Episode 1

First few minutes and I love them already.  I feel them.

Like going hiking, they were all geared up with walking boots and walking sticks but any excuse to abandon hiking and the three friends concurred immediately in favour of eating instead.  Love it.

Mijo, Chanyoung, and Joohee first met when they were eighteen and remained firm friends ever since and now at 39 they have resigned themselves to never getting married and having babies, and as such, they decided never to attend weddings or anything to do with babies are they reckoned they will never have them.

One thing they agreed to do was to attend funerals.  LOL

Mijo is a dermatologist and she works with her sister who adores her as much as their parents. She was adopted when she was 8 years old.

She is now taking a year-long sabbatical and intends to go to Palm Beach to learn golf.  Her sister was shocked at first because their clinic had just begun to make money.

Mijo said that this was the reason why she was taking a break.  She has already found a substitute for her.

It turned out the substitute was the guy she had a one-night-stand with after a long drought.  He was Kim Seon Woo.

Meanwhile, Jeong Chanyoung has reconnected with her ex-boyfriend Jin Seok.

Mijo was not very happy about this despite Jin Seok being her personal friend and it was through her that Chanyoung had gotten to know Jin Seok.

Chanyoung used to date Jin Seok but he went abroad and had gotten married.

When he came back he was trying to pick up where he left off with Chanyoung.

Mijo kept telling Chanyoung to break up with Jinseok because she is just a mistress; they were having an affair.

Chanyoung said that she was not having an affair because she knew Jin Seok before his wife knew him.

Mijo could not understand her way of thinking but they were best friends.

Chanyoung visited JInseok in his office when his wife turned up.

This seemed to have woken Chanyoung at last when she was left standing by the rain while Jinseok solicitously looked after his wife.

Jang Joo Hee is slightly different from the two.  She is virginal and shy but one drunken night, she wandered into a new Chinese restaurant that was about to open to the public.

Yeah really good.  I love it and can’t wait to watch the next episode.

Episode 2

OMG!  What a shocker of an episode.  Son Ye Jin cried so hard and still remained gorgeous.

Anyway, Mijo was determined to take a year-long break.  Apparently, this was because she was starting to have a panic attack as explained by her sister to their parents.

Mijo has such a lovely family because her adorable father and mother encouraged her to take a break and then insisted that they go with her to America.

Mijo said no, she wanted to be alone but they can’t hear her.🤣🤣🤣

Anyway, Mijo in preparation for going abroad had a full medical examination.  She had Chanyoung and Joo Hee to have one too.

Meanwhile, Seon Woo started working in Mijo’s clinic.  Mijo’s sister was trying to get the two together.

She succeeded because Seon Woo drunkenly confessed to Mijo that he liked her from the moment he saw her in front of a flower shop holding peonies.

Mijo told him that it was just the alcohol talking so she will ignore it.

But the next morning, she came to work and found a vase of beautiful peonies waiting on her desk.

Seon Woo then came in and said that the peonies were part of his confession to her.

Awww it was so cute but it immediately went into a heartbreaking mood when Mijo got a call from the hospital about the result of the medical exam.

Poor Mijo felt as if her world had crumbled.

She went to the hospital to double-check the result.  Her friend had stage 4 brain cancer.

Mijo stayed in her car in front of the hospital for most of the day shellshocked as she felt rudderless.

She then went to Jinseok who was meeting with Seon Woo.

Jinseok was shocked and confused by Mijo’s blabbering and blaming him and herself for her friend’s condition.  He still did not get it.

She collapsed on the floor absolutely heartbroken.

Seon Woo went to her and held her hand.

The next scene was a very sad funeral of Chanyoung.

Episode 3 – 5

OMG. these episodes got so depressing.  It is food for thought though about living with a terminal illness.

Though the funeral of Chanyoung was shown in Episode 2, she was not gone in these episodes yet.  `

Tackling telling friends, loved ones that your days are number is excruciatingly painful.

Anyway, Chanyoung did have an idea that something was not quite right with her, thus, she had the CT scan included in her full medical examination when Mijo arranged it to have with Chanyoung and Joo Hee.

It then fell to Mijo to tell Chanyoung the result of the exam.  She did not know how to break the news to Chanyoung.  It was so stressful for Mijo that it became apparent she was under great pressure as she was her usual calm self.

In fact, Mijo ended up in the police station when she attacked Jinseok’s wife who came to speak to Chanyoung telling her that she was a mistress and keeping away from her husband and making sure that she sever her connection with Jinseok including their business relationship.  She then went on and on that Chanyoung wanted money and shares from Jinseok’s business.  She completely ignored Chanyoung’s response that she does not have a sexual relationship with Jinseok.  So enter Mijo who overheard what going on.

Mijo slapped the wife and when the wife called the police for assault, Mijo slapped her some more so the police visit will be worth it.

At the police station, the wife said that she had instructed her lawyers to sue.

Chanyoung called Jinseok and told him to sort his wife out.

Jinseok did. He warned his wife that ‘He knows everything. He will act on it if she does not drop the assault charge.

Well she did drop the case.  The ‘everything’ was their son.  Jinseok only married his wife because she got pregnant.  He did not realise that he was not the one who made her pregnant.  In the end, he did ask her for a divorce and despite not being the real father of their son, he opted strongly to be the one to get the custody as his wife had no maternal instinct toward their son whatsoever.

Joo Hee won the lottery.  7.7Million won ($6000+).  She did not claim the money, instead, she shredded her ticket and gave her luck to Chanyoung to live longer.

As to Mijo, she canceled her sabbatical to the US instead she will stay and make Changyoung the happiest terminally ill person in the world.
