What is a second male lead syndrome?

This occurs when the second male lead in a drama or film has so much chemistry with the lead actress that you hope they end up together in the end.

This usually happens when there is a strong love triangle and the male lead is a tsundere, who takes too long to thaw down his cold and often hostile treatment of the lead female character.  Between them is a lovely second male lead who often supports the lead female character in all her troubles.

Sometimes also the Second Male Lead is equally as great as the Male lead.

A great example of this was The Heir.   You fell in love with the bad boy Woo Bin and wanted him to end up with Park Shin Hye in the drama as well as in real life.  LOL

• Good Morning Call Season two: Uehara X Nao X Natsume.  Uehara was making his romantic life with Nao rather complicated when Natsume totally gets Nao.
• Legend of Hua BuQi: Chen Yu X Bu Qi X Fang Shi.  Chen Yu treated Bu Qi so badly by not making it clear to Qing Wu that he was not into her instead he even promised her that perhaps in the next life they will be together.  I hated him so much that I wanted Bu Qi to end up with Fang Shi, who I thought loved her unconditionally, more than life itself as he had proven in the end.
• See You Again: Ye Jia Cheng X Shi Jian X Yi Pei.  This is a Chinese drama about a married woman who was involved in a plane crash but woke up a few years in the past.  So she tried to meet her present husband ahead of time.  She also met a man, who loved her unconditionally.
