Nilasing na Hipon (Drunken Shrimps)

This is a very tasty recipe and very quick to make.

Ingredients:

1/2 kg shrimps or prawns, washed
6 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
2 tbsp ginger, peeled and grated
1 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp dark soy sauce
4 tbsp cherry brandy
1 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil

Method of preparation

Using  large frying pan or a wok, heat up the oil and saute the garlic until it has turned golden; do not burn the garlic as it will turn bitter.

Add the shrimps or prawns as well as the grated ginger.  Cook until the shrimps or prawns have turned light orange.

Pour the light and dark soy sauce as well as the cherry brandy.   Cook for a minute.  Then turn off the heat.  But leave the shrimps to soak in the brandy sauce for a few more moments before serving.

This will make a good starter, served with a green salad.
