw a fortune stick which determine whether his marriage to Jiang Zhiyu is auspicious or not.
The first year, it was a no. Jing Chen who was beaten up for opting to continue a relationship with Zhiyu.
Second year, it was another no and Jing Chen bear another bout of punishment.
Third year, it was another no, again Jing Chen was caned almost to death.
On the fourth year, Zhiyu arrived early at the Feng’s ancestral hall and witness Jing Chen drawing a propitious stick. She was so happy as at long last they could be married. But she heard Jing Chen’s assistant asking if he would finally marry Zhiyu, afterall Jing Chen had been drawing the lucky stick since the beginning.
Jingchen said that he can’t marry Zhiyu yet because he has another woman, Su Yunwei, on the side which he does not love but he can’t leave prepromptorily as the woman had been with him loyally while Zhiyu was away. He added that Zhiyu would wait for him no matter how long.
Zhiyu was shocked. She got a call from her mother who asked if Zhiyu can finally marry Jingchen otherwise she had someone ideal for Zhiyu to marry.
Zhiyu agreed to the marriage to be arranged by her mother.
