Episode 1

We have just started watching this drama on Netflix as it is an OCN production.  We have become addicted to OCN dramas and we have watched several already.

Anyway, this drama is very interesting, watchable.

It seems there is a group of people working in a noodle shop who are good martial artists.  And they have mastered a bit of their ‘qi’ inner energy which made them stronger than normal people.

Their strength is measured by levels, i.e., level 1, 2. 3, 4, etc.

It started with a family driving along a motorway when the husband got a call from a bleeding colleague who was beaten up but temporarily gotten away from his assailant.

He warned his friend to be careful as they were also coming for him.

And they did as a truck plowed into the family car killing the mother and father.  The young boy who said that his leg hurt survived.

Seven years later.

Episode 1

Lee Min hooooooooooooooooo isssss backkkkkkkkkkk

I have been meaning to watch this since it began but I thought I should wait until all the episodes had been released by Netflix to binge-watch.  Then I got waylaid by other dramas.

So it might be late but here I am enjoying the first episode.

This was because of the mythical flute that could change the world.

The young crown prince picked up a legendary sword and pointed it to his uncle but instead it broke the flute in half.

His uncle stuck the part of the flute he was still holding against the boy’s next until the boy lost consciousness from the gushing blood on his next.

But someone started shooting at the assassins and wounded his uncle.

That someone then went to check on the boy prince.  That someone dropped her ID card.

The Crown Prince regain consciousness and picked the other half of the flute and the ID card.

After the Emperor was buried and mourned, the Crown Prince was made the new Emperor.

The new emperor was very sad but was befriended by another younger boy who was a son of a minister.

Meanwhile, his bleeding uncle was able to go to another dimension, where he met himself.  He is wheelchair-bound but his emperor brother was still alive and so was his nephew.  But the difference was they were far from being royals.  They were poor.

The new Emperor grew up having it all.  He was popular with the people with his good looks and athleticism.

But at the back of his mind, he wanted to meet the girl on the ID card.

After winning a rowing contest with his schoolmates, he noticed a girl in a rabbit suit.

He followed her but lost her.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Corea was a very pretty horndog who wanted to be queen.  Though the Emperor tolerates her to a certain extent, he was not interested because he wanted to meet the ID girl.

He saw her again.  Riding his while horse he followed her until he ended up in a bamboo forests where two obelisks suddenly appeared.  There was thunder and lighting and a doorway opened.  He ended up in another dimension.

It so happened that Jung Tae Eul was passing by.  She told the man on the horse to stop but he wouldn’t.

She followed him on the square where he noticed her at last.

Episode 2

She arrested him but let him go.  He had no ‘valid’ money so used the diamond stud buttons on his suit jacket.

Episode 3

He has gone back to his world.

Episode 4

They missed each other so much, he went back for her and asked her to go back with him to his world.

Episode 5

Lee Min Ho is just gorgeous.

Anyway, Tae Eul went to Corea with Lee Gon.  She was surprised that it was familiar and yet unfamiliar to her.

Episode 6

Tae Eul got back to her own world, leaving Lee Gon to command a navy battleship against the Japanese for invading Corea’s water.

Tae Eul gave her father a loving hug but then he told her that he did not even realise that she was gone.

Episode 1

Ju Gyeong grew up being told that she was ugly. In the end, she accepted it as a fact.  She has no self-worth, no self-confidence, and absolutely no self-esteem.

Because of this, she accepted that being bullied is part of her life until she thought she fell in love with the dinner boy, Wang Hyun Bin, at her school.

She misconstrued his kindness and attention into something deeper as she was starved of affection even from her own family.

Anyway, she baked some cookies and decided to confess to Hyun Bin.

But the school belle who bullies Ju Gyeong all the time got to Hyun Bin first and told him that she heard he has a girlfriend already in Ju Gyeong.  She added that she was interested in him as well.

So when Ju Gyeong confessed, Hyun Bin told her that he was not interested with her.  She should have looked in the mirror rather than baking cookies.  He then left her hurriedly, heartbroken.

But it got worst because her confession was videoed by her bullies.

They made fun of her and poured the tin of cookies she baked on her head, all over her.

Poor Ju Gyeong climbed to the rooftop and was about to jump but she saw a digital banner of a boy of her age who had just committed suicide.

This made her think.  She thought she was going to live.

The decision not to commit suicide was taken from her hand because a boy, Suho, managed to grab her into safety.

He told her not to be stupid to commit suicide.

Anyway, he was very caring, although rather begrudgingly.

Ju Gyeong was scared when she got home because she did send a suicide text to her mother.

She saw her mother looking very upset.  It turned out it has nothing to do with her text, which her mother had not seen yet or likely to see as her phone got broken.

Anyway, what was upsetting her family was that the loan sharks had come calling because the father had borrowed a lot of money to invest in antiques that had yet to be found.

The family was forced to sell their house and move back to their old one. This means Ju Gyeong and her brother had to move schools as well.

Ju Gyeong wanted to make a good impression at her new school, so she learned the make-up techniques on youtube.

She replaced her glasses with light brown contact lenses and the result was absolutely stunning.

When she got to her school, she was treated like a goddess.  She was rather unnerved with how the students were looking at her admiringly.

And then when at home and her makeup is removed, she is back being a pimply girl with black eyebrows in glasses.

It is during her make-up free time that she met Suho again in a bookstore.

I love this drama.  Very interesting but I have to say that despite the eyebrows, glasses and pimples, Ju Gyeong couldn’t be called ugly.  In fact, without make-up, she still looks better than anyone of her classmates.

Episode 2

I am really loving this drama.

Anyway, Ju Gyeong was feted at school.

She later realised that the boy who prevented her from jumping from the rooftop was her new classmate, Suho.

Anyway, she had a lovely day at school, at last she felt she belonged.

But her brother was threatening to sabotage her newfound popularity by posting what she looked like without make-up online.

She bribed him with the latest copy of a demon manga.

She went to the bookstore to get it and was about to reach for it when another hand grabbed it first.

She was so annoyed with him, she tried to grab it back from him.  She then fell on top of him.  He thought she seemed familiar.

Thinking that he recognised her at the new girl in class, who was so pretty but without make-up she thinks she looks ugly, she made a deal with him.

They found out that they like the same things and read the same things.

She told him that if he kept her secret, she was going to give him an original and signed copy of Demon manga.

There was also a new boy who is also gorgeous.  He was running away from hoods when he suddenly handed his helmet to a dumbfounded Ju Gyeong.

At school, he told her that he wanted the helmet back.

She promised him that she was going to give it to him the next day.

Meanwhile, Ju Gyeong’s new friend was celebrating 100 days with her boyfriend.  The boyfriend arranged a surprise to Hee Kyung.

There was a cream cake which one of their classmates tried to splat to the love-up couple who moved away just in time but unluckily for Ju Gyeong, the cake caught her right in the face.

Her classmates tried to help wipe off the cake but she became hysterical and telling them to not touch her.

In the end, Suho conveniently turned up and cover her head with his school blazer.

Episode 1

Wow

Even from the first episode, I am confident to highly recommend this drama already.

I say, it has everything good in a thriller.

Anyway, the drama started in 1997 when a group of soldiers was reconnoitering a Demarcation Military Zone (DMZ).  As it was a DMZ, no one should be in that area but the soldiers saw movement.

They then got an update from HQ that a North Korean female defector was nearby.  Sure enough, they saw her holding a baby.

The South Korean soldiers were just about to take the woman and her baby with them when some North Korean soldiers came out from the undergrowth and told the SK soldiers to return the woman back otherwise there will be blood.

The woman herself said that she was willing to return but wanted her baby to be taken to South Korea.

She then told her compatriot that whatever they do to her she cannot help them with the whereabouts of the man they were looking for.

Despite the woman’s willingness to return, shots were fired and it started a bloody skirmish between the North and South Korean soldiers.  In the end, all of the NK soldiers were killed.

The man they were looking for was running away with a box and often his eyes would turn bright red.

20 years later…

Yong Don Yin was an exceptional soldier.  He is smart, all-rounder, and most of all fearless.  He is well respected by his army mates.

Anyway, they were tasked to bring Leo, guide dog, into the woods to hunt for a Siberian wolf.

Going there was easy enough but the soldiers with him saw what they were hunting for and they run scared.

Don Yin used the tranquiliser gun but just one shot just did not work immediately. It took a heartstopping long time.  Everyone was so scared, a soldier was shooting tranquiliser left right and centre and one went to Don Yin who collapsed.

A female soldier from KCST (or something), came to the rescue and had Don Yin carted back to base.

Son Ye Rim from KCST was tasked to find the missing soldiers.

Don Yin and a few of his soldiers were asked to escort and cooperate with KCST.

It looked like there is some bitterness between Son Ye Rim and Don Yin because of a past relationship.

Anyway, they got into the forest in the dead of the night and exciting stuff.

They later track the body of a soldier, who they noticed was killed in strange way.

They before they know what was going on, a hoard of super wolves were before them.

Exciting stuff.

Episode 2

Son Ye Rim was almost attacked by a dead soldier who came alive when she went to see it on the mortuary.

Episode 3

Son Ye Rim was saved by military men who came ot her rescue.

Song Ming Gyu is in charge of a team of four who are specialist of their area.  They were searching for a sergeant who had been missing for 22 hours but Song Ming Gyu had another agenda.  He had been tasked to find find out what was out there.

Son Ye Rim was working on the lab when a dead rat injected by the blood from the zombie captain came alive.

22 hours before Sargeant Yong..

Dong Yin was patrolling with his dog, Mac, when he encountered soldiers from the North, he managed to get away.

19 hours before Sargeant Yong went missing

it was found that a drone was not viable to use because they suspected the North Korea was jamming the airwaves.

Blood fell on Dong Yin while he was under a tree.

12 hours before Sargeant Yong went missing.

The team went on a reconnaissance.

Song Ye Rim had been sent to join Song Ming Gwu’s team and almost upon arrival she heard that Sargeant Yong was missing.

Without further ado, she was armed and dangerous and a good thing too because she was able to save Dong Yin from a zombie-like creature.

Episode 4

Song Ye Rim said that the creature cannot be identified yet.  It is neither a monster nor a zombie.  It is still investigated.  She showed the video of her attack at the lab by a dead soldier who came alive.

She said that it can be contained or killed by destroying its mendula oblongata.

The captain was having none of it.  As far as he was concerned they were hunting for. a North Korean soldier.

They did fire at the creature but it was too fast to be contained.

Meanwhile, in the village female chickens were being stolen and they were saying that it was an inside job.

The captain was determined to catch the rogue ‘North Korean soldier’.  At the crack of dawn he took his team to wait and hunt for him.

They found though that it was awfully quiet.

Instead, they got a SOS call from their HQ where their communication operator said that the monster was in their base and then the operator collapsed.

The team hurried back to their base.

Episode 5

The atmosphere was very tense.  Baekjun died from the attack of the creature.  Dong Yin went to the hospital to speak to Baekjun’s parents which suddenly reminded him of his father.

Apparently, his father was a soldier as well but he did not know how he died as he did not get round to asking his mother.

The creature was not marauding in the village though the villager did not know how it looks likes but they started to get clues that there was something amiss that the soldiers were not telling them.

Led by Kim Da Nong, a villager who was a former sergeant twelve years ago, formed their own vigilante to hunt for the creature who had been stealing their livestock.  They did have a clue that the creature might have been a soldier because one of the villagers saw it in uniform.

The team was patrolling the village when they met the vigilantes.

Dong Yin got given a camcorder by a little girl with a tape recording of what had happened twelve years ago between the North Korean female defector and the South Korean soldiers, his father might have been one of them.

Episode 6

Lee Jun Sung found out about what was on the video camera that was being watched by Dong Yin.

He was very interested to get it because it involved his father.

Jun Sung called his father to tell him that he knew what happened in 1997 and his father was no hero.

But all the same Jun Sung chose to save his father by smashing the camcorder, he took from dong Yin’s bedside cabinet.

They knew that the creature is radio-active.

Dong Yin remembered that the creature was greatly affected by sound frequency.

So they had a meeting and they had decided to trap the creature and then shoot it with trqnquilizer.

It did look doable in theory but when they came to implement their plan, it immediately went wrong when their sound system could not cope with full sound.

Ye Rim and Dong Yin trapped the creature in a room and they almost paid for it with their lives.  But Dong Yin jumped into the creature with his dagger and while they were busy fighting, Ye Rim took the syringe with the tranquilizer but the creature ended up dead.

Ming Gyu reported to Han Dei Suk that the creature was killed but at this point Han Dei Suk was more concerned with the camcorder which MIng Gyu did not know about.

Ming Gyu started looking at the issue of Sector 21 in 1997.

Episode 7

Soo Young, Da Jung’s daughter wandered down into the DMZ after going after a rabbit.  She got lost as she goes more into the thick of the forest.  Then suddenly a pair of supper fast hands took her away.

Ye Rim found some rather puzzling information from the sample she took at the DMZ site.  She suddenly remembered that there was a creature with green eyes and it could be the host.

She contacted Dong Yin and asked him if he remembered something about the first creature they saw together.

Dong Yin thought about it and came to the same conclusion as her.  The creature has green eyes and those that they had subdued had red eyes.

Da Jung found out from the police surveillance that her daughter was seen going to the DMZ.

So Da Jung begged the departing miner special forces to look for her daughter before they go.

They went back to the DMZ and after a thorough search, they found Soo Young giving someone a fist bump and quite happy in her situation.

They quizzed the girl who said that the creature was not a monster.  He was a nice man who saved he

Dong Yin realised that the creature also saved him when he pushed Dong Yin away from a falling steel rafter/beam.

Episode 8

Joon Sung asked his father if he was going to pull out from his presidential candidacy as they agreed on.

Lee Hyuk just laughed at him.

Joon Sung sent the cassette tape from the broken camcorder to the news station anonymously.

The Section 21 incident of 1997 blew up.  Suddenly Lee Hyuk was a pariah amongst his peers.

But he will not go lying down and with his hired mercenaries, he had Han De Sik killed because Han De Sik was preparing to confess of his role in 1997.

Episode 9

Hee-ra, Dong Yin’s mom told her son about his father. That she was told that he defected to North Korea in 1997.  She did not believe a word of it but because she did not want Dong Yin to suffer from the gossip and scrutiny of having a traitor father, she changed his name.  She did try to speak to Lee Hyuk about what happened but he never wanted to see her.

Episode 10

The team went back to the DMZ to look for something which Song Min Gyu was rather secretive about.  He was directly working for Lee Hyuk.

When they got to the cave, they were faced with some North Korean soldiers and then black-clad ‘special forces’ who turned out to be mercenaries working for Lee Hyuk.

At first Ming Gyu ordered his team to work with the special forces but he soon realised that the guys were putting explosives everywhere because they would blow up the cave structure with his team on it.

Ming Gyu suddenly found his leadership and tried to save his team but it was too late.  He died for his effort but without finding the nuclear trigger he was tasked to look for.

Dong Yin and Ye Rim were about to be executed when Joon Sung suddenly turned up.  His father was going to shoot Dong Yin but Joon Sung stood in front of Dong Yin and got shot instead.

To cut a long story short, the creature saved them.

Dong Yin knew that he was his father.  He begged the monster to go back with him but he can’t really because he was partly dead with severely scarred but still handsome face.

Ye Rim told Dong Yin that they had to go.  Lee Hyuk was not dead but the creature got him who pushed the bomb to blow up sooner.

Ye Rim was given a document where she learned that she was the baby of the 2 North Korean defectors of 1997.

She was raised by the doctor.

After coming to terms with what she is, Dong Yin was there waiting for her.

A full investigation was being carried out about the 1997 incident and the sudden disappearance of Lee Hyuk.

Dong Yin applied to be recognised as his father’s son once again.

One year later…

Dong Yin is now working as a vet with Mac.

I totally recommend this drama.  Lots of action and very tense moments.  Good acting by everyone.
