I love the first episode. It is very well acted. Lei Xu’s awkwardness in a strange place was so real.
Anyway, Lei Xu is a very competent public prosecutor. He wants to do the cases as soon as possible.
There was a case when he needed to investigate but unfortunately the policeman that should have gone with him was caught in a traffic. Rather than wait for him, Lei Xu proceeded with the investigation alone.
It was unfortunate that the suspect ended up jumping to his death from a building. This was the Zong Youling case.
So to minimise impact of what happened to the press, he was quickly transferred to a juvenile court out of town.
The transfer was rather lamentable because the place he was being sent to was just set up by a very capable Du Zi Yu who had been in the in Beinan (?) for 11 years. She was actually made to hope that she will be the new director and they were just waiting for the official announcement.
She was disappointed to hear that she was going to remain as a deputy director while a new guy, who is more experienced will be the new director.
It was Lei Xu of course.
When Lei Xu turned up in the office, no one was around except for Chief Chen who told him that the four women he was going to be working with were all in court.
Chief Chen arranged for a meet up dinner for the new team. The women were polite to Lei Xu and he was with them as well. He even drank the raw coconut juice despite being allergic to it.
Yeah, loving the atmosphere of this drama.
Episode 2
Totally recommend this drama. It has a heart.
Anyway, Lei Xu is struggling to assimilate with his team at Division 9 because the women were excluding him from the cases at hand.
Yang Tian felt a little sorry for him so she encouraged him to perhaps visit an old case Linghua School, a private school headed by a foreign headmaster.
The headmaster would not see him but Lei Xu is experienced and pretended that he was a maintenance guy. This enable him to enter the office of the headmaster who talked in English to his secretary assuming that Lei Xu would not understand.
Anyway, back at Division 9, he was met by Liu Liu who told him that there is a job that he can only do. He was glad at first but then he found out that it was for an interview about their cases which knows nothing about as the women had been protective of their individual cases and had not told him progress about them.
The women insisted that he does the interview. The interview happened but the women especially Du realised that they had gone too far in setting him up.
The case in the background as a girl who was under pressure at home to study well. Her mother works in the parmacheutical business and would tell Xiaofei to take her medicine/vitamins instead of food sometimes.
Being able to get hold of pills and tablet, she forced fed a classmate she thought was grassing on her.
Episode 3
Lei Xu really had had enough and told them so. He blamed Du for being vindictive because she did not get the director’s job. He said to them that anyone of them could have done the interview but instead they insisted that he did it.
He managed to give them a piece of his mind but then he found out that it was really Chief Chen who invited the interviewer especially to interview Lei Xu to promote their Division 9. So Lei Xu ended up apologising to the women. They were quite ok about it.
Later on, Du followed him to his car. It then came out that they used to be in a relationship ten years ago but he just disappeared without even saying goodbye.
Lei Xu can’t really say anything about it but apologise. He then asked her to dinner but she told him that she was rather busy.
Lei Xu invited the other women in the team and took them to a club. It was really about work. Lei Xu found out somehow that underage girls were allowed in the club. He contacted the police and the place was raided. He then ask Liu Liu to go to an internet cafe with him. Again, he found a secret room at the back of the gaming room where children were playing game. Again he had it raided and had the place closed down.
Instead of getting a commendation for the two successful raids, Chief Chen scolded Lei Xu for not prepping everyone before each raid. Chief Chen said that police have already been keeping an eye on the club but now Lei Xu scuppered all their work.
Episode 4
Lei Xu became the safety coucillor for Luyang Middle School. He did a captivating presentation with Xu Chang Li about keeping oneself safe.
Xiaofei asked if one is unable to shout for help, call the police, use pepper spray or run, what should one do.
Lei Xu said that all one can do is try to survive. Life is long and one would meet ups and downs through the course of life.
Xiaofei later called Lei Xu.
Lei Xu made a mistake of going alone to meet Xiaofei. Xiaofei confessed that she was raped. Lei Xu managed to convince her to report the incident to the police, only then that he could really help her.
Xiaofei finally agreed and said that she was going to ask the teacher for leave.
Lei Xu with Chang Li waited for her outside but she never showed.
Now they have a missing girl.
Meanwhile, many people are interested with Lei Xu. The wife of the man who jumped to his death wanted Lei Su dead and did her brother who own the E-Sport centre Lei Xu raided and shut down.
