Doll Collection

Doll Collection

Doll collecting is rather a common hobby.  I myself have a few dolls collected over the years, mostly given to me by my hubby.

I once told my husband that I used to have a doll until I was thirteen years old.  As we used to live on a farm which was remote from department stores, except local sari sari shops that only sell convenience goods,  I had to make do with a doll that had lost one of her arms.  Despite her disability, I loved my dolly. 🙂 I used to make her clothes and really had fun with her. My sister and I would happily create clothes for our respective dolls.

Anyway, my husband was so moved by my story, lol, that he started gifting me dolls until I have more than I could wish for.  A vast number of my doll collection is in our loft.

As much as I love dolls I don’t think I could sleep in a bedroom full of them; all eyes staring at me at the dead of night.  I would find it just too spooky.

Did you know?

There is actually a phobia of dolls.  It called pediophobia which comes from two Greek words: pedo meaning child and phobia, of course, is fear.
