Quick Precis:

This drama is about the life, struggle, and goings-on in a hospital which will center around a group of friends who had struck it through thick and thin since their university days.

Episode 1

The first episode has got the feel of young doctors.  They are vibrant but over-worked.

Anyway, the chairman of Yulje Hospital had a brain hemorrhage and then subsequently died.  The stockholders/board were wondering who would inherit to run the hospital.

The Chairman had 5 grown-up children. The first son was a priest, the second son is a priest, the eldest daughter is a nun and the other daughter was also a nun.

The youngest was An Jeong Won, he is a professor of pancreatic surgery but has no ambition to be the chairman.  This was supported by his mother who signed out the chairmanship to someone else.

But as An Jeon Won has some legal rights to challenge the chairmanship, he asked that in return for his agreement that all the fees from the VIP rooms & treatment will be given to Person A (Him).

And he will provide professors to run the different surgeries.

He then gathered up his four best friends who he had know since university days in 1999.  However, it was news to them when they found out that An Jeong Joon was the chairman’s son.

Ik Joon had no reason not to sign the contract as it was double his salary, and so did Joon Wan, and  Song Hwa.  But then Seok Hyung said that he does not care for the money nor other incentives, what he wanted was a band.

Song Hwa walked out followed by Joon Wan. They don’t want to be in a band.

AnJeong Joon seduced Joon Wan with an all expensed paid trip to Hawaii while Song Hwa was promised to be the lead vocal for the band.

Their first practice did not go too well.  Song Hwa was out of tune most of the time and the other member can’t believe it.

Anyway, back to the hospital duty, An Jeong Joon’s young patient of three years had died.  The ultra caring mother was of course very upset and wanted them to keep resuscitating the little girl but they had to give up.

He was very upset while looking out of the corridor.  The girl’s mother had calmed down and came to thank him humbly for having looked after her daughter for the last three years.

Suddenly Jeong Joon was hysterical.  He was crying piteously and the mother had to comfort him.

Anyway, Jeong Joon was a Catholic and went to confession.  He unburdened his sadness that he had not grieved much about his father but he was devastated when he was thanked by the dead girl’s mother.

The priest passed him a note about going for a meal.

The priest was his eldest brother, who was his confidant.  Every time he felt pressure at work, he would tell his priest brother that would quit.

The priest would tell him to give it another year.

It seemed this was a regular annual thing where he threatened to quit but advised by his brother to give it another year.

Apparently, Jeong Joon also wanted to become a priest originally.

Meanwhile, Joon Wan broke up with his alcoholic girlfriend.  He was going to a conference where Song Hwa’s boyfriend was also attending.

Joon Wan saw Song Hwa’s boyfriend coming out of the lift with another woman.  They looked very intimate.
