Patrick Jane & Teresa Lisbon

heartThe Kiss

Jane and Lisbon

sitting in a tree,
K-I-S-S-I-N-G.
First comes love,
then comes marriage,
then comes baby
in a baby carriage!

That’s not it!
That’s not all!
The baby’s drinking alcohol!

Omigod! It happened! It finally happened.

The will they, won’t they scenario between Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon has been there since day one of the crime series, The Mentalist.

The sexual tension has always been apparent.  But their relationship is deeper.  They really care for each other ;  Patrick Jane is like a little boy bounding from one accident/disaster after another and Teresa Lisbon is always been there to bail him out.

They have tender moments together but most of the time, Teresa treats Jane with a bit of exasperation because of his boyish exhuberance and penchant for trouble.

During the 6th season, where Jane seemed to be attracted to a mysterious woman while he was AWOL in some South American country, it felt wrong.  Jane and Lisbon go together.

And then finally Teresa had decided that she wanted someone in her life and started dating and getting serious with Agent Pike, again this was not right.  Teresa should be with Jane.

It was so sad that Teresa was to all intent and purposes was ready to to move on, get married and settle down with Agent Pike in Washington DC.

I can’t help but shout a little to Patrick Jane via our innocent television to stop Teresa from leaving.

Lo and behold! Jane heard me and like all romantic films, it was suspenseful.  Teresa had a wistful look as she checked in for her flight.  Unbeknown to her Jane was on his way but was late.  It was all too late, methink!

But no, Jane climbed over a wire fence and hurt his ankle in the process and yet he limped and beg to be let it to someone on the other side of the already closed doors of the airplane.

He found Teresa and this was when it got really romantic; the moment we have all been waiting for.

Jane said “That truth, Teresa, is that I cannot imagine waking up Knowing I won’t see you. The truth is I love you.”

Teresa tearfully said that it was too late.  At this point Jane was carted off the plane by security.

The next scene was that Jane was under arrest for invasion of the plane.  Teresa entered and I went all mushy.

She asked him to tell her again what he said in the plane.  Jane reached out and there was that kiss…

At last!

Can’t wait for the new series!!! Waiting with bated breath!

Grace & Wayne, The Wedding in The Mentalist

Wedding in RedLove freely given has no beginning or end.

It is so cute, it was from the wedding ceremony of  Wayne Rigsby and Grace Van Pelt, detectives in The Mentalist.

They’ve always had such a wonderful chemistry.  From the beginning you knew they were meant for each other but things happened, people happened and work interfered.

I must admit when the wedding registrar asked them to repeat after her the solemn wedding vow about till death do us part, I told Peter (my very own hubby), that one of the couple was going to die.  Peter sort of agreed.

It is some sort of formula for tv series, hardly ever that there is a happy ending.

It was so romantic in the end especially when they got out of the registry office to a horse-drawn carriage waiting for them on a beautiful bright summer’s day. Civil war battle re-enactment  guards where dutifully lined up and did a complimentary gun salute in honour of the bride and groom.  It was a bit touch and go there for a moment, I kept waiting that there would be  something that would go horribly wrong, that the guards had been infiltrated by Red John and that Grace or Wayne would be gunned down or the horses would be spooked and bolted and end up kicking Rigsby or Grace to death. LOL

But it was very smooth sailing all through out.  Quite wonderful really.  A very romantic moment during a particularly fraught and tense episode.

But WHO IS RED JOHN?!  It was rumoured that we are going to finally find out who he is in the next few episodes.  I supposed as much as he is the perfect nemesis to Patrick Jane, (his Moriarty to Sherlock Holmes).  Red John continually on the loose is rather ridiculous and defeating the purpose of the whole Mentalist theme.  It has now more than five years since Red John slained Patrick Jane’s wife and daughter and still Patrick is none the wiser who Red John is.

As The Mentalist, Patrick uses his power of observation and deduction to  assist the California  Bureau of Investigation (CBI)

Yes we need to know who Red John is other wise Patrick Jane has failed in his obsessive quest to unmasked Red John despite the bodies piling up.  The clever and charismatic Red John remains in the background pulling the strings.

We have watched the series from inception and enjoyed most of the episodes especially when Red John is involved.  Peter is going to be rather upset if The Mentalist is cancelled, God forbid.  hahaha
