Still Life Comes to Life – Photo Journey

Nowadays, it is seldom to see Peter without a camera hanging over his neck.  He has really taken photography into another level.  Mind you, since I first knew him more than 28 years ago, he was already into taking pictures.  He even won some awards for some of his pictures.  When he was younger, he was even asked to photograph a wedding but he turned it down not because of perceived limitation in his craft but the stress that might bring from the subjects.  You see Peter takes his time to get the right angle.  He wants to frame the subject just perfectly.  I have to admit, that he likes taking my photos which I am not sure I like.  I had to keep a smile for a minute or two and that is hard.  But I have to admit, he can actually make me prettier that I truly am. 😉

When our son was a baby, he can rival the most photographed baby celebrities in the world.  James’s every waking moment was documented.  This can be evidenced by the chest after chest after chest of drawers of photograph of our adored baby.  Photos of his first smile, first grin, first hair cut and tuft of hair, first tooth, first sat down, first step,  first everything.  Peter also photographed the second smile, etc.  He also photographed the third, the fourth, the fifth until James said enough is enough! hahaha  We still have a drawerful of undeveloped camera films still lying about.  It would have been useful and a lot cheaper if there was an SD card before!

Since Peter takes his time using his camera to make things come to life in still photos, I have decided to join him in his hobby.  I too have taken the camera but not as carefully and meticulously as Peter.  I am more the point and shoot type of photo recorder.  I am proud of my work but have to admit that Peter’s are way better.  I actually like his photos more but do not tell him that!  I love looking at his etchings! ;), again do not tell him that!

Below are photos Peter had taken.  Some are already posted in GlobalGranary.Org

But so much more can be seen at his flickr account.
