What Happened to Zhao Lu Si ?

Zhao Lusi

Frenetic work engagement has finally taken its toll on the gorgeous adorable Zhao Lu Si.

However, there is more to this than meets the eye.

Anyway, as days go by, more conspiracy theories are being bandied about and it is getting really alarming.

How can a joyful, vibrant girl of just 26 who has captured global attention ended up in the hospital for still undisclosed malady but sufficed to say that she ended up unable to talk and walk.  How can this have happened?

It all started so well…

Lu Si was still filming The Story of Pearl Girl when Director Deng Ke personally visited her on her filming set.  He talked about a script which he thought suited her to a T.  Deng Ke seemed to be such a likable fellow.

Lusi enter a new drama production, Love Ambition, which was a hit to fans and paparazzi from inception.  By all account, everyday on the drama set was full of joy and jubilation.  Everyone got on.  It was really brimming with goodwill and happiness which was so palpable, it was visible to anyone. Everyone, including us, can’t wait for Love Ambition to be on our screen hopefully next years.

And then she had her 26th birthday.  She had more engagement to promote her many endorsements.

Finally she entered the filming set of Director Deng Ke’s Almost Lover which was already underway shooting scenes of the gorgeous male lead, Peng Guan Ying.

Her appearance on Almost Lover’s filming set was much lauded and anticipated by fans and passersby, both local and international.  It was a joy at first for onlookers to see her in another drama but as the days turns to weeks, Zhao Lusi showed visible signs that everything is not as it should be.  She was losing too much weight that sometimes she had to be held/helped by her bodyguard and assistant.  She became nervy like a frightened fawn.  Where she once welcomed exhuberant show of love and affection from fans, it now rather unnerved her.  She was scared, unsure and yet she would force a smile on her tired face.  Her eyes had lost their natural shine.  She started to look like a lonely figure in the midst of a crowd.  She became a shadow of her former self and this is not an exaggeration!!!

Zhao Lusi always takes a project, whether a drama, an endorsement, a variety show, a gala, wholeheartedly and give it her 100% ALWAYS.

This is the same with Almost Lovers which she prepared herself to completely immerse herself into.  However, what she expected was vastly different from what she had signed for.

The script was revised daily with twenty additional pages to study everyday. Director Deng Ke was often nowhere in sight, leaving another director in his place.  This created so much stress for Zhao Lusi who is known to discuss the flow of the story to make it believable and make sense to viewers.  Despite her many attempts to discuss this issue, she was fobbed off. It was like having a rug pulled from under her.

The meticulous Zhao Lusi was driven to the point of no return resulting in her to be hospitalised.  Some says that at 26 she had a stroke, nerve damage, aphasia.

Her seeking medical help was another contentious issue because despite needing oxygen on 14 December 2024, she continued to be on set until late hours of strenuous filming.

Alleged timeline of what happened:

  • 14 December 2024:  Lusi needed Oxygen
  • 18 December 2024: Lusi wa taken to the Emergency Room for urgent medical treatment. She was suffering from symptoms indicating aphasia, which is the inabilty to talk and walk.
  • 25 December 2024: Rosy Official Fanclub noticed that filming had halted. After consulting the Almost Lover film crew, they were informed that a statement will be issued shortly.
  • 27 December 2024: Due to a leaked photo of Zhao Lusi on a wheelchair in the hospital, it finally became well known that Lusi was ill and had been ailing for 10 days.  Zhao Lusi Studio has temporarily suspended all her work.
  • 28 December: Almost Lover had quietly wrapped up, despite a month-long more worth of filming, sending everyone home.
  • 29 December 2024: #TruthForZhaoLusi started trending on TwitterX  Join the trend.
  • 30 December 2024: An alleged malavolent influential figure/s had been paying some trolls to dissimate that Lusi has depression.  5 Yaun per post and after 20 a day.  They were forcing her to quit the industry all together.
  • 4 August 2025 Update:  Zhao Lusi has said herself that when she was unable to speak and walk, instead of being taken to a hospital, KU her agency locked her up in a hotel room instead and hired an shaman to perform exorcism to cast away evil spirit that had taken over her body.  Got weider and weirder.  Can’t believe this truly happened to the most popular girl from China.

With the consent of #ZhaoLusi, her friend has just revealed a horrifying anecdote on Lusi being physically, verbally and emotionally abused by people in her company since 2019

“I’m truly furious. These are some things I want to reveal as her good friend. Back in 2019, something happened that I’ve been keeping in my heart for a long time….

It wasn’t until I came to Hangzhou and saw her sitting in a wheelchair, looking incredibly frail and thin, that I fully realized the weight of it. Although I wasn’t involved in what happened this time and can’t speak to it, I told her that emotions can’t be bottled up; they need to be expressed and released.

As we talked, we revisited that incident from 2019, and it became clear that she was never truly able to let it go. Since that’s the case, even if it means being criticized or misunderstood, it’s better to speak out.

In April 2019, during a break in her schedule, Lusi was in Beijing auditioning for roles. At the time, she didn’t have a place to stay, so she stayed at my house. During the day, we were both busy with our own work and only occasionally ate and chatted together. But one night, I came home, turned on the light, and found her curled up in the living room in the dark. I asked her what was wrong, and she said, “I don’t know why they hit me. I’m really scared.”

I was shocked.

“Why? There has to be a reason, right?”

She told me about someone who had dragged her into the bathroom and berated her for two hours, saying things like how useless she was, why she couldn’t land a role, and how she should reflect on why she hadn’t been cast as a lead actress before. They criticized her weight and said she wasn’t as good as others, just constantly putting her down. This went on until 2 AM. Finally, because Lusi stayed silent, that person slammed the door and left. Lusi, feeling aggrieved, grabbed her bag and opened the door to leave. It was drizzling outside. That person chased after her, seemingly trying to grab her. We’re not sure whether they intended to slap her or pull her hair and missed, but in any case, she was hit. She was terrified.

Over the years, we’ve talked about this incident many times, and I’ve always felt guilty for not realizing how much it had been weighing on her. Both she and I thought that openly discussing what happened meant she had moved on. Lusi has been doing better and better, so we assumed she wasn’t dwelling on it anymore. But when I found out she still wakes up in terror from nightmares about it, I realized that this issue was far from resolved.

At the time, I asked her when it happened, and she said it was the night before. She had only gotten home to sleep at 5 AM, after a dispute around 4 AM. near the entrance of that residential complex.

Since I had left early in the morning, I didn’t find out about it until I came home that evening. Back then, we were both so young and knew that even if we reported it to the police, we’d need evidence. We were also worried that without evidence, justice might not be served. So, Lusi and I went together to look for surveillance footage. I asked her if she had told her family. She said she didn’t want to. She didn’t want to burn bridges because her contract hadn’t expired yet, and she feared involving her parents would lead to them having to pay compensation, which would make her feel guilty.

For the next few days, she hardly slept. How could she sleep under such circumstances? I ask you, why should someone who hasn’t done anything wrong have to bear such humiliation and injustice? What did she do wrong?

The next day, Lusi was summoned to the company. With just a simple “I’m sorry, I was drunk,” it was brushed aside and ended.

Later, we found out that the first thing this person did in the morning was call Lusi’s mom, saying how disobedient Lusi was. They were clearly planting a seed, trying to make sure that no matter what happened, her mom would “understand”
