Ririko Takemura is a newbie prosecutor who got transferred to Yokohama District Public Prosecutors office, where her colleagues are male and experienced.
Ririko was enthusiastic with her job, so much so that most times her assistant would remind her to be more circumspect and not show too much emotion with the public/clients.
Her first case was about power harassment.
The manager regularly bullied his subordinate and went as far as beat and pushed him down an underground stairwell. The victim sustained heinous injury.
He reported the case to the police a week after it happened and the boss/manager and another colleague, who was with them during the said incident, denied that anything had happened.
Ririko was advised to drop the case as there was no evidence. Her boss told her that Japan has a 99.99 per cent record prosecution because of evidence.
Ririko got upset and even rethought about her vocation as a prosecutor if she can’t serve justice.
In the end she got her evidence.
Ririko has a boyfriend of four years. But lately, they have been both too busy to see one another.
There is, of course, a gorgeous prosecutor at her office. He is Otsuka played by Shohei Miura. I hope they have a romance but I find that Shohei in most of his dramas does not get the girl.
Yuriko is such a winsome young lady. I love her dramas. She reminds me of Tao Tsuchiya.
Episode 2
Ririko had her first murder case. It was about domestic violence, the wife finally had had enough of her controlling and violent husband that she hit him with a vase on the head. She hit him five times until he’s dead.
In the end, the wife got ten years in prison.
We also meet Ririko’s gorgeous boyfriend.

Episode 5
This is the sweetest episode so far because there is now a hint of a romance between Ririko and Otsuka.
These two prosecutors collaborated on a case involving murder and fraud. Their team ended up having a meal and a drink. Ririko had drunk too much and unwittingly kissed Otsuka. His reaction was so cute. From being reserved, he was completely nonplussed after their accidental kiss.
I also love Ririko’s family interaction. They are so supportive of each other.
I smiled almost throughout this episode.
Episode 6
This episode is about the gang of scammer called ‘Hey, It’s Me’ victimising all people out of their money. The gang comprises of university students and the leader was a former student. They would call up an elderly person pretending to be her son/relative begging for millions of yens to help get out of a bind.
The lawyer representing the arrested scammer happened to be Misaki, who was Ririko’s best friend in college.
Ririko finally remembered kissing Otsuka last week. Her trying to apologise to him was so hilarious.
Episode 7
Ririko and Otsuka are so cute together. They are having more interaction and it was cute and fun.
The case for this episode is about a 5-year-old child, who was injured in his pre-school. The father was suing the school for negligence. The school was claiming that there is no problem with their policy and it was an unforeseeable accident.
It turned out the school is severely understaffed. Therefore, the safety of children is often overlooked.
Aihara felt strongly about this case as he has a daughter of 6 years old. But he is divorced and his ex-wife had remarried. He made a decision not to see his daughter often so as not to confuse her. In the end, he had a happy reunion with his young daughter.
Episode 8
Ririko’s mother suspected that her husband was having an affair and wanted Ririko to investigate especially when they noticed that he took 300,000y from their account.
It turned out the father had been surreptitiously visiting the restaurant Ririko’s sister’s boyfriend was working. He finally gave his blessing to the couple.
The 300,000 Y was lent to a friend who was in need of cash.
They promised to pay it all back so it all ended well.
As to this episode’s case, it was about a famous actor who ran over someone but his manager volunteered to say he was the culprit.
Episode 9
This case tackled in this episode is about chikans or pervert targeting women/girls in public transport.
To start with Ririko apparently ‘wrongfully’ sent a police officer to jail for being a menace on public transport, train. The police officer was apparently feeling young teenage girls’ bums.
But the DNA gathered from the skirt of the victim was not those of the police officer. The mistake made Ririko question herself and her ability. She was so downhearted that she was about to resign from her job but she was given a good talking to by the office manager.
Otsuka helped Ririko by asking a friend for some information about the website where the perverts come to brag about their activities. The info proved to be very useful.
In the end, the police officer was indeed a pervert but he felt another girl rather than the one who complained.
Ririko had a final closure with an ex-boyfriend. He came to check on her upon hearing that she was having a hard time with the press for sending an ‘innocent’ policeman to jail. Of course, she was vindicated.
Her ex was also saying goodbye to her as he was leaving for New York.
The cute romance with Otsuka is sweet but then again she is also quite closed with her mature assistant, Aihara.
Episode 10
This episode is apparently the finale.
The case this time is about a spoiled politician son, who killed a chef. The politician father used every resource to get his son off, including producing a fake witness.
In the end, the son confessed to his crime and was subsequently indicted.
There was no full-on romance in this drama. It is left into the viewers’ imagination who Ririko would go for. Her assistant Aihara or Otsuka. But her parents were so proud of her, that they encouraged her to just do well in her job for now!
