Today is World Book Day.
For me personally, it is only right to celebrate books and reading.
Reading books should be encouraged to the fullest. It widens horizon and stimulate thinking and understanding.
My family reads a lot. It is our number one hobby.
Peter reads non-stop. He likes adventure stories, thrillers, sci-fi and some non-fiction ones as well. He reads Lee Child’s Jack Reacher’s series of stories, he was very put out when Tom Cruise was given the role of Jack Reacher in film. He said Cruise is the antithesis of Jack Reacher in the book who was supposed to be 6’4″. It was his height and bulk that makes him stand out which Cruise does not have at only 5’7″

Peter also reads KGB and spy stories as well as ET and aliens. And laps conspiracy theories. He has read all books on Jack the Reaper and John F Kennedy as well as Marilyn Monroe.
I do like to ready fiction now and again but I’ve always preferred reading non-fiction. I love religious books, historical, cook books, and reference books. I remember reading a very thick book on Henry VIII. He was a very interesting character.
Late last year, we had to increase our book shelvings as the amount of our reading materials are increasing exponentially. We do want to keep most of our reference books and our favourite fiction ones for posterity.
